Took my dog there for an evaluation and playday. During the introduction/tour owner showed a long flexible pole with loose strips on end of it and said they will carry it and use by swinging it in front of them to keep the dogs from rushing the gates and to keep them in line if necessary; may touch dog on hind with it to get them to move or listen. Also said they may use a spray bottle with vinegar and something else in it or hose to squirt dogs to stop an interaction. Watched the cameras ALL the time and saw some disturbing things. One dog was literally kicked/pushed with a worker's foot on the hind end to get it up and moving out of the kennel. Another dog was struck what appeared to be hard on the hind end with that pole end; appearing as if he went the wrong way. The pole was swung very quickly in front of a worker to move dogs back like she said it would be; some of them cowered at it...have seen that reaction prior in dogs that have been struck. Too many dogs in play areas at same time for my liking. AND all they seemed to do was meander about and follow the worker around the yard; once in a great while the worker would pet a dog and then push others away that also wanted petting/attention. Pretty sad. Owner talks a good line about dog psychology and treatment when you inquire. These are observations by an owner, and if it had been my dog that had the interactions above with staff, I would have been there immediately. And by the way, you have no idea what my background/knowledge/training is... You are right, you don't send dogs home injured or needing vet care due to problems or interactions with other dogs. You keep the dogs safe. Your tactics are just not agreeable with me. read more

I'm not sure who loves this place more, me or my dog! He's been going here since he was a small puppy and he gets so excited as soon as we pull in the parking lot. He just loves it! Just started going here after visiting 3 other doggy daycare and boarding centers. Rachel gave me the full run down and was very engaged and excited to answer questions and meet my fur baby. She was very knowledgeable and cares for each dog that comes through those doors. My pup wasn't too well socialized so we had to take some extra steps before letting him into free play and it was worth it. My pup was so much more comfortable after rachel helped socialize him a bit. I love that I can watch him anytime I drop him off interact without other dogs and come out of his shell. I've had my Bassett Hounds here for boarding and doggie daycare for over a year. Great staff! They know my dog well and you can truly see they love their jobs. The owner is a wealth of knowledge and was so wonderful when I needed some help with an older dog I adopted who oddly hated shoes. The staff are all knowledgeable, well trained, and courteous. While you may not get all the bells and whistles that come with some of the large chain pet boarders, what Happy Trails offers for service is right on par if not better...except with a more attentive and friendly staff and better pricing! This is a very sad review to have to write. Until today I would have been like everyone else leaving a 5 star review. My Golden Retreiver has attended twice weekly play dates, boarded, and always( I thought) been treated with care and concern and love by the staff. I picked him up like normal on Wednesday, was told he had a great day, I made a boarding reservation, and left saying "bye we'll see you Friday". No one acted like anything was amiss. I was "greeted" just two days later by an aggressive and unfriendly Rachel at drop off this Friday morning accusing me of not checking my voicemail( never received a call or voicemail). "Teddy has been charging my gate and I can't have him break it. He might hurt his head and I also just can't have him break my new gate". I was shocked and expressed that I had never heard of him doing that and she told me he had been doing it a while but it's only now a problem as she couldn't have her new gate broken... If I had ever been made aware of him "charging"a gate before now, I likely would have stopped bringing him and been concerned about him not being happy there. All I ever heard from EVERY staff member consistently before today was that he was doing great, they love him, he plays great with others. I feel like they have been deceptive and have not been looking out for his well-being. Communication skills were greatly lacking in our abrupt dismissal from happy trails today. All I care about is the safety and happiness of my dog. They evidently only care about their new gate. The approach that Rachel took today was aggressive, accusing, and totally out of the blue. Had this been dealt with in a more professional manner and from a place of caring about my dog, I would never have thought to write a review! Despite her claim, I received no call, no voicemail from Happy Trails. Seriously, after almost a year at Happy Trails with twice weekly visits, they don't have my correct phone number? Either that or Rachel never called and lied. Not really sure which scenario is more concerning?!? I hope this review will warn others who use this daycare/ boarding facility, that they may not be getting the care they think they are. I'm not mad at Happy Trails, I'm mad at myself. I got complacent and wasn't looking at the webcams anymore because I trusted them to be honest. My mistake. Also, they managed to hide my negative review on google... hmmm.. that is also very telling... what else are they hiding??? I'm not giving up and will also verbally tell everyone I know about your terrible and unsafe business. The dogs deserve better. read more

They make you tour and do an evaluation before you can use them to board or daycare and didn't mention the evaluation is pretty much just a day of daycare. That you have to pay for. And they have SO many dogs. Our dog came home smelling like pee and disgusting. Not sure how they have such good reviews. read more

HIGHLY recommend this place! If you've had any anxiety or worry about leaving your pup some place (I know people have heard horror stories about doggie day care in general) this place will keep you stress free! They have cameras where you can watch your pup all day should you want to! They are so kind, know myself and my dog by name so we feel like part of a doggie day care family! They come out to your car and grab your kid so you don't have to go through taking them inside and trying to get them to walk away from you. Plus, my kid comes home happy and played out! We have used Happy Trails twice so far. Chip is well taken care of while staying with them. He's a people loving little ball of fluff so when I came to pick up and they said "awww, little Chip is going home!" It made me feel like they love my pup too. I will use them again. Not a good place, they had my pup come for an evaluation. They had me come pick up pup due to them supposedly being overwhelmed. We have multiple dogs so all my dogs are used to other dogs. We brought our dogs to another boarding place 3 days later and magically all of my dogs were perfectly fine. The place they did fine at said they get a lot of the same complaints about this facility. STAY AWAY, they also have you sign a waiver stating if something happens to your pet overnight they are not responsible although it says if you choose to board them with another dog, it is very likely they will use that against you if it is on their end. Find another place to board your dog. Unfortunately I had to call about 12 centers due to the dates we need most places are full but when I explained what happened at least 8 or 9 of the facilities all said the same this seems to be a common occurrence here. read more

My dog Lulu loves it there! She's a little shy around other dogs but they are great with her. She follows the people around more than playing with the other dogs but comes home exhausted and looks forward to going back. I love the cameras so I can check in on her. She has stayed for a week back in September and loved it, she was less stressed then when we left her at other places. The owner is truly a dog person and my dog loves him! He's the best. read more

Have been taking my yellow lab here since 2014 and she loves it. She loves the open play with other dogs and is always very happy when I pick her up. The staff are very attentive and address any concerns. There are cameras so you can watch your pup playing. read more

My dogs were happy here. I was worried because one of my dogs came from Cobb county pound 9 months ago. She gets anxious and upset. This place is great! They have been fantastic to work with. The people are very nice and helpful, like coming outside to help hold one of my dogs while get the other one out of the truck. With my pending out of town trip they were able to get me in for an analysis of my two dogs and gave me rave reviews about my dogs! I was even able to schedule a slot over the holiday weekend right there in the spot. I was given a tour of the facilities and they are very nice, clean and well put together. I won't ever bother looking for another place to board my dogs because this place is it! They can even set you up a link their cameras so you can check in on your pup's. read more

I highly recommend Happy Trails! Our Bull Terrier has been going there consistently for about a month now, boarded twice and at day care once a week. He loves it. Before Happy Trails he was bored and lonely and I think taking him there has made him a much more well-rounded dog. He runs inside every time we drop him off and comes home tuckered out. The staff at Happy Trails really get to know you and your dog and it makes such a huge difference when compared to other places that just throw your dog in without accounting for personality quirks and ability to fit in. I LOVE this place for my dogs! I'm not one to leave reviews, but good service deserves positive feedback. Although this facility is on the other side of Atlanta from me, if I have to take my dogs somewhere, I feel it's worth the effort to go the extra to take them to Happy Trails. (I actually have a "popular" doggie daycare and boarding business literally one minute away from where I live, which would be very handy, but after touring it once I can't even bring myself to drop my dogs off there in a pinch!) Happy Trails is not a glitzy, dolled-up, over-priced, pretentious place--it is a CLEAN, happily colorful, spacious, well-thought out and well-cared for space that offers dogs multiple indoor/outdoor ways to keep interested during the day on top of the fun puppies that are there to play with. (They even have a pool for my water-loving bulldog!) I like that when I look in on the puppy cam to see what my babies are doing I see the staff interacting with the dogs and cleaning. (At another location I looked at and regrettably sent my dog to for an afternoon--not the one near my home but still one closer to me--every time I looked at their webcam I saw one lone staff member sitting for a long time in the corner with a large group of dogs looking bored, and shooting them with water when they barked too much). The staff at Happy Trails is friendly and excited about your pets, and owners Ben and Sue put a lot of heart and attention into their business (she even makes up the neatest homemade treats for the dogs!) They're very dedicated and caring...and they put up with all of my questions and my over-protective checking in the first time I left one of my pups with them with patience and a smile ;) This is one of the few places (umm, the ONLY place, so far, that isn't friends or family) where I feel very comfortable leaving my dogs. And the proof that it's a great place is my dogs are visibly excited to be there! read more
