I've never had any problems with a bracket coming off, or anything of that matter. I was greeted and given paperwork to fill out. Within minutes of handing it in I was called in. I sat with Maria and she took my blood pressure (yep, they take your blood pressure there. How awesome is that?!) and x-rays. We discussed the condition of my teeth. Then, Dr. Millan came in and he looked over all the X-rays and my teeth. He discussed the treatment he'd like to proceed with. Sidenote: Dr. Millan is super likable. After talking to the dentist, Nicole came in and we talked about insurance coverage and what wasn't covered. If you don't have the money upfront , they do take CareCredit (you can get 6-12 months interest free). After accepting and approving treatment fees, I proceeded with making an appointment for my teeth cleaning. Luckily enough, they were able to see me the same afternoon. This is my second appointment there actually May 3. It was recommended that I need to come back for a deep cleaning three months after my regular cleaning and as much anxiety as I have, and as hard as it is for me, I went ahead and came back during my second appointment. It was explained to me that all of the procedure procedures that they want to do would end up resulting in about $2000. There were a lot of things there that I didn't feel were necessary and would take off of that total bill like replacing my old feelings. Anyways, I show up to my appointment today. The hygienist is as kind as can be, and really trying to help me deal with my anxiety. All went well at the end she applied some kind of medication that she said I couldn't floss my teeth for a few days. All is well I go to pay and my bill is almost $1000. My jaw dropped to the floor I have never in my life paid $1000 for a cleaning. The first response from the attendant was that I signed for this when I was lost at the office three months ago. I said excuse me, but it was never mentioned to me that my next appointment would be $1000. What if I was in a position where I couldn't pay for this right now this is completely unfair. The right thing to have done would have been to discuss his financials with me when I arrived and gone over any Part of it that was considered optional and not covered by the insurance. Apparently the medication that they applied at the end is what skyrocketed the bill but at no point was just explained to me or discussed with me prior to the process which I feel is very unprofessional and sneaky. I have completely lost trust and I will never be going back to this place. I do recommend them for their services and their staff, but make sure you are on top of your visit before committing to anything make sure that prices are clear to you upfront prior to having a procedure because this was very deceitful and not what I expect from a provider that is supposed to be caring and looking after my best interest. My reason for visiting was merely cosmetic but even then I was taken care. I was able to get both of my upper and bottom, bonded-retainers (permanent) replaced here, as well as a fix for a chipped front tooth. Upon consultation I was told a cleaning would be required to ensure a successful bonding for replacement. The hygienist who did my cleaning was heaven sent. Compared to past experiences with other clinics from around the country, usually cleaning is rough and abrasive with lots of metal tools hitting and scraping harder than necessary, including the flossing portion. However the cleaning that was done at SDD was ever so gentle, I was honestly shocked at how much care and grace was given to my cleaning. My hygienist took extra precaution to carefully thread floss between my teeth as it reaches the gum line. Not one instance of rough handling during the entire cleaning. I came in rather sad from all the work I needed done, but left super happy with a smile on my face. SDD deserves five stars!! I would encourage anyone to come here!
