If you couldn't be there for 4 days you should have been honest about that. We would have understood that, but to bail on 3 appointments with very little communication is very disrespectful. I called Dan to come look at my 40 plus year old safe. The combination lock was giving me problems…read moreand would not open every time I tried to unlock it. He took it apart and made a few adjustments and said it shows a little wear but should work. At first it did work but then I was still having problems with it nop opening every time. I called Dan again and he came right out. He looked at it and decided to replace the combination mechanism with a brand new one. Ever since then the lock on the safe now works perfect. It opens each and every time. When Dan came out the second time and replaced the mechanism with a new one he did not charge me a dime. This man really knows his business and was on time both times he came out. I am very grateful to him and his knowledge of repairing combination locks. Not sure that this happens always but I was happy it was so quick! The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because they didn't confirm my identity (via ID card, etc) before starting the service. I would have thought that was a must-do. It felt a little too easy to have my lock opened. Aside for that potential security miss, the service took less than 5 minutes and I was able to pay with a card. I got an automated reciept immediately to my email. Now, the price..... Since it was an emergency call, the service cost me $102.60 ($95 for the call plus 8% tax). Let's just say I've had my keys attached to me since. I would recommend them and I would use them again in the future!

I called around to some other locksmiths who quoted me fairly reasonable prices however, one locksmith recommended Ottinger and sons and said to ask for Jason. I called Jason and got an initial quote, which was very reasonable and called him back the following week to schedule an appointment. as I was talking with him, I realized he was at dinner with friends, but he was still taking time to make sure he got me on his schedule. I was more than willing to call back, but he insisted on making sure we got the appointment on his calendar. Jason called me the morning of our appointment to confirm and called me again that afternoon to tell me he was at one job, wrapping up across town and would be to my location quickly. He called as he was pulling up to tell me that he was there. I don't know how often locksmiths are that good at communication, but Jason was outstanding. Jason made small talk and got to know me as he was cutting the new key for my 2014 Chevy Malibu. The key needed a transponder and also required specialized equipment which Jason had in his truck. I don't even think he was at my house more than 15 minutes, but he felt like a lifelong friend by the time we were done. you can tell Jason is a motivated businessman. I highly recommend Ottinger and sons for mobile locksmith needs. Don't make assumptions about cost for a locksmith who comes to you. Call Jason and you won't be sorry.
