I locked myself out of my home and needed a lock opened for me. It was around 30 degrees outside and I had my dog with me. I called E&A and they had a technician out in about 10 minutes. Not sure that this happens always but I was happy it was so quick! The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because they didn't confirm my identity (via ID card, etc) before starting the service. I would have thought that was a must-do. It felt a little too easy to have my lock opened. Aside for that potential security miss, the service took less than 5 minutes and I was able to pay with a card. I got an automated reciept immediately to my email. Now, the price..... Since it was an emergency call, the service cost me $102.60 ($95 for the call plus 8% tax). Last year when I needed keys, they gave me 3 different prices. Anyway, did till he was done fixing my key, which took 4 hours in a winter time and told me $300 when they quoted me something weightless before that. They're doing it to me again and I need keys again. I called they told me it was a $30 fee and 169 plus tax. 2 hours later, they call me and gave me a whole another price of $229. I want to know what the f*** the price is. And I had to take it back last year 8 times I had to take the keypad because it didn't work. So I would never give them 5 stars. Don't use these guys. I used them for a change of locks when we bought a new house, and the guy took forever. He refused to put on the type of lock I wanted, and when it was done the lock was really sticky on the front door. I thought it would loosen up over time, but I was wrong - a month later, my key broke off in the lock! When I called to have them let me in the house, they refused to come until 10:00AM the next day. I got locked out of the house by my 3 year old who turned a lock on our door handle without me realizing it. I just so happened to not be wearing a coat in 45 degree weather because I thought I would be outside for 5 minutes letting my dogs out. Luckily, I put a jacket on my son and had my phone in my pocket. I called 3 other places that were closer to my house and got no answer or that they were closing and I should try someone else or that they could come by in 2-3 hours. E&A said they could be there in 45 minutes and they got there in 30. The lock was old and frozen (we never even had a key for that one) but it only took maybe a minute. Im stranded at 10 o'clock at the airport because I lost my keys while traveling. I see that this company is 24 hours and does BMW key fobs so I give them a call. A tired voice answers and when when I tell him my problem he goes " You'll just have to call me back tomorrow bud" as if I was annoying him. So now Im stranded in Cleveland for the night. The next day, I call him back (because nobody else can do BMW fobs) and the tech wants $550 dollars for a new fob! Ridiculous! I called the local dealership and they only wanted $200! What a rip off. You cant just hear "BMW" and start seeing dollar signs because you think I'm desperate. read more

I purchased a used 2010 Lexus RX350 and was only provided with one key. I got ahold of a spare key and needed the 'smart key' to be programed. I highly recommend E&A Locksmith!! I arrived at their office to check out the prices and if they were able to help me re-key the locks for my business. I was assisted by Emir, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. Within 1.5 hours, they were able to send someone in their white van to help me re-key the doors. I called on Thursday and scheduled a re-key for Saturday. I was quoted $69 for the service call and $18 a lock. I gave the green light and set up a time for Saturday. The appointed time came and went, and no locksmith. I gave a 20 minute buffer, then called to check the status. They said I wasn't in their appointment book but that someone could be here in 20 minutes. The guy I spoke to then quoted me $75 for the service call and $25 per lock. When I explained the previous quote, he said that was the weekday rate. I told him I'd called during the week but had scheduled for Saturday and gotten the rate quoted above. He stayed firm to his "weekend rate," so I told him to forget about it. Thanks for wasting my time, standing me up, and then having the guts to try to charge me extra. read more

After-hours call due to locking myself out of a house at night. Made it within reasonable time to the estimate given. However, could not open a consumer Lowe's door knob. It was part of a matching key, deadbolt set, so not sure if that makes much of a difference, but lock still needed to be drilled to gain entry. I happened to have an older replacement knob in my house, which he installed quickly though free of charge. Professional, prompt, accepts credit cards with a mobile payment system which I appreciated. My only hesitation was that the lock had to be drilled, increasing the cost.
