Easy to communicate with my initial contact, Ricky, to get an estimate to move an oversized Gentleman's dresser from garage to bedroom on second floor. Pricing was fair and communication excellent. The movers were awesome. The 4 guys were able to haul a huge and heavy dresser up the stairs. It was a challenge, but the guys successfully transferred the dresser upstairs. My original movers ghosted me so I contacted Kenosha Hunktz. Their quote was a little bit more than the previous company but it was still inexpensive for a moving company. They were extremely fast with the quote and were even available the following morning. Come morning they were on time and ready to start! They moved my one bedroom apartment in less than an hour and delivered it fully by the time I arrived at my new apartment. All-in-all, the move took less than two hours! We recently used Kenosha Hunkz for a household move 1.5 hours away. The move included a stop at a storage unit and a house to pick up furniture to deliver to the north side of Chicago. Everything about the process went smoothly from the first phone call to set it up and then to meet the movers at the storage facility and then the house. The loading period and drive time was efficient. They were able to park the truck and unload on a city street without any issues. Whew! The driver and movers were a great team. I hired Kenosha Hunktz for my move because they had the best price and they were available when I needed them. When I posted the job Ricky, the owner responded very quickly and, after talking to him on the phone, I was satisfied that he would be able to do the job on time and on my budget. His initial quote was $425 and he later sent an updated quote of $325. This seemed cheap but he said he was just getting started on his own so I figured he wanted to get some business and boost his ratings. He said his crew would be here at 9:45am on the morning of the move even though I booked him for 10:00. In reality they showed up at about 10:30. There seemed to be some disorganization as, even though I told him the directions to my home, he got lost and called several times to get directions again. He also states he had to drive from Kenosha to Milwaukee to pick up the truck, caused the delay. Once they got there they got right to work. There were initially two guys, but Ricky brought his son a bit later to help. The movers were very helpful and seemed to be pretty efficient, even though we weren't quite as prepared as we could have been. They spent two hours packing the truck, which seemed to be reasonable. We made two stops, at different locations to unload. Things went really fast at the first location, but slowed down quite a bit at the second. In all fairness, the move was from a single story condo to a second floor apartment with an elevator. That probably slowed them down. The entire move took about 5 1/2 hours, which seemed a bit long to me, but the big surprise came at the end. I figured that there would be somewhat of an adjustment in the bill, but when I asked one of the guys for the bill he said he didn't have one. I said, how can I pay you if I don't have a bill. He called Ricky and put me on the phone with him. He asked me if I was satisfied and I said it was ok, but it took longer than I thought it would. I asked him what I owed him considering it took longer. He hesitated and then said $600. I was surprised at the amount of the increase considering the quotes he sent me, which stated "flat rate". He then said I could give the guys a tip and just add it on to the check. I gave them each $30 because they worked hard, making the total $690. I am ok recommending them because the guys were very helpful and worked hard to please us. I gave them 3 stare because of disorganization and the large change in the bill. I would just suggest that if you use them that you get a clear picture of the timing and the bill. And be sure to let them know you expect a written bill at the end of the move. read more
