After my 5-star experience with Ken, I expected great service from him again but was disappointed. After my home remodeling, I requested Ken to replace almost 20 door handles and locks. He told me the plates that came with the new door handles didn't fit the latch holes. So Ken ordered the door handle plates and also the plate for a dead bolt latch to be delivered to my house. I paid Ken in full even though the installations weren't fully completed. I discovered the plate for the dead bolt latch was too big for the hole. I left Ken messages asking for his help but he never returned my calls. read more

This is a great guy running a great business. I could tell after ten seconds on the phone that I was dealing with a friendly honest person who knew his craft. We had purchased an antique dresser and found the bottom drawer was locked and we had no key. Ken came over and after spending twenty minutes fiddling with it he discovered that it was actually not locked but the wood had swollen and stuck. We thanked him and ask what his fee was for visiting our house and his time. He replied "you don't owe me anything" and refused to take any money. Amazing and quick service. I had contacted another locksmith a few months ago about putting a deadbolt on my back door. That quote was nearly $200! Two hours ago I received a letter from my homeowners association notifying me of a burglary in our neighborhood and to pay extra attention. I knew it was time to get that deadbolt on the back door. Wow what great customer service! Ken came sooner than he said he would come. Made me free copies of keys and made my toddler's day by allowing him to be his helper. These guys are great ! Our doorknob has been sticking for a while and after calling Ken's Locksmith. They came over fixed our doorknob with a little cardboard and done in less than 10 minutes. We were locked out of my Mom's house because both her and her husband forgot the key. They are getting up there in age and forgetfulness is a thing now. I called Ken and within 15 minutes he arrived. He struggled with the front door but managed to get us into the broken garage door! Ken should get 6 stars or more. He is friendly, witty, kind, and provides excellent prompt service. We bought a west side fixer upper and never had keys to the front door. Ken came out and fixed that and more. My 2 year old really enjoyed his company and he was delightful to chat with. I would say his prices are more than reasonable and he gave us an UNBELIEVABLE deal. I was excited to find someone to rekey a lock from the 1800s. He insisted the only time he could make it was 5pm that day with nothing available the next day. We rearranged our schedule to accommodate. By 6pm, no call / no text, saying he couldn't make it or was running late. I called him twice at 6pm and he said the appointment was for the next day, before he hung up on me (twice). I checked our text message and it was clear the appointment was not for the next day, which is what we asked for in the first place, and he said he didn't have anything available then. Then a few minutes later, after hanging up on me, he phoned and didn't apologize for not showing up, and didn't offer an explanation. When asked, he mumbled something about traffic. He said he hung up on me because he was "in an important conversation". Then offered to come out the next day. I said no thank you. Not sure what's going on here... maybe young and irresponsible?
