Ken is great! I'm new in town and found him on yelp.com and liked the reviews, so I gave him a call. I asked him to install a new lock on a patio gate, but he suggested using an old lock (which I hadn't even noticed) that was on the bottom. The old lock was missing some parts, but Ken went out to his truck and got the parts immediately. He moved the lock up to the top, put the new parts in, and voila! Problem solved for much less money. He is a genuinely friendly and professional man. I asked Ken for a recommendation for window tinting and he gave me the name and number of the man who did his home and car windows. Ken is the man. I called Ken and scheduled an appointment to have a failed dead bolt replaced and several other dead bolts and passage sets re-keyed to one key at my new house. He made time to come to West Marin and was there right on the dot. He had exactly what he needed for the job, clearly explained a couple of alternatives for how to deal with one lock that had a different key type than the others. He did not try to sell me the more expensive approach. (I chose it anyway because, for me, it was clearly a better way to deal with the problem.) He spent the time necessary to do the work right including carefully adjusting the seating of the new lockset so that it operated smoothly. He checked everything carefully and charged a very modest price for all the work and new locks. His work, attitude and pricing are clearly "as good as it gets"--5 stars. read more

I had a small cabinet within a sideboard that I had locked. I had always placed the key in the same spot for the last 25 years. When I went to open the cabinet this week, I could not find the key. Left a message for Ken before business hours in the morning and a got a call back within an hour - And he had fixed our broken deadbolt that had us locked out of the house within an hour after that, and even re-keyed the new lock to match the existing keys. UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL & UNTRUSTWORTHY!!! I unfortunately cannot share in the positive reviews before me. He came and renewed my moms front door lock at her apartment. Everything WAS going good until he lied. Two things were of the utmost importance. 1. That the lock could not be picked. 2. She had the only keys. Ken did yes she did. Well, Ken LIED!!! He had given the leasing agent a key in a stack of business cards. Supposedly that's not his protocol. But as to why he did it, we can't get an answer. My mom called him firsr. No answer, no phone call back. I called him. But got no explanation. And that's all I wanted. Sent him an email. No response!!! I'm EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!! All I wanted was an explanation. I guess he doesn't feel we deserve one. I just wonder how he would feel if someone did that to HIS mother??? He had NO IDEA of the situation that is going on, and why she needed this done!!!! Ken, what a great guy! I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone! I called him after I locked myself out of my bedroom but it was just before closing time and he wasn't going to be able to come until the next morning. So I called around some other places, which weren't available, then called him back to schedule for the morning since he seemed like the best price, and he said well he'd come right over!
