    Cashew clusters

I was passing by, and stopped at this place on an impulse. I got some chicken legs. The poultry was of good quality. They even removed the skin from the legs. Prices were reasonable. I also took some cashew clusters which was good. I thought price for that was reasonable as well. They have babcock's ice cream, but in the freezer isle. They don't scoop it.

No house made meat sticks but I have never had this one

This place was not far from where I was so as I'm always looking for meat shops I decided to stop by and get some items to put in my cooler and take home. The place looks like it might be old school with the design of the building. The people were friendly at the counters. My hi hopes were quickly dashed as I looked around because it's a meat shop like the big grocery stores on a smaller scale so it's really a small town grocery store. This is not a meat shop that makes or smokes meats with cheeses and various homemade items like I look for. They have plenty of frozen store items like any grocery store. The fresh meat counter is like a Hi Vee with fresh meats and pre cooked items like bbq ribs etc etc. No house made meat sticks so I left with a mass produced package. The shop is absolutely fine but not the style meat shop I seek out.

So good I want to marrie it

If you love steak, you'll love Ken's. I take that back. If you love meat PERIOD, you'll love Ken's. They have the best steaks ever, and the chicken breasts are huge. Their brats are really good, as are the rubbed pork grillers. They have a variety of other picnic staples like potato salads and macaroni salads and some produce. Then, add to all that, they have a convenience store attached so you can buy some pop or beer or whatever. My personal favorites are the burgandy pepper steaks. It just doesn't get any better.

Maybe one of the best businesses in Madison. Great quality and price especially in the deli. So kind and welcoming too.

Many varieties available, salads are really good too. Always busy but fast service and results make the waiting time worth it.

Spark Spices- the spice blends are AMAZING 4. Natalie's Greenhouse- the fresh veggies and hanging basket flowers are top notch!

You can even score some rare items like ghost and fatali peppers toward the end of the summer. I like the new decor in all the new stores, but I think I like this one because it fits Monona. Not the corporate scheme. Makes it feel like it was at a kinder era. Not to blather on about the misperception of the magaTs, but it does have a nice feel. Today's service was far more energetic than most. The old guy who served my sandwich is great. He even messed it up and made an apology. Such a solid move. It was minor, he merely forgot the jalapeños, but instead of letting it go and I would later discover it, he informed me. I'm not in a rush, which is rarely my mode, so I asked and he corrected the situation. Few people would be so simply put off. Eye rolling and annoyance for having a customer actually receive their product as they expected it. I was going to add a photo of a great sign on the wall, but I see I have already done it before. I'm only doing 4 stars because I feel that I have been giving away that 5th star too often. This place certainly deserves it. Never mind, I'm gonna do it anyway

My last new years resolution was to stop shopping at Wal-Marts and Sams Clubs, FOREVER. A half a year later, I am still sticking to it and finding it easier and easier to not go back with every week that passes. My reasons for doing this are simple. The types of people they hire show no interest in excelling to reach customer satisfaction. The Wal-Mart business is just too dam big. The customer is no longer valued as such, ...a customer. The shelves are stocked with garbage that comes from China or just not worth buying. POINT: If you have healthy feet, do NOT buy footwear from Wal-Mart. Many products aren't as labeled, ...example being men's belts labeled as genuine leather. The clearance aisles in some, or all of the Wal-Marts can be a deceptive joke. Some items have been found actually priced higher than the standard going price elsewhere. And this is supposed to be clearance? Do they actually believe that some customers won't stand right there in that Aisle and not go online and check items for the going prices elsewhere? News flash! Customers aren't stupid. The self checkout technology. I'm sorry. Customers buy your products and you want them to do the stores job without getting a discount for doing it? That don't fly in my eyes. That's just another disrespectful Wal-Mart slap across the customers faces. I'll patronize establishments that respect me enough to use live human cashiers, ...thank you very much. Cutting third shift away from customer shopping. Another self inflicted injury business decision. And again, not thinking about the customer. Groceries. At Wal-Mart, the unhealthy groceries outweigh the healthy groceries. High fructose corn syrup, aspartame, sodium & sugar levels and other synthetic additives are easier to find here than in other grocery stores. The entire cold cereal aisle is junk. Cereals you won't find in other countries like Germany because they've been banned, restricted or outlawed. The pharmacy. Wal-Mart has made the decision to stock their vitamin shelves with vitamins lacking 'GMP' stamps and 'Lab Tested' stamps on the rear labels. Read the ingredients on some of their vitamin bottles. These are things I can't change. But, I can stop shopping here! And I did! Wal-Mart is just too dam big. The customer doesn't matter to them anymore. Incessant Research
