I felt the spirit rekindle within me and was in awe of the fellowship amongst the church member that were present at Allen Anderlie's farewell. The peace I felt after experiencing so much turmoil recently in my life refreshed my being with renewed hope. What was exceptionally welcoming to me was that this is a very contemporary approach to the word of God that I have been seeking for a long time. Brought up Baptist at an early age, Lutheran in my teens and later as I married my first husband I changed to Episcopalian, I either hear Hell and brimstone or had my head covered and followed strict theological standards. This church made me feel as though God knew me and had an approach that was personal. The sermon was beautiful and to the point, without boredom but with relationship with the present day. Pastor Kent Clark seems to be approachable, sincere, caring, and in touch with the present world around him. I wish I could attend this church but the distance is further than I can manage, but anyone seeking what I believe to be a place to have a wonderful modern approach to the word of God, I highly recommend this Church and Pastor. They preach right from wrong always and do not waver! Such was the situation. I felt completely unsafe. This church is 100% not following covid regulations. Great, there's a hand sanitizer machine in the lobby, but other than that, very little precaution was taken. I counted maybe three people wearing masks, and one lady, who I guessed to be in her eighties - I heard her almost apologizing to people that she was protecting herself. people were also seated just too close together. A few pews were roped off here and there, as a mere formality, as everyone else in the remaining pews was crammed together. As far as the church service, I felt it was a meeting of the mutual adoration society. Any Scripture reading was limited to the last 10 minutes, which was just a couple of lines taken from here and there in the pastor didn't seem to be able to connect them. Everyone seemed friendly, so I won't give them one star only, but if you really want to go somewhere to hear the word of God in a meaningful way, look elsewhere. If you just like to sing (um, I thought that was a covid no to sing as a group?) and say "Amen," well, maybe it's for you.
