This amazing…read moreindependent bookstore is located on Broadway, across the street from the old capitol building. Stepping inside this bookstore was simply magical and gave yesteryear vibes. The building's character, the flooring, the smell, the stacks and ladders, the cozy size, the well-placed seating throughout for relaxing and reading, and the helpful and knowledgable staff come together to provide a book store experience like no other. The store sells new and used books and everything from current best sellers and children's books to historical books. After browsing the downstairs, a trip up the steps to the attic brings a large selection of antique and historical books, magazines, and documents. In addition to books there are hand-drawn cards, mugs, book-related gifts and so much more. Do allow plenty of time to browse during your visit (adventure!) to Old Richard's. The bookstore has an indoor walkthrough to the Coffeetree Cafe next next door, which is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee drink and flip through your book purchases!

The service was really nice. There are a lot of older books and not as many newer books. I did think that the sections were well organized and alphabetized so it made it easier to search through. The prices were good as well. It's a nice place to come and browse and look for a hidden gem of a read.

It made me…read moremiss Hawley Cooke that used to be in Louisville, but this place is spectacular with all that it offers. Books, unique gift items, upscale clothing, etc. Just too much to mention. We really enjoyed wandering around the store and purchased a few eclectic and interesting items. Would love to return when in the area again.
