Great place to get tires, great service, and the Art is the man! I would highly recommend calling here first before going anywhere else

    Joe May's Towing And Repair

Joe Mays Towing came to my home in the middle of the night and towed my car from the parking lot…read morewithout cause. I've parked in the same spot every single day for the past two years with no issues. I got home from work around 8 PM, parked as usual, and when I went outside at 8 AM to leave for work, my car was gone. They towed my vehicle 10 miles away and then charged me $300 to get my own car back. The person who claimed to be the manager was extremely rude during the entire interaction. He told me my car was towed because my permit "wasn't shown," even though it absolutely was. He also admitted they towed another car because the permit was "hidden," which tells me they are not even properly checking for permits before towing people's vehicles. When I questioned their pricing, he said that if I needed a tow from the side of the road it would be a "different rate," but refused to tell me what that rate even is. Completely sketchy and suspicious behavior. The fact that they can't or won't provide the standard roadside tow rate raises more concerns about the legitimacy of the $300 charge. I also asked for an itemized receipt and proof that my permit supposedly "wasn't there," and they refused to provide either. That alone says everything about how they operate. This was completely unnecessary, stressful, and expensive--especially when my permit was visible the whole time. Their behavior shows a lack of care, professionalism, and accuracy when towing from residential areas.

I can say that I highly do not recommend this towing company. We initially thought the tow truck…read moredriver was very nice and listened and responded well until we find out that he lied to our faces, did not explain a thing to us as we wanted out car towed to Penske (knowing they can but apparently want to double dip payments) after speaking with the managers there that we know. the driver told us no problem and I will speak with my boss and call you if anything changes which he did not. He then proceeded to lie about his interaction with us and my father (who is a stern man to begin with) and say my dad got in his face, which did not happen and we yelled at him. Again another lie. We just we're in a car accident, our car a mess and we're emotions running? absolutely but we were not rude. we find out our car was indeed not towed to Penske and taken to there lot where they now want a bill paid to be towed there and the guy on the phone (said boss I presume) preceeded to scream over me and try to continuously interrupt me trying to nicely explain what happened the night prior and that unfortunately his driver lied to him about our interaction. Even after complimenting that the driver was in fact super nice when picking up the car. Mind you this company was recommended by a family member so we went with them. We know better for next time.

On the night of November 6th 2022, at approximately 8:15 pm I was traveling north on interstate 81…read morein Pennsylvania, about 50 miles south of the interstate 78 split. When in my rear view mirror I noticed a truck tailgating and flashing their high beams at the motorists behind me. "Pushing" other motorists out of their way. Specifically an Arndt's Towing and Recovery flat bed, more specifically a newer all white Kenworth with a NRC rollback body (Truck 16) being operated by a white male who appeared to be in his mid 30's with a beard. This section of I-81 is only two lanes. After witnessing the driver of truck 16 of Arndt's towing bully his way past other motorist he pulled up behind me, attempting to intimidate me through the same methods I had just witness him use. Now mind you I am traveling in the left lane on an interstate traveling 80-85 miles per hour. The right lane is congested with tractor trailers preventing him from passing on the right. Fortunately my vehicle is equipped high beam blocking mirrors preventing him from blinding me while driving. I am sure the other motorists weren't as lucky. Frustrated the driver inches closer to me at multiple points the Arndt's Towing rollback was less than 24 inches off my rear bumper while still flashing their high beams, not only put my life safety at risk but all the other motorists around him. I would also like to make clear at no point did I ever brake check the driver, knowing very well that if I had brake checked him, the resulting damage would be my fault. At one point my lane of travel had began to slow down so the driver had moved over to the right lane attempted to overtake me but could not due to a tractor trailer blocking him. So the Arndt's driver thought that it would be a good idea to pull up next to me and try to swerve at me, which I can only think was an attempt to try and run me off the road, and after reading previous reviews this is not the only time this has happened. Mind you we are still traveling between 75-80 miles per hour, way faster than a CDL truck should be traveling anyway. Now what the driver did not know is that I myself drive a CDL rollback truck, and I know all of the tricks, I don't use them myself but I know them. So when he attempted to run me off the road I was unfazed, at one point he crossed the line (failing to maintain lane) and was 10 inches or less from my right fender. While he was attempting to scare me I was thinking the front of my car could use a new coat of paint courtesy of Arndt's. Now had this been a less experienced driver or an elderly driver, they would have easily swerved in an attempt to avoid colliding with the rollback and crashed and even caused death. The driver ever more frustrated drops back and begins to throw things at my car. I cannot say what was thrown, (I am guessing that it was full to half-full water bottles) striking my car on two different occasions. I was unable to record the driver throwing this at me, but I was able to record the driver flipping me off and gesturing me to pull over and I am assuming fight him. His aggression continued for over an hour until he exited off of interstate 78 East at exit 17. This type of behavior is unacceptable and your company should be ashamed of employing such a terrible human, not only because of the multiple laws that were broken, just to travel a few miles per hour faster, but due to the fact if this continues that driver will push an old lady off the road and KILL someone.
