Delicious Ice cream and they offer a wide array of dairy products. We love playing mini golf here in the summertime and seeing the goats out back. Kerber's is a great place for families to stop for a special treat!

Place hasn't changed in 30 years and that's not a bad thing. My kids love the opportunity to go to Kerber's for ice cream.

I discovered this place from a quick Google search, and am so glad that I did. The shop is situated on a back road, but has plenty of parking and is easy to locate. There is a nice porch with some outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday evening in April, and it was not terribly crowded. The line moved fast and service was prompt. All of the girls working were nice and professional. It seemed like one of the girls was in training, and even with this the service was great. Being that it was my first time visiting, I had a lot of questions about the menu. The girl cashiering was kind and willing to answer all of my questions, as well as give product suggestions. We both opted for parfaits with the vanilla custard - the Apple Pie and the Strawberry Pretzel. They were huge and so delicious!!! We also got a pup cup to-go for our dog, and he loved that as well. I thought the prices of everything were very fair, and it is a fantastic value for the quality of product received. In addition to the custard offerings, there is a gift shop to patronize. There is a lot of country-themed gift and novelty items, and it was fun to peruse while waiting in line to order. There also were various other types desserts (pies, cookies, cupcakes, and more), as well as pepperoni rolls, for purchase. I believe these are all homemade by the business! There really is an offering for everyone here. This place is truly a hidden gem! I can't wait to visit again and try some different items, and maybe even some baked goods.

My husband got cookies and cream, very good. I god the death by chocolate which was the perfect name for it. And the scholars chip was very good as well. Overall the flavors are your personal preference but the actual ice cream itself is high quality. Doesn't just taste like sugar, has a thickness to it that I love over the soft serve. Has perfect sized chunks of things. I would go here again and again. It was $8.50 for 2 scoops which ended up being like a pint of ice cream so it's a tad pricey but honestly Im happy to pay for the quality you're getting since it's not like I'd eat this every day. Service was great. One girl took my husbands order and then another took mine so no one was just standing around. Happy to have this nearby.

Having grown up in Jefferson Hills, I have been to Al's Cone Zone more times than I can remember…read more It is a classic, reasonably priced establishment that is beloved by locals and visitors alike. Al's is located on State Route 885 in Jefferson Hills, just to the right of the entrance to 885 Park and Baseball Fields. The building is a bright blue, and covered with fun paintings of ice cream and other items they sell. So, you definitely will not miss it. It is a seasonal operation that usually runs from sometime in March to sometime in October. There is a ton of parking here. You will find some spots in front of the windows. Due to no fault of Al's, I personally find these a little difficult to get in and out of, just with the nature of 885 as a road. To the right of the building, there is a large parking lot, with spaces much easier to get in and out of. Al's purchased this parcel a few years ago, and made it into an expanded lot. There is a walkway leading to the building right from this lot. This visit in particular was this past September. I was in the area eating dinner, so I decided to stop by Al's for dessert on the way back. I arrived around 8:50 PM, and they closed at 9:00, so naturally there was not much of a wait at this time. The store is a classic outdoor ice cream stand. Meaning that you walk up and order at the windows, and there is no indoor seating. However, there are plenty of benches and picnic tables on either side of the building. Depending on the time of day that you visit, these might be full, so next best thing would be to tailgate at your car! I have tried a large amount of the menu here over the years, and there are a lot of great items. The Tornadoes are huge, and there are so many toppings available to mix in. Cones and dishes are gigantic, regardless of the size. I like the Ice Cream Sandwiches, particularly the ones with either the Chocolate Chip Cookie or the Peanut Butter Cookie. Milkshakes are tasty as well. In the fall, they will have Pumpkin Ice Cream, and tend to have other specials throughout the spring and summer. I have personally never tried the food items, but I imagine they are good! On this visit, I kept it rather simple with a Small Vanilla Cake Cone with Cherry Dip. As I said, the cones are very generous, so I normally stick to a small size. This one was a little porous and uniquely shaped, but that does not matter so long as it tastes good. It definitely did! The person who waited on me was friendly and quick. I understand it can be annoying to have customers so close to closing time, but I appreciated their demeanor and service on this day. The value here is pretty great. Most of the items are soft-serve, so naturally it will be less than hand-scooped ice cream. My cone was under $5, and that included getting the add-on of dip. Al's has always been a crazy good value, and I believe they still are. In the past few years, they also started to take cards. So, no reason not to stop by! Some bonus aspects of Al's are that they will give you a free Pup Cup with your purchase. My dog loves ice cream, so I take advantage of this often. Also, they offer a Punch Card if you ask for one when placing your order. So, if you buy 10 items, you will get one free once you present the card. I have always been a fan of Al's, and now try to stop by whenever I can. I do not live as close anymore, but it is still worth it to come by every once in a while for some delicious treats. The owner is very kind, as well as all of the staff. The product is good, and there really is something for everyone here. Plus, the atmosphere and overall value really bring it over the top. If you find yourself in the Jefferson Hills/Clairton/West Mifflin area anytime soon, make sure to stop by Al's!

It's difficult to find good customer service but no matter who has waited on us here, they are always friendly and helpful. The employees are the typical younger people who are usually working the local ice cream establishments but what is unique is that they are all smiling, polite, clean and friendly so kudos to the staff here, you are appreciated! You really make a difference and stand out from some of the other ice cream shops. This is the perfect place to come for burgers and soft serve ice cream, although they have other food options and treats too. The burgers are made from local beef which may not matter to some but I love to support local! I always try their specialty burgers since they offer a unique flavor twist with different sauces, cheeses, and toppings (for example: fried onion straws, aiolis, egg, slaw, etc) You won't get just an ordinary burger at all. The fries are just the way I like them too, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The ice cream never disappoints, I love trying their unique flavor options. The Belgian waffle sundae with strawberries is one of my favorites. It's great to have a casual food and ice cream shop that also has unique options. You never get bored with the same thing (unless you get "hooked" on a favorite that you can't stop ordering). One of the best things about this location is the outdoor seating options. There is a covered pavilion area with tables and also tables with umbrellas to keep your ice cream out of the sun so it doesn't melt as fast haha. Really, it's the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful day and some delicious food. The tables and benches are always clean and kept in good condition which is a big deal for me.
