I would give this zero stars if I could…read more.. The owner Matt is a joke! Reserved this on June from Booking.com and I called today, September 7th to confirm instructions for the door. He calls me back, yelling, saying he "tried" to get a hold of me several times to cancel but in Booking.com it showed it was still booked. I called booking.com and they told me that he never informed them that my reservation was cancelled. So... he cancelled my reservation after he found out that a music festival was the same weekend I booked so he can raise his prices. What a dishonest piece of shit! If I didnt called today, I would've drove 4 hours, to find out I didnt have a place to stay. To top it off, because he didn't inform Booking.com, my funds would've still been taken out from my credit card! I had to demand booking.com to call him while I was on the phone to cancel it on his end, because my reservation was still confirmed. Again, what a joke of a person you are! Because this guy is so shady, I wouldnt be surprised if there were hidden cameras all over the place! The pictures are from his responses on another platform, deleting my reviews

When we arrived we were greeted by Scott and after a quick run through and tour of the house we went to our room, The Jesse & Rhoda room. The room was so charming and perfect for our needs. We spent the next few hours roaming around their land. They have beautiful walking trails and a pond with fish. There's turkeys, dogs, kittens, and cows to become friends with. They turned their barn into the Bar/n which is a super cool hangout space with TVs, dartboard, and an amazing bar. You can bring your own alcohol and I could see this being an amazing place to bring a group of friends. While we were in the Bar/n chickens and kittens were roaming around. It was so charming. There is an option to add dinner to your stay for $25 a person. You must add this to your reservation! We were able to enjoy and amazing surf and turf dinner with the owners with amazing homemade bread, celery salad from their garden, and amazing fruit crisp. Their beef is from the cattle they raise in their property. Don't even get me started on breakfast the next morning. It was just as good! We will definitely be returning for another staycation!

*MUST VISIT FALL ACTIVITY*…read more Louisberg Cider Mill is such a gem and a charming little place to visit! Just 25-30 minutes away from Overland Park and surrounding areas. The parking is easy, and during fall they have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and family activities - currently they have opened up their activities space from 12th Sept. The parking area to the left is geared towards the fall activity and on the right you will find the country store itself along with hard cider booth, Food truck and a tiny Mill itself. Since it was 90° outside, I skipped the activities and went into the store directly. The rest of the year, the country store and mill are open I believe. It was my very first cider mill experience. And I couldn't have picked up a better place than this one - absolutely fell in love!! The store feels like walking straight into fall ... the smell inside the store will make you nostalgic instantly. The store shelves were stocked with everything from fruit butters,BBQ sauces, Loose Teas, Jams ,Preserves to pancake/donut/cake mixes, ciders, and wines along with seasonal decor and kids stuff. I couldn't help but feel like a kid again lol. I left with strawberry rhubarb preserve, Dutch apple preserve, apple butter, orchard blend hard cider, and the donuts off course. NOTE - Since I am a diabetic, I'm always searching for food items which has no extra sugar added, and I found that many of the preserves butters had no extra sugar added ... it was a win-win situation for me. The donuts are warm, golden, dusted with Sugar, and extremely soft inside. It 100% answered the question like if fall had a flavor then this could be it - very cinnamony and cider like. The Dutch apple preserves were full of crisp apple chunks huge ones, the strawberry rhubarb preserve was also perfectly made and the apple butter had a deep caramelized flavor and my husband loved the hard cider for being crisp and slight sweetness. Right next door is the mill itself, with displays of cider-making equipment and baskets of fresh apples. There's also outdoor seating to eat the purchased food. I'll definitely going to be back when the temperature cools down to explore the pumpkin patch and the corn maze. If you're anywhere near Kansas City, this place is a MUST fall activity. Even if you just go for the donuts, it's worth the trip.

My littles are 5 and under and they loved the corn kernel pit, the hay ride, and all the animals! And of course we ended our trip with an apple cider donut! We went early in the morning so there weren't too many people yet, which was nice! It was also a pretty hot day, so we got an apple cider slushy to cool us down!

There's lots of stuff here for kids (carousel, trampoline blob, playground, petting zoo), and lots of food and drink stands that I unfortunately can't say anything about since we didn't check them out. It was also very muddy, but there's nothing that can be done about that really. Lots of cute spaces for photo ops! The petting zoo was my favorite part honestly.

Admission was a little pricey but it felt worth it with everything they had. We went on a Saturday morning and it was packed. Our friends had to wait at least 1 hour for their food. They had plenty of photo ops which I took apart of. I will say, it was a group of 21+ so we were veryyyyy underwhelmed with the activities since most of them were kid focused. I did take advantage of the carousel and unashamedly got on there! It was a good time :) The farm was huge and I wished we had some kind of map that was either digital or on hand because a few time we could not find anything and I was SEARCHINGGGGGG for a couple things. Make sure to bring your own snacks, get there early and go before the pumpkins go bad.

They still do blueberry picking in June, so keep eyes on their socials and website. Maybe it's the Kansas in my blood, but it's really, really beautiful around this farm (much more so than nearby Missouri farms). Rolling hills, green tree canopies, dirt roads and big sky all while being surprisingly close to Lawrence. This farm was such a fun experience to pick strawberries at, and I'll go step-by-step in just a sec, but I have to shout out that I really appreciated the simplicity of this experience. Some of the u-picks and pumpkin patches go overboard with cheesy rides, hastily-made plywood games, etc. Some may love those, I don't always. I prefer to let the nature and friendly people around provide the fun, and Wohletz shines in that regard. Bring cash! That's important and while the berries are priced fairly, you don't want to be stuck with a basket you can't cover. Again, we gravitate to this area a lot anyways, but the rural land around Lawrence really is a special place. I'm just now realizing we drive up this way for strawberries in the spring, trail runs in the summer, pumpkin picking at Schaake's Pumpkin Patch in the fall, and cut a Christmas tree at Strawberry Hill Tree Farm in the winter. Enjoy Wohletz and if you miss their prime picking season, they are also available at the OP Farmers Market on most days!
