You can hitch a ride on one of the tractor-pulled carts or hoof it yourself, just through the play areas and up the gentle slope. Berries are poppin' in May, so getcha a box and get to hunting! Hot tip: the best berries seem to be in the middle. A flat box runs you $0.75 and the berry price is a bit over $5/lb. If you just can't stop picking, then you'll fill a flat quickly and you're rewarded with maybe $40 worth of strawberry goodness. These berries are so worth it! Clean, sweet, and just ripe for the picking! Gieringers does other berries (blackberries, blueberries, etc.) but those are best picked well into the summer. The service is awesome, whether it's help with parking or a lift to & from the berry patch, the staff is always helpful and easy to find. Great enterprise and great fun!

After a quick google search, I found Sunflower Orchard and was glad it wasn't too far of a drive. When we arrived, I will admit I was a bit disappointed by the size of the trees. I was hoping for large trees that the kids would have to climb up to get. The disappointment was short-lived because as soon as I tasted their fuji apple I was so excited to try other varieties. We grabbed a couple bags and went to explore their orchard and discovered some new varieties. Our favorites were the ultragold and winecrisp. There was a candy crisp that the kids also liked. I would highly recommend everyone to add Sunflower Orchard to their list of fall traditions!

I was amazed at the never ending rows of apple trees - this place is huge! They do charge to go pick the apples, but it's only $5 and that gets you access to the whole farm which includes: you-pick apples, corn maze, pumpkin patch, kids play area, wagon rides, and more! If you are not up for that, there are pre-picked apples in the market for sale and you don't have to pay the entrance fee. I also didn't do any of the kid's play things or ride the wagon and I found the $5 fee absolutely worth it. I would pay that just to walk the premises and take it all in! The whole place is beautiful. Plus, for however many people are in your group, you get that many pounds of apples free (my husband and I got 2 free pounds). There's just nothing like a fresh picked apple straight from the tree! Even the most expensive apples at the grocery store do not compare to the flavor and the experience at Pome on The Range! I highly recommend a visit and I have told all my friends and family to check this place out! ;)

It's a great little escape from Kansas City that's under an hour drive from downtown itself. They have: -Tons of pumpkins -A maze -Goats, chickens, horses, pigs, and other animals -Cider slushies, candies, and fall goodies While we most recently visited on a Monday (kids were off school), the weekends are where it's at here. They have more food options, pony rides, and other fun stuff for the kids. It's understandably quieter during the week. Oh and let's not forget the overall setting: bucolic, relaxing, and pretty beautiful for Missouri countryside is I may say so myself. I totally see why people get married here.

I realize outside is a little safer but I don't want to be forced onto a wagon with strangers who may not be wearing masks. This review is more for people who are wondering about their guidelines and if it's safe. They do usually have pre-picked pumpkins for sale that you don't have to ride a wagon to get to which is nice but I think I'll have to find a pumpkin patch that has some actual guidelines for Covid this year.

The parking is easy, and during fall they have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and family activities - currently they have opened up their activities space from 12th Sept. The parking area to the left is geared towards the fall activity and on the right you will find the country store itself along with hard cider booth, Food truck and a tiny Mill itself. Since it was 90° outside, I skipped the activities and went into the store directly. The rest of the year, the country store and mill are open I believe. It was my very first cider mill experience. And I couldn't have picked up a better place than this one - absolutely fell in love!! The store feels like walking straight into fall ... the smell inside the store will make you nostalgic instantly. The store shelves were stocked with everything from fruit butters,BBQ sauces, Loose Teas, Jams ,Preserves to pancake/donut/cake mixes, ciders, and wines along with seasonal decor and kids stuff. I couldn't help but feel like a kid again lol. I left with strawberry rhubarb preserve, Dutch apple preserve, apple butter, orchard blend hard cider, and the donuts off course. NOTE - Since I am a diabetic, I'm always searching for food items which has no extra sugar added, and I found that many of the preserves butters had no extra sugar added ... it was a win-win situation for me. The donuts are warm, golden, dusted with Sugar, and extremely soft inside. It 100% answered the question like if fall had a flavor then this could be it - very cinnamony and cider like. The Dutch apple preserves were full of crisp apple chunks huge ones, the strawberry rhubarb preserve was also perfectly made and the apple butter had a deep caramelized flavor and my husband loved the hard cider for being crisp and slight sweetness. Right next door is the mill itself, with displays of cider-making equipment and baskets of fresh apples. There's also outdoor seating to eat the purchased food. I'll definitely going to be back when the temperature cools down to explore the pumpkin patch and the corn maze. If you're anywhere near Kansas City, this place is a MUST fall activity. Jalapeño Honey: very spicy! Sweet and spicy honey can go with anything! From drizzling it over baked salmon at the last minutes of cooking to putting it on top of biscuits! Habanero honey: definitely more for people that can't take the heat, but just want a tid bit to satisfy their spicy craving! I will also definitely come back to try out their essential oil soap's because they smell so good and some of them actually even have raw honey in them. The owner and his wife own a farm and I love love love love that all their products are 100% natural. They had so much to offer for the kids, jump pad, zip lines, carousel (on weekends), goats and even a unique treehouse play area. I had never seen a treehouse set up like that, made me jealous and want to get in with them! We loved the big chair and swing for pictures! We didn't get the opportunity to pick any cherries (they are in season in June) as it was way too hot out, but I would love to come back in the fall and do some pumpkin picking!
