I received a certificate as a gift for xmas (from my hubby - so nice). It was $100 for two…read moretreatments. I chose the hand & foot treatment and a massage. Making the appointment was easy. They had weekend times available which was very nice. I arrived 5 minutes early. The building isn't fancy (actually a little dark inside), but easy to find. The spa is located in the basement of the building. The office door is locked, but that didn't bother me much. You could see the check in desk and I was greeted by friendly faces. I had to fill out a form, but then was taken in quickly. I had a nice lady named Cheryl for my spa experience. I was moved into a room. I suspect Cheryl doesn't normally do the hand and foot treatment. She was certainly nice enough, but a bit disorganized. She had me paraffin my hands and then said "oh, I should have had you remove your socks and shoes first". But, she happily helped me along. She placed my hand in paraffin, then in a bag and then in a heated pocket. It felt pretty good, but I got hot pretty quick. I was sitting on a wood bench. Less than comfortable would be a good description. She left to get water for a foot soaker. It looked like the one I have at my house. Certainly wasn't fancy and was a bit awkward to soak your feet from the hard bench, but got through it. I did not complain, as I wanted to see how things progressed. The foot spa did not have bubbles or massage jets, it was loud and didn't seem to do much. This was NOT a pedicure, but a simple foot soak and exfoliation. This is where I think things went a bit south for me. I have issues with bare feet -- I don't walk anywhere outside my home in bare feet. Maybe that's something that only bothers me, but who knows. She had me step out of the foot bath (she did dry my feet first) and step on the carpet. If they didn't have slippers, a towel would have been appreciated. She then told me to jump up on the massage table and lay down. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I followed directions. My hand are still in warm mitts and I'm enjoying myself, so okay I'll do what you say. She put a mask on my feet (don't know - I couldn't see it as I was lying down). And while she was waiting a time frame for the feet and the hands - she massaged my head. AMAZING -- this is where Cheryl was a shinning star. She finished the hands and feet and told me to disrobe to where I was comfortable and hop up on the table. I did so. I am not a small woman (size 16-18) and sometimes the beds are not wide enough for my arms to be by my side, but this one was. Bonus. She did everything right from here on out. I don't like to talk during the massage and she was silent. That was great. She used the exact right amount of pressure. That was great. She worked area's that were bothering me without being told. That was great. I've had quite a few massages in my time, this was probably the second best one I've ever had and I would go back in a heartbeat. She gave me the full 100 minutes (50 minutes for each treatment - but I suspect I got a longer massage and quicker hand/foot treatment which was fine by me). I gave her my certificate when I was checking out -- quick and simple -- that was also nice. I know this is a bit long, but since it's the first one on the company, I felt I should be thorough. There were a few things that could have been better, but they were little things. Overall, the experience was terrific.
