I too will throw my five stars into the fray. Compulsive Salon is a very cool salon with talented people, but Eli is why I show up. Eli came highly recommended from many people so needless to say getting a quick appointment was not an easy thing to do but was well worth the wait! The salon is very comfortable, the look, the feel, the ambiance and the overall service at Compulsive Salon s exemplary. I can't say enough about Eli as a stylist. He truly is one of a kind. I've never been so happy every time I walk out of a salon until Eli. He takes time to understand exactly what I want and then makes experienced suggestions that give me a whole new perspective on how great my hair can be. Absolutely love compulsive salon. Booking an appointment is so easy and the staff there are so nice! I've been going to this salon for about a year and a half and Priscilla is my stylist. She is FANTASTIC!! I've never been good at describing how I want my hair styled, but somehow she always gets it perfect and I leave so happy! I got a keratin treatment and it was good for the first few days and not even 4 weeks later my hair is back to curly and like it was before. This is the second time I have done this and the first I had no problem's. But paying for something that should last 4 to 6 months and only lasting about 4 weeks is not what I paid for. I went here with for my cousins wedding for an updo. All I wanted as a waterfall braid and because I was 10 minutes late, the hair dresser or whatever she wants to call herself told me she didn't have time to do a braid and that she was going to do whatever she wanted. My hair looked like shit. I was very upset and disappointed. I went here thinking that they were going to be professional and wow me because I have heard good things about this place. I am looking for a new hairdresser because mine is leaving the state. I guess I will continue looking because I don't need anybody giving me attitude and telling me they don't know how to do a braid. I don't know what went wrong............I have Stacey at the salon apply my lashes. Last summer I started wearing lashes and I really liked how they looked, they made my eyes pop and having not to wear mascara every day can I say anymore. I got so many compliments on my lashes from co-workers to complete strangers. Stacey had mentioned to me that she recommends her clients take a break and let your natural lashes grow back so I did. I took a long break and went back again this summer but not satisfied. The price for full set of lashes increased and so did the touch ups. My lashes look like crap. Stacey has lost her touch, what used to take 45 min now takes 25 and one eye always has more lashes then the other with clumps and one eye being shorter in length. I will not be returning and looking for another salon. read more

This place is horrible! My daughter had a bad experience when she went there a second time. She usually pays around eighty something dollars with her student discount and was charged this time $175.00. Her appointment was at 4:00 p.m. and she was there till a little after 8:00 p.m. at which point all of the other hairdressers were standing around waiting for her hairdresser to get done because they wanted to close the building. The type of work that she was supposed to get done was get her hair toned, cut and blow dryed but because the hairstylist was in a rush she only got her hair toned and cut and left the place looking like a wet dog. I don't suggest you even take a dog there. My daughter works two jobs and she works very hard for her money and goes to college and she almost feels like she got a bad deal and she was very upset about it. Be careful to all of the young ladies that go there and get taken advantage of moneywise. read more

This review is for eyelash extensions. After going to Stacey at Compulsive for a full set of lashes and multiple follow-ups every two weeks, I decided to go for a consultation with another salon. The reason for this was I thought it could be done better. The lash specialist at the other salon stated that she could not fix my lashes and they would need to be removed. Now, I need to wait a few weeks to get a full set applied because my lashes need to get stronger. Here was the problem with my extensions at Compulsive. The glue didn't dry which left big lumps and some lashes crossed due to this. Instead of Stacey applying lashes to one section of the eye at a time, Stacey from Compulsive did one whole eye at a time. Stacey should have started with the outside corner on one eye and then do the outside corner of the other eye. Then she should have done the middle of one eye and done the middle of they other eye. The reason for this is to give time for the glue to dry. Instead, each eye was done so quickly, the glue did not have time to dry. Also, the width of the eye lash was too wide. I have thin lashes so Stacey should have known what width eyelash to use. The other thing that bothered me was the feel of the lash. They felt plastic and not at all natural. I am not sure if the lashes were from Nova Lash. Stacey may have used a cheaper lash. The price charged for the full set was cheap and the follow-up visit for maintenance was also cheap. The old saying comes to mind "you get what you pay for". I would rather pay more money and have them done right. read more
