Today I finally checked it out and was so pleasantly surprised! Everything tasted so fresh and was so buttery and perfect. This bakery totally reminds me of the panaderias I've been to in Mexico! The conchas are as big as your head and are so soft and spongey! The loaf cakes were some of our favorite items. They come in a huge assortment of flavors. Each flavor was so moist and light we ended up having to buy a few to go for my boyfriends family. They do serve some lunch items like tortas, burritos, and tacos which I do plan on trying next time I'm in Delano. It's probably a good thing that this is in Delano and not in Bakersfield because I would be there all the time. It's nice to see Fil Bake Shop expanding. D'Cafe is fairly new, but the baker knows her stuff. I've had my fair share of goodies from here and I think my favorite is a toss up between the crinkle cookies and the newer item which is the empanada ube hayala. The empanada texture is more like bread versus an empanada to me, but the filling is what makes it really addicting. Everyone in Delano has had the lady fingers at Fil Bake Shop, but has everyone in Delano tried the ube lady fingers from D'Cafe? If you have not tried it yet, then you better get it before it's sold out for the day. Just when you thought the lady fingers was the best thing, they one upped it with ube. FYI if you've never been here before then just know they only take cash. Parking is a little bit crazy, but when you get to the front of the line then you'll be greeted by friendly aunties and uncles waiting to serve you warm/freshly baked bread.

The bakery is super clean and well designed. The desserts are definitely not the kind you would find at other local spots, and it's great to have such a variety available locally. We picked up a carrot cake, a chocolate soufflé cake with wild berry and cream filling, and a pistachio cake with berry and cream filling. They were each packaged in a single serving size, cute container. The cakes were fresh, moist, and the cream topping was perfect! Not too sweet, but just right. We also bought some delicious lemon cupcakes, and a couple of croissant type of pastries that had a cream cheese filling and guava filling. They were fresh, hot, and a treat of flaky goodness. We also got a chocolate cookie that was inspired by one the owners sampled in New York. It's topped with delicious crumbled pistachios and was very good. On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Delano Police received an anonymous call regarding price gouging at Los Michoacanos Bakery, 1213 Jefferson Street. Delano Detective's began investigating the call. It was determined the owners/ managers went to a big box store and purchased a 4 pack the 19oz bottles of Lysol Disinfectant Spray for $15.94. They returned to their store and sold the bottles individually for $17.99. The owners informed Detectives that the Lysol is not a common product the store has for sale. During the investigation, it was also learned the business was selling boxes of Sunny Care disposable latex gloves which they also purchased in bulk at a price of $49.00 for 10 boxes. The individual boxes were being sold for $9.99. This case is being forwarded to the Kern County District Attorney's Office for review. The Delano Police Department is aggressively working with the Kern County District Attorney's Office to protect the citizens of Kern County and the City of Delano from price gouging during the recent National Emergency. Businesses caught price gouging will be held fully responsible and will be prosecuted.
