Terrible customer service. "HELPING PETS", went there to see if they can help take in two adorable…read morepups that were dumped in my yard. Rude lady comes to take a look at them just to say she can not take them in due to them being "sick". Mind you this lady isn't even a vet or technician. They were going to charge me $30 a piece for each of them to intake them. Lady suggested to take them to KCAS instead not knowing they'll probably get killed there and possibly not get adopted.Very unprofessional. Wanting to diagnose these babies without running test or even being certified to say exactly what's going on.Do not come here, waste of time, and clearly only want your money, makes sense coming from a non-profit organization.

If you're looking to adopt a pet, I would highly recommend visiting Bakersfield SPCA's website as I…read morewas told that it is up to date with all of the current animals that are available for adoption! It's a little difficult to get ahold of this place over the phone, but once you do, they only take same day appointments & you have to call on the day you want to visit + hope that there are free appointments. We visited to view cats and were helped shortly after arriving. According to the front desk, if the animal that you're interested in picking up has already been spayed, you can take them home the same day! Or, if they have been, they either try to get them spayed/neutered the next day, or by Tuesdays (as those are their spay/neuter days). We unexpectedly found the perfect little baby to take home, 20 minutes, a bit of paper work + calls to my apartment complex and $100 later, we were given all the paper work / vaccine records + a bag of kitten kibble! Make sure to bring your own carrier if you're really looking to pick up a furry friend on the same day. The only thing I didn't like was finding out afterwards that our little boy hadn't finished his course of vaccines. A friend of mine has adopted cats from an SPCA before & because they hadn't finished having their vaccines, they were able to go in to the facility to finish off their booster shots free of cost.

Who knew that a guinea pig is considered an "exotic" pet. Our son's guinea pig had an accidental…read morelast night around 4:30. We called like 7 different places before finding All critters pet hospital. They couldn't get us in last night, they close at 5, but scheduled us for 8am. We arrived early & they opened at 8, we were 1st in the door. While the Vet checked out our girl, he was kind & engaged well with my son. They examined her, then gave us the estimate, prior to doing anything. Tbh, it was really expensive foot a 10 min exam. Once we decided the plan is care, we were only going to get meds & go home, about $400 but ended up being the xrays which cost an additional $400. When we were going to leave without the xray, they did say that is the pet needs to come back within 7 days, they don't charge for another exam fee, which is 99. We'll gladly take our pets there if ever needed.

I called ahead and they refused to give any pricing over the phone. Already had a bad gut feeling…read morebut took my two male rabbits in anyway. They charged me $99 per bunny just for an "evaluation" ($198 total) to 'discuss' the estimate/ cost for surgery. Then handed me an estimate of $1,477 per rabbit to neuter. That's nearly $3,000 for two standard male rabbit neuters. The facility looked dirty and unprofessional. Felt like a classic bait-and-switch once the animals were already there. Normal rabbit neuters in Bakersfield run $350-500 total, not $1,477 each. They said they had the earliest availability (other 2 vets were 3 and 4 weeks out), so I tried them expecting similar pricing as the other 2 small animal vets in town. This is predatory pricing on exotic pets. I paid the $198 out of karma, I should have just walked out of this scam. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Stay far away from this place and go to a real vet, as this business seems to make their money off evals and poison vaccines, not procedures.
