I cannot say I enjoyed shopping here but I did find a few vintage books for my collection for less than a dollar a piece, so I left happy. The reason it wasn't fun to shop is that it's overcrowded with merchandise, it's not organized, and it just feels overwhelming and chaotic. The positive reviews about customer service are definitely all OLD reviews! I walked in today with the intention of donating a number of designer items I cleared out of my closet only to be ignored by the group of older individuals there. As another reviewer mentioned, they were all sitting around eating and talking. I stood there for about two minutes listening to one man enthusiastically singing his praises for Donald Trump until he stood up, looked at me, then walked away!!!! At that point, I didn't bother waiting to attempt and ask anyone else where I could take my donations. I walked out and took my donations to the Salvation Army. I would have preferred to support an organization that assists animals, but if these volunteers can't be bothered to even greet visitors/ potential donors, then people should rethink if it's worth the effort to take the drive down there. read more

They're really friendly and nice and helpful in this thrift store. They have a LOT crammed into a relatively small store. The mens clothes section is a little difficult to deal with because everything is so tight and crammed in. The book section is really wonderful here. There's a little bit of everything in this thrift store and they keep it tidy for how much stuff is within the depths. Seemed to be some good vintage womens clothes but that's not really my wheelhouse. Give this place your business before patronizing any of the awful Goodwills in Bakersfield! I've never seen so much crap. Overpriced too. You will not find any treasures here. Maybe bland vhs tapes or cheap flower vases from conroys. Or how about some old singer patterns? They have lots. I only went because they advertise neuter/spay vouchers on the first saturday of each month. What a crock. I waited til the first saturday, drove 20 miles to get there and was told I have to have a vet appointment first by the lady with stinky cigarette breath. Then she gave me some lame excuse about not updating the website. I didn't even know they had a website. So make an appointment where? You have to go in to find out. Stupid place, stupid people. there are about five of them. sitting around eating stinky food and chatting with eachother. You need to wait for them to have a stupid lul in their stupid chatter in order to ask questions. I walked around and looked at everything. Every other thrift store in Bakersfield is either over priced or the inventory is terrible. I'm talking stained and broken. Not this place!!! Amazing hidden finds and amazing prices too. I got a working clean Minolta camera for $10! Some misc home decor too! I'll be back for sure read more

I discovered this place in the newspaper. I was looking for places that offer spay/neuter vouchers for fur babies. Most places offer them to low income families, except this place. The only catch is you have to live in Bakersfield in order to qualify for their voucher. These vouchers are offered every FIRST SATURDAY of the month beginning at 9:30am. The store staff are super friendly and helpful. When you show up you check in at the counter, they'll hand you a number and you can browse their store while waiting. This thrift store offers so many neat items. Everything is second hand but it's priced to sell. They have clothes, house ware, plants, and some furniture pieces. The money they make from these items is used to help offer the vouchers! How neat is that?? If you ever have items to donate this is a great place to consider donating to since the money goes to a great cause. read more

This little thrift store is a hidden gem. I came across when I found out they hand out vouchers to discount the cost of getting your pet spayed/neutered. However, the store itself is a little wonder ... an ever-changing rotation of home goods, books, clothing, decor that is of really nice quality. The ladies there are so sweet and do an amazing job of organizing the store so you can easily find things. The prices are incredible ... you can walk out with a bag of items for under $10. You never know what you will find there! It is a small little place, and since it benefits the animals in Kern County too, it is worth a trip in. read more

I've been going to this awesome thrift store for awhile now, and I always find something interesting. It's my favorite thrift store in Bakersfield, because of its giant, alphabetically-ordered book section. Today there was a box full of books for 10 cents each!! What a deal! They also have a big clothes selection, in which I always see people looking through and finding great deals. Prices are so cheap, things are basically free! They've got great prices, lower than most other thrift shops, a friendly staff, and, even though they're a small store, a wide selection of clothes, books, and other goodies. We're very happy with all our dealings with them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good thrift shop. What a place! The non-profit store raises money to help you take care of your pets by giving out vouchers to aid in the cost of spaying and neutering those wonderful four legged friends. On the first Saturday off every month from 9:30-2:30 these vouchers are given free of charge to residents of lager county. They rely solely on donations to keep their inventory flowing. So don't forget to donate when you're creating space in your home or garage. Every time I go into this store there is something new (well old, but new to me). The front of the store is mostly consumed by clothing. Some of which is higher priced (and when I say higher priced I'm talking 2.00-5.00), than their standard price of 1.00. Um yes, that's correct, $1.00!! Jeans, 1.00, blouses, 1.00, sweater, 1.00 and so on and so on. Oh but wait, they usually have a sale posted which changes daily and many times that dollar goes to .50! Yippie!! There is a glass case which contains jewelry and some collector items that are always of interest. The remainder of the front potion of the store contains: bedding, framed art, crafting items, holiday items, dvd's, cd's and many wonderful treasures for your home or garden. Now step into the back where all of the children's clothing is priced to sell at only .25 for each piece!! More than affordable! The back is also home to a kitchen ware and small appliance section, a very organized library, books are .50-1.00, inlets they are on sale for half price! There is glass ware, light fixtures, games, puzzles, supporting goods and some furniture pieces. The staff of volunteers are very friendly always ready to help. read more

Update. I was looking for a specific product earlier this week, and decided to give this place another try. NO CAT URINE SMELL! Yea! Whatever was causing that smell on an previous visit, was gone.
