Kerr's Garage is a family-owned automobile repair shop, and 3 generations of Kerrs work here. Because the mechanic, Gary, owns the place, he can set his own hours and does not do mornings. He is so well-known and respected, that I had to book an appointment 3 days ahead of time. What happens if the car overheats on the way to the airport? He'll fit you in. Otherwise you wait your turn. I had a serious situation in that my car had filled up with water and then froze! Gary found the problems, fixed them, and then detailed my car. I would be surprised if he had time to do that with every customer, but he did it for me. He got my car back 2 days earlier than expected and it was less money than I expected. I've been to many auto repair shops, but Kerr's Garage is far and away the best. While their work is always of the highest standard, it is their incredible customer service that sets them apart. I was stuck one day in the parking lot of a nearby grocery store, because the third-party remote starter system failed, and I couldn't figure out how to disengage it. I called up Gary at Kerr's Garage and asked if he could help me. He came over right away and fixed my problem, free of charge. Another time the power steering went out. They fixed it but didn't secure one of the hoses correctly, so the fluid came back out. They came out and fixed it and gave me a card for a free oil change. On a couple occasions now, after doing an inspection as part of the oil change, Gary has personally walked me through all potential issues, showing me exactly where the problems might develop and whether they are urgent or not. He was clear, helpful, and honest. I could go on. As long as I'm living in the area, I'll take my vehicles to Gary and Jim at Kerr's Garage. read more

I brought a used car that I knew was good but needed some work to get it back into great shape. I took it to a different place and when I got it back--it was worse!! It wasn't able to hold an idle and stalling out, was shifting badly and loosing power during acceleration. It was scary to drive it! From the parking lot of the other place, I called Kerrs Garage. It was after 7 p.m. and decided not to leave a voicemail. BUT Gary, the owner, called me back and encouraged me to bring my car in. Gary confirmed that it is a good car and that it probably just needed a little maintenance. He drove my car around the corner into their lot and confirmed all of the scary things that I had noticed. BUT I felt assured that he would be more than able to fix it. Gary and Jim both worked on my car. Gary called me with the news of the repairs that it needed. He took his time to explain what was needed and what could wait. The guys were fair, trustworthy and honest. They worked with me, I didn't have any surprise expenses and most importantly they knew what was wrong and how to fix it correctly the first time. Now, my car purrs like it's supposed to and I can confidently say that it is due to the work that was done at Kerr's Garage I can not give this company enough stars to express how above and beyond they went to help me. I highly recommend Kerr's Garage! I recently had a problem with the drive train on my car. It left me stranded in the middle of an intersection! I called Jim at Kerr's and he recommended a towing service and I had the car towed to Kerr's. Jim had warned me that if it was a transmission problem that they wouldn't try to make the repair and couldn't recommend any shops to do the work. I was okay with this and told him I needed a diagnosis no matter what. Jim called me the next day with the bad news. The repair would require not only pulling the transmission, but the transfer case as well! He recommended that I take it to a dealer and explained that the manufacturer had issued a Technical Service Bulletin to the dealers for this precise problem, which meant this problem had apparently happened Many times before. Jim also advised me to contact the manufacturer to see if they would help out with the cost as we were looking at approximately an $8,000.00 repair bill. The upshot was that I had the car towed to a dealer and contacted the manufacturer to open a "case number". It turned out that Jim's diagnosis was right on the money and so was his estimate. Because Jim was so thorough in his research and diagnosis, I was able to get cost assistance from the manufacturer and my total bill will be $2,200.00! (Yes, I am extremely happy about that!) Thanks to Jim doing the research and the advice he gave me, I saved a very considerable amount of money. read more
