I had a slow leaking rear tire, so I looked up reviews and Lumpp & Sons came with really high recommendations. Went there, they checked the tire and found a large screw embedded in the back side of the tire where it curves up. The technician showed it to me and recommended that I get a new tire due to the area of the puncture being a high flex area, a plug might still leak slowly due to the constant flexing. I said to myself, here it comes, the pitch to upcharge and sell me a high priced tire. Nope, the tech kept talking, and said best place is Costco, good tires for low prices. I asked him to just plug it and I would decide later on where to buy one. He did, and 3 weeks later I haven't lost a lb of air. Let's just start this by saying that the guys at Lump & Sons have developed a close and personal relationship with my car over the years. My dad was sent here years ago on a referral to which he then referred me as well. They've been taking care of the black beauty (aka my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix) since day one. Found this shop about 2 1/2 yrs ago when looking for a 2nd opinion after bringing my car into my old shop twice within 2 months with same issue. I am new to the area and this was the first time I had to use a mechanic for an issue with a stripped battery bolt. The first mechanic said he didn't know how long it would take but labor is $119 an hour. Lumpp said it would be between $30 and $50 to do and to just stop on by. Patrick Lumpp & his son are dishonest mechanics and don't deserve to be in business. I would not trust this shop with your vehicle & I regret coming here in the first place. It was an all around nightmare. I found this shop nearby, since it had good reviews I thought I could trust them with my car for a repair. I would like to state that this is a big deal for me as I usually work on my own cars since I have a hard time trusting others work especially knowing that stereotypically mechanics are liars & cheats & this shop proves exactly that - but unfortunately I could not replace the clutch on my own with my limited tools and work space. I was very patient with them but the whole time they've have my vehicle I've needed it and expected it to be done in a timely matter as was promised not a whole month later. I've only secured transportation for a week while my car was being worked on not a whole month. I was without my vehicle that whole time and almost lost my job because I couldn't get to work reliably because of this shop. They not only took weeks but didn't repair my car properly, broke the parts I brought in, were not professional - they did not handle the situation in a professional manner whatsoever and also charged me hundreds more than I was estimated for the job and didn't give me any reductions for delaying the job WEEKS.
