Excellent service from the start. I called and they made an appointment right away. When I arrived at the shop, they were friendly and explained everything. They went over the car for a free inspection, in addition to the reason for my visit. They emailed me the report about the car fully explaining what was needed and what looked good. The value for the repair was exactly what I expected and they pulled no punches by trying to sell services that weren't needed. I cannot recommend this mechanic more! I came in because my license plate was rusted onto my RAV4 and I had issues with Jiffy Lube as well as an engineer not being able to assist me. Kevin immediately took my car and solved the issue for me on minutes and didn't even charge me!! Brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic check due to some warning lights that were showing on the driver panel. The analysis identified one issue and indicated what me the problem with other two. Part of the process was a free inspection that revealed other issues with the vehicle that made me decide it was not worth making repairs versus the value of the car. At least 3 hours of mechanic time went into this inspection, and although no work was actually done on the car, I felt it only fair to offer to pay them for their time. Nick graciously refused the offer, and merely asked me to consider My Mechanic for future service. I most certainly will! read more

I could not unlock my car doors with either the fob or the keys. Contacted a local dealership to provide a solution without much success. A Clarendon Hills police officer suggested I walk down a few doors to MyMechanic to see if they could help. They listened as I explained my problem and quickly offered to walk back to my car and "jimmy" the car open. They successfully unlocked my car and I was able to drive home. I offered to pay them for their time but they refused. I will be taking my car to their Elmhurst facility to determine what caused this issue and to complete the necessary repairs read more

These guys are the only mechanics I use. I drive an older car (2011) that's not all computerized, which makes it harder to diagnose what is wrong. It took a little more time than I hoped, but they nailed it. They're always accommodating with scheduling, a ride home if necessary, and fully explaining what is wrong and needs to be done. I needed my brakes replaced pretty badly. I called for a price and they said they'd need to see the car to make sure they priced it correctly. So the next morning I stopped in just for them to look and price it out. They quoted me around what the dealer cost, so not much difference in price. When I asked to make an appointment for it, Drake said "I think we can do it today. They're really bad and it's not safe for you to drive it like this". I was not at all expecting to be serviced that day, considering I just stopped by and they were already busy. But I'm very glad that they were able to get it all done by the end of day and at a fair price! My car is running great right now and I feel much safer driving my kids around now. It was such an easy experience and all the employees that I interacted with were very friendly and patient. Was hoping to find a honest and reliable mechanic for my three cars, did my due diligence, read their reviews and all were glaringly postive. Decided to take my car in for a check engine light wheel balance and rotation and was recommended to get new struts s I proceeded to get that done. When I got home, one wheel, the only one that had brake dust on it was still in the same location, they never called to find where my wheel lock was as I do not keep it where is easly found. Needless to say, none of the tires were removeed so how can you do a tire rotation and wheel balancing without ever taking the wheels off? Had no problem charging me $80.00 for work never performed and never could have been. Given this, I have to take my car to another mechanic that I have been using for over ten years, but wantes a shop closer, to find if they really put new struts on. Was really hoping by their reviews and conversation that I had with their staff that they would have been like their reviews, very disappointed in fradulent work that they charged me for that was not able to have been done, wil see if they really replaced my struts as charge a customer for one things you never do makes doubt for all other work charged for. read more

I've been going to My Mechanic since they opened the Clarendon Hills location. During that time, their focus has been to address issues such as transmission and radiator maintenance in order to prevent future problems. At this point they have created a "to do" list for me of areas needing future attention. Accordingly, when I go in for an Oil change, I have them take care of any priority items on the list. I recently moved and wanted to find a trustworthy auto repair center near my new home. I received an impressive mail piece from My Mechanic and decided to try them. It's so refreshing to deal with a business that truly understands customer service. The repair area was clean, the owner was very friendly and you get the feeling they want you for a long term client. They sent me a text with a picture of my dirty air filters asking if I wanted to replace them. That wasn't on the list so I was impressed they reached out with proof of the condition of the filter and their recommendation to get them replaced. I only had an oil change so I'm hoping they do as well with repairs when I need more complex servicing. But, based on my recent visit, I certainly will give them a try. read more

Took my car to My Mechanic for the first time for an oil change. It is a local family owned business. The owner's son checked me in. Mike the Service Manager is professional and friendly. He called to let me know my car was ready and offered to do a free tire rotation because my car was past the recommended miles before the tires should be rotated. I thought their customer service was excellent and I would definitely use them again. Additionally, you can't beat the convenience. It's right next to the train tracks if you commute downtown, and your car will be ready when you return from work. read more
