State Farm sent an electronic authorization to prepare a repair estimate, and the manager "Chuck" initially agreed to handle it. After several days with no follow-up, I visited the shop in person on Friday to find out what was happening. When I explained the situation calmly, the mechanic reacted angrily, used rude language (he told me "f*** yourself"), and said he was too busy to take the job. During the first meeting, I simply asked if paying cash would make the repair cheaper -- a straightforward question about payment options that any customer might ask. He said that shouldn't be a problem, but today he accused me of wrongdoing and refused to proceed. For the record -- I never asked anyone to do anything illegal or improper. I only requested a standard insurance estimate via State Farm so I could review my repair options before committing. Instead, I was ignored for days, treated disrespectfully in person, and falsely accused when I asked a reasonable question about payment. I left shocked at the lack of professionalism. I would caution others to think twice before doing business here. I saw a lot of good reviews and was ready to bring this body shop a lot of business (it's even close to my office), but this experience made it clear that some people forget it's the client who brings money to the business -- not the other way around.

After telling him how someone spray-painted my car in Houston, he simply grabbed some rubbing alcohol and went to work to remove the spray paint from my car and I had the original color back. I was expecting I'd have to repaint that part of the car, but Josh removed the spray paint in about 3 minutes. He could have taken me to the cleaners and charged me hundreds of dollars for a paint job or touch up, but instead removed the spray paint in about 3 minutes. When I asked him what I owed him, he said don't worry about it. I still offered him $50 because I was so happy he fixed my car so quickly, but he amiably declined. I have been taking my vehicles to Haraldsen's for years, but I will never be back again. For years…read morenow it's always bothered me that they charge to diagnose a problem and give a quote. Jeff always says, "well we've got an hour into it already so... it's $120 in labor at this point." I kept going though because it was so convenient that I could drop my car off and walk home. Today was the final straw. My wife's SUV, which has 195K miles on it had an axle break at the ball joint and caliper arm. I could see that immediately when I looked at it for 10 seconds. I had it towed to Haraldsen's and gave Jeff a heads up that it was coming. I told him that I'm assuming it's an expensive fix and not worth it on this vehicle... we will probably shop for a new one. I made it clear I don't want to put any money into this car anymore. I asked him if while it's there if he can take a quick peek just to confirm that it will be more than just a few hundred bucks. He informed me it would be around $700 minimum but could be more if they put it up on the lift and really dive into it. I said, "Nope. Don't even bother." To which he said, "ok then!" The next day he tells my wife that he has to charge us 1/2 an hour labor to take a look. $60 for what I diagnosed in 10 seconds! Thanks a lot for helping out what used to be a loyal customer. I called and explained to Jeff my displeasure with this charge to which he said was justified because they had to jack the car up with a hand jack and move it in their lot so the plow could get through with snow on the way. I told Jeff to send me a bill for the $60 and I will pay it and then that will be the last time we ever do business again. We won't be coming back.
