My children are now 8 and 10 and I still feel they can enjoy the playground. It offers something for children of all sizes. The inside facilities could still use some updates. The workout area is still not something I feel drawn to use as it is squeezed into an area that all people pass through on their way to class, the pool, or any other parts of the facility. The area is dark and glum and, since I have enough trouble finding self-motivation to work out, this is something I'd like to see changed. I'm not sure the facility has a better space for it, but daylight and more openness would go a long way in improving this experience. Kudos to the facility for offering a variety of classes ranging from fitness (including yoga, swimming, Zumba and more) to after-school care and even guitar lessons. It is a well-rounded facility that all ages can benefit from. I have seen seniors doing aqua aerobics and there is a small daycare room for the younger children. This could be improved with increased toys and activities, but it is offered and can help a mom get a workout in when she otherwise might not.

The area is beautiful and a great place for a walk. My 4 star rating is coming from a desire for a better map, the ones they have are ok but I had a little bit of trouble at times, and then for being let down on 2 things I promised my kids. The "children's garden" has definitely seen better days and is very lackluster in general. There's nothing to do inside of it and we were honestly just confused. The other thing was the butterfly garden, all of the bushes were gone on our visit. In general, these things aren't a big deal but considering I had 4 small kids with me, these were 2 things advertised that we were looking forward to.

There's plenty of parking - regardless if you're there for a baseball game or for a nice walk. We brought our dog with us, and ended up doing the entire loop in just under an hour. We'd initially pulled up this trail in the AllTrails app, and it told us this was 1.1 miles ... we're not so sure that's accurate, since it felt like we were walking for much longer than that. Next time, we'll make sure to measure how far we've gone. Either way - what a gorgeous way to start your day! The plants and trees are all labeled, and sorted into various collections. The Magnolia Collection was by far our favorite, although that's about as far back into the loop as you can get. The trail itself is well-maintained, and wasn't too busy at all on a Saturday morning around 9 a.m. There was a good age range among the folks walking ... it was nice to everyone from families to elderly couples out for a morning stroll. We'll definitely return to this paved trail - it's especially convenient after a big rain, when you don't want to hike through the mud!

There is also a small shelter with restrooms there , but there was not any picnic table under the shelter. The play ground has a duck rocker, a bank of traditional/toddler swings, a sandbox, a sit and spin, a medium jungle gym with slides, spiral pole slide, and tic-tac-toe, and a large jungle gym with tunnel, bridges, monkey rings, and slides. One of the slides is closed with a piece of plywood through. The equipment is well maintained, with the exception of the broken slide. You will find a bench and a picnic table just off of the playground area where caregivers can sit and watch their littles play. The park dates back to 1917 and was originally named Washington Park. In 1918, it was give its current name Wilson Park, for Woodrow Wilson, who was president at the time. The park is also home to a bunch of horseshoe pits, with a small shelter next to it. There is also a very nice baseball field located in the park. It is really nice and has an electric scoreboard and dugouts. Calling all pickle ball players! This park has 4 very nice and newly installed pickleball courts. The courts are fenced in and there are benches just outside the fence for people to sit. I really like this low key park. It is a hidden gem and has a lot to offer. It is a borderline destination park and is easy to get in and out of. I highly recommend checking this place out.

There are numerous old buildings (limestone) that were locked for the winter making it difficult to tell if they were shelters, or possibly restrooms and concession stands for the ballpark. It could be a nice place for a walk if the traffic for the ballgames wasn't too heavy. Lots of trees and some hills in the park. Review #1983
