The food was really good, very authentic and decently priced! The spot is really low key and in/next to the bowling alley which i like. Most Korean spots are crowed and loud to the point where you can't have a convo with your dinner crew this wasn't that place. If you're coming alone though the server there was really chill and wouldn't mind keeping you company. Lol probably one of the best servers we ever had tbh. Be careful if you have any characters on your debit card though he came for my BB8...smh...the audacity. BB8 is cute sir! Lol anyways if you're looking for a new small Korean spot to try this is it!

Great customer service, I ended up bowling and then getting hungry, it was nice to get some home-cooked korean meals rather then the typical bowling alley fried food. I ordered the dak doritang (spicy stir fried braised chicken) and the spicy squid and kalguksu (hand pulled noodles) stir fry for dinner. Both items were tasty and hot. Thanks KeunJib!

Delicious food, good variety Don't let the bowling alley location fool you. This is the real deal. Also a nice selection of burgers and other American fare. Very friendly setvice.

Revisited recently for dinner. Banchan overall had good flavors except for the beansprout dish which tasted old. Spicy bbq pork tasted tender and delish. The seafood kimchi soup (kimchi, tofu) arrived piping hot with good tanginess but the only seafood in it were clams. Rating 3.5 for food. Service was responsive and friendly.

I was skeptical because I judged a book by its cover but was blown away by this place. It's so yummy and filling. While the ambiance isn't anything to leave you speechless it does add character to KeunJib. I've been to some very nice looking places that have served some pretty terrible food so trust me on this that they may be attached to a bowling alley but do not sleep on this place. I ordered the bibimbap with beef and it was over flowing with fresh veggies, a fried egg and beef. They also use the purple rice which most Korean places around here just use regular white rice which I find a let down. I also had the tofu soup and it was delicious and perfect for a cold rainy day. It came with all the side dishes which were tasty. I am looking forward to coming back.

First time here and not expecting much. But wow. Quality food. The pork belly was outstanding. Plus sides. You can sit in the bar and they bring it to you. Yummy!!!

Ummm. Epic. Had the bibimbap and it was perfect. Served in a sizzling bowl which crisped the rice perfectly. The sauce on the side was like a kimchi sauce and added great zing. Going back for sure.

I went yesterday for my first time ever. Cool spot inside of a bowling alley. Nice menu, nice staff, a bunch of characters who visit here. I got 2 spam masubis! They're were huge and super good with seasoned brown rice. Very yummy. I want to go back again immediately! I got the cod fish and chips. Not as good as the spam masubis but it was good, good for the price. Large portion. I look forward to going back. Insider tip, there's a bar inside the bowling alley also with low prices. Party!

Don't let the fact that this place is in a bowling alley keep you from a delicious experience. I admit I was a bit skeptical but I was really impressed with everything we had. All the bonchon included kimchi, bean sprouts, daikon, broccoli, zucchini, fish cake and tofu. I think the tofu was my favorite but all were tasty. We ordered two entree's and an appetizer. The spicy chicken wings were very crispy and flavorful with a nice bit of heat. My wife chose the beef soft tofu soup. It came out still bubbling hot and was amazing. My wife orders this soup almost every time she has Korean food and thought it was one of the best she's had. I chose the squid and pork belly stir fry. Tender slices of squid and pork with carrots, zucchini and onions in an addicting Korean chili sauce. (I wanted to lick the plate.) The entrees were served with forbidden rice which was a nice touch. Our overall experience was excellent. Great service everything came out quickly and hot. The staff were polite and attentive. We will definitely be coming back and looking forward to trying some other menu items.

In my opinion it is the best Korean food in Contra Costa County. Keunjib is an unassuming Korean restaurant attached to Paddock Bowl, a local bowling alley. The shop serves up common american fare such as burgers, fries, and the like, while also serving great korean dishes to both their sit down and bowling customers. My personal favorites here are the Chicken Teriyaki plate and the Rice Cake soup, but I honestly have tried most of their menu at this point and you can't go wrong! Highly highly recommend!

Family run business with great service and variety of fresh/delicious food! Definitely of the legit and delicious Korean food in the area!

A rush of people had left the restaurant at the same time because a sports game ended. The time to get seated was incredibly short, taking less than 5 minutes for us two. Once seated the hostess did not offer us anything, instead saying someone else would come help us and she hurried off. We sat for over twenty minutes without a single server speaking to us. In that time we had four separate parties of 1-4 all be seated around us. They all were given drinks either by hosts or servers. Two of them had orders taken. We were not asked how we were. Even after activating the "need waiter" mode on the tablet every single server ignored us. I know mistakes happen, a rush had ended and we may have been lost in the shuffle. Every server who looked at us and the tablet could have checked in. It was clearly bright and alerting. The restaurant wasn't incredibly busy, as our section was mostly empty when we entered. As we were getting up one of the servers looked at both of us, the alerting tablet on the table, and then towards the table next to us and asked if they needed help. I have to mention that all the people who were served before us were white. Most of their servers were. The hostess who sat us down also was. We are an interracial couple. I am very visibly middle eastern. It felt incredibly targeted. We would tip as much as any other party. We wouldn't treat the staff poorly. All we did was have a brown guy at the table. When we went to hand our menus and unused utensils back to the hosts the only host who showed any concern and attempted to help wasn't white. She offered to get us reseated and immediately helped. Considering the racist treatment towards us by the other staff we declined. We left promptly. I would love for someone from the management team to reach out and look at any footage of the incident to clarify what might've happened. Our reservation at check in was under my partners name and placed at 4:34pm.

This past weekend I got a chance to try it with my boyfriend, who's already had it once before. We decided to go in around 8pm on a Saturday. We weren't able to get past their automated answer choices, so we decided to take a risk and go in. Upon arrival, it was a joy to see that there was not many people eating as well as no waitlist to be seated. We got seated immediately by what seems to be the restaurant manager. He was nice and made us feel welcome. Our server for the night whom I forgot the name of, was sweet and responsive to our needs as well! We were pleasantly surprised by how empty the restaurant was. We both ordered burgers, which my bf had recommended to me based on the one other time he came. Our food came out so quickly, I would say just around 10 minutes! I got their "Eureka! I definitely wish I tried them that night but it just gives me an excuse to come back!

During our meal, several waiters checked in on us and made sure we had ordered or if we wanted anything else! Detailed and friendly service. The second time I visited we got on the waitlist half an hour before arriving and were seated within 15 minutes of arriving. The only thing is since there is a long waitlist on Sundays, long conversations aren't very possible without various staff frequently intervening to ask if you want boxes to go... even if you're still chewing. I do understand it's to keep groups cycling through so that everyone can enjoy a meal here. F O O D My friend wanted to try various appetizers so she ordered the Korean fried chicken, crispy brussel sprouts, and earl grey croffle. I ordered the sweet maple omelette. The Korean fried chicken was great, with its wonderful crunch and flavorful hint of spice. The brussel sprouts were indeed delicately crispy as described and tasty; I couldn't stop eating them! I also thoroughly enjoyed their namesake omelette; it was a big portion too. What stole the show was the earl grey croffle!! A light crunchy yet soft croissant waffle with burrata(!!) blueberries marinated in Earl grey(!!) & basil extra virgin olive oil and their housemade blueberry marmalade was such a strange combination to imagine but a beautiful taste experience. I would have never considered adding burrata cheese with basil evoo and earl grey blueberries to a croffle but I am grateful to the skilled chef who did at this restaurant! I can't wait to come back just for this very delicious appetizer/dessert. D R I N K S My BFF ordered a coffee and I ordered the hot coconut cream latte. The coconut cream latte was dreamy and sweet. I have also tried the iced Ube latte on another visit and it was good but not as good as the coconut cream latte. It needed a touch of something else to balance the sweetness of the Ube, not sure what really. I am intrigued by the floral tonic espresso so I'll try that on my next visit! A M B I A N C E The decor and open dining area with its glass windows make the area feel airy and inviting. It's a very aesthetic vibe inside. There is chatter and laughter but nothing excessive, except the second time when we were seated by a table with unruly children, though that is no fault of the establishment, just the parents. This for sure a great place for a brunch with the girlies or a date post farmers market. Just make sure to get on the waitlist via Yelp to plan your visit ahead of time! This place is always busy, as it should be!! P A R K I N G Parking was slightly difficult to find since the farmers market was also going on at this time when we visited on a Sunday late morning but we were able to find paid street parking within 5 minutes. I would recommend planning for some extra time to find parking if you're coming on a Sunday (due to the farmers market). The second time I went on a Sunday around 11 am it took me 10 minutes to find parking and I got lucky since it was someone leaving the farmers market. Also please note that the farmers market closes the streets that Google Maps will try to take you through to get here.
