The food was really good, very authentic and decently priced! The spot is really low key and in/next to the bowling alley which i like. Most Korean spots are crowed and loud to the point where you can't have a convo with your dinner crew this wasn't that place. If you're coming alone though the server there was really chill and wouldn't mind keeping you company. Lol probably one of the best servers we ever had tbh. Be careful if you have any characters on your debit card though he came for my BB8...smh...the audacity. BB8 is cute sir! Lol anyways if you're looking for a new small Korean spot to try this is it!

Great customer service, I ended up bowling and then getting hungry, it was nice to get some home-cooked korean meals rather then the typical bowling alley fried food. I ordered the dak doritang (spicy stir fried braised chicken) and the spicy squid and kalguksu (hand pulled noodles) stir fry for dinner. Both items were tasty and hot. Thanks KeunJib!

Delicious food, good variety Don't let the bowling alley location fool you. This is the real deal. Also a nice selection of burgers and other American fare. Very friendly setvice.

Revisited recently for dinner. Banchan overall had good flavors except for the beansprout dish which tasted old. Spicy bbq pork tasted tender and delish. The seafood kimchi soup (kimchi, tofu) arrived piping hot with good tanginess but the only seafood in it were clams. Rating 3.5 for food. Service was responsive and friendly.

I was skeptical because I judged a book by its cover but was blown away by this place. It's so yummy and filling. While the ambiance isn't anything to leave you speechless it does add character to KeunJib. I've been to some very nice looking places that have served some pretty terrible food so trust me on this that they may be attached to a bowling alley but do not sleep on this place. I ordered the bibimbap with beef and it was over flowing with fresh veggies, a fried egg and beef. They also use the purple rice which most Korean places around here just use regular white rice which I find a let down. I also had the tofu soup and it was delicious and perfect for a cold rainy day. It came with all the side dishes which were tasty. I am looking forward to coming back.

First time here and not expecting much. But wow. Quality food. The pork belly was outstanding. Plus sides. You can sit in the bar and they bring it to you. Yummy!!!

Ummm. Epic. Had the bibimbap and it was perfect. Served in a sizzling bowl which crisped the rice perfectly. The sauce on the side was like a kimchi sauce and added great zing. Going back for sure.

Don't let the fact that this place is in a bowling alley keep you from a delicious experience. I admit I was a bit skeptical but I was really impressed with everything we had. All the bonchon included kimchi, bean sprouts, daikon, broccoli, zucchini, fish cake and tofu. I think the tofu was my favorite but all were tasty. We ordered two entree's and an appetizer. The spicy chicken wings were very crispy and flavorful with a nice bit of heat. My wife chose the beef soft tofu soup. It came out still bubbling hot and was amazing. My wife orders this soup almost every time she has Korean food and thought it was one of the best she's had. I chose the squid and pork belly stir fry. Tender slices of squid and pork with carrots, zucchini and onions in an addicting Korean chili sauce. (I wanted to lick the plate.) The entrees were served with forbidden rice which was a nice touch. Our overall experience was excellent. Great service everything came out quickly and hot. The staff were polite and attentive. We will definitely be coming back and looking forward to trying some other menu items.

Family run business with great service and variety of fresh/delicious food! Definitely of the legit and delicious Korean food in the area!

In my opinion it is the best Korean food in Contra Costa County. Keunjib is an unassuming Korean restaurant attached to Paddock Bowl, a local bowling alley. The shop serves up common american fare such as burgers, fries, and the like, while also serving great korean dishes to both their sit down and bowling customers. My personal favorites here are the Chicken Teriyaki plate and the Rice Cake soup, but I honestly have tried most of their menu at this point and you can't go wrong! Highly highly recommend!

I thought it was kinda cool that this little restaurant was connected to a bowling alley. It's a hole in the wall I'd say. We ordered kalbi short ribs, shrimp fried rice and Philly cheesesteak sandwich and French fries. The menu has Korean food and options of bowling alley food i.e. French fires, burgers, pizza etc. I'd say it's pretty awesome to have this as bowling alley food. Food: it was ok nothing to really talk about. I don't feel like there was a wow factor. the amount of food was good enough for one person. (I guess I expected more). Service: the staff were nice and considering what we ordered it was fast. Food was ready in 15 minutes. The price was not expensive compare to other Korean restaurants I've been to.

A small family run restaurant that really feels like home when you are there. It's inside a bowling alley on the border of pleasant hill and concord. The place has plenty of parking. I ordered kimchi fried rice, seafood pancake, bbq pork, kimchi stew. The kimchi stew was excellent and their Banchan sides were so tasty! Nothing was lacking in flavor and the service was excellent. Will become a regular for sure.

Hidden gem. Great food and friendly family who owns it. You won't be disappointed. The bowling alley also had a old school bar for drinks.

Bumped up a star b/c they're open all day unlike other Korean spots. They are very generous with the banchan, and food never disappoints me.

I met my friends Sarah and David for dinner here on 11/04/2025. We walked in at 5:30pm and were immediately greeted by the lone female server, who seated us at a table towards to back of the restaurant. The interior was very clean, and lighting was soft and warm. The giant restaurant logos on the walls were prominently displayed. Their menu featured a wide array of appetizers, soups, bibimbaps, cold and hot noodles, meat dishes, etc. We opted against their signature kalbijjim and instead got three entrée combos (L.A. galbi, spicy pork, and bulgogi). Each entrée came with our choice of tofu soup. Half a dozen banchans were brought to us before the arrival of the entrées. The buchu (chives) and baechu (Napa cabbage) kimchi were excellent. Our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. Portion wise, the tofu soups were of decent size, but the meat entrées were kind of stingy (they were served in small round skillets). I had the seafood tofu soup and it was very good. It was loaded clams, shrimp, and squid. We shared the entrées, and they all tasted great. The only gripe I had was a couple pieces of the galbi had very little meat on them. Service we received was great. Our server was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The total was somewhere around $130 (with a bottle of soju, a tangerine slushy, and a soda). Overall, we all thought the food was good. Return trip very likely. 4 stars. Over…read morethe years, though, so many K-bbq restaurants have opened up that unfortunately Gen kind of slipped off my radar. But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.
