Whenever possible I enjoy using a "Mom & Pop" company. There is something special about the owner actually answering the phone himself and being able to discuss the scope of work needing to be done. After a while the new doors closer went bad and they replaced it with a new one. After they left the closing arm keeps popping off and they were called back to fix it .. they came and left it still keeps popping off. I contacted the office manager Matt to discuss it and he explained they were order some parts. I informed him that I would not be recommending them and he informed me that if my people were like me he wouldn't want to work with them anyways . So moral of the story of you want a job done correctly the first time Alpha Omaha Glass is not the ones to call .

I am giving a 3 star only because the service techs Brad and Chris were great. They are…read moreknowledgeable about their job, they are conscientious about their work and making sure we were satisfied. Lucas on the other hand could definitely take a class in people skills. I originally called to schedule an estimate, David the tech came and did the measure to replace a double pane picture window. He provided the estimate in an email, when I called to accept the estimate Lucas did not schedule an appointment to do the install and did not mention if they would call me back or what. A week later I called back and they helped me schedule the install. On the day of the scheduled appointment I re-arranged my work day to be available when the service people were to be here. I got a text telling me David would be arriving in 30 minutes. When he arrived he did not have the window because Lucas scheduled the appointment as a estimate not an install. I then had to re-schedule the install for the next week which meant another day of re-arranging my work schedule. Lucas refused to discount the total cost and told me if I didn't like it he would refund the 50% down and I could go to another company, which there are not any other companies that I am aware of that do this type or window pane replacement. When I found Glass Doctors on the internet, the Daytona Beach location had a Senior Discount up to $200.00, Lucas said that it was not good for Daytona Beach and that it was not suppose to be on their and refused to honor that discount and in his words "he would go broke in Florida if he honored a senior discount". Would I use Glass Doctors again, yes if I only needed the panes replaced versus the entire window unit. But that is because there are not other options available that I am aware of. But if I do use them again I will be going into the agreement with a new set of eyes and expectations.

The second job involved replacing the multi-lock mechanism on a front double entry door. I could not find a locksmith who even wanted to try to fix a multi - lock system. Mike not only completed both jobs in excellent fashion, but also charged a very fair price. He apparently takes on inspection, warranty, and repair jobs of all kinds and I recommend him highly; especially to solve complex issues others do not know how to handle.

I called this guy to come repair a glass window for me on a Monday. He told me he would try to get…read moreto it that night or Tuesday. I called him back on Tuesday night and he told me he would try to get it on Weds. That didn't happen I called him three times on Thursday he did not answer the phone nor did he return my call. I finally went with another company to come on Friday to replace the glass in the window after Independent glass & door service jerked me around for days! I would not suggest their business to anyone !
