Also the doctor prescribed anxiety meds and antibiotics for the day of the surgery. When we came back for the surgery we waited 30 minutes just to get in a room that clearly wasn't ready or sanitized after the patient before our son. Whoever was responsible for sanitizing the room clearly was in a hurry to go to lunch because we we're right after the staffs lunch. There was a bloody cloth over the bedside tray, and a container full of old blood sitting in the room. The dentist comes in and rudely brushes of any of our feelings and concerns away as well as refusing to give our special needs son any anxiety meds. My husband and I would of left but we had already stuck hundreds of dollars in to get him the surgery done. So then we're told to go out in the waiting room to wait. The procedure took about an hour give or take. When our special needs son was done they walked him out with some gauze and that was it. No after care instructions no ice pack no nothing. Luckily our son is our middle child and we have had experience with our other children.

Plenty of seating with an amazing view of LA, which is nice because whoever takes you to your surgery gets a nice area to wait in during your procedure. I was very nervous and the surgical assistants did a great job calming my nerves and making sure I felt safe. When we walked into the office I was stunned to say the least. I have never, and I mean never seen an office this big, clean, and beautiful. There are several doctors in the practice and a surgical center as well. From the waiting room, you can see all the way to the beach, which, I must say, calms patients down a bit! We waited maybe 3 minutes in the waiting room and Dr. Ting's assistant came to escort us in to a state-of-the-art beautifully-appointed exam room. Dr, Ting's assistant was very sweet, helpful, and very knowledgable. Dr. Ting came in promptly and his wonderful presence filled the room. It is so amazing to me when doctors or dentists are go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and heard. He looked at my mom's x rays and right away suggested the route we should go. He even called our dentist while we were there to confirm. We appreciated Dr. Ting's bedside manner and his honesty. At the end of the appointment, it was decided that my mother's treatment could go in another, less invasive direction. I asked Dr. Ting for his card because I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a great oral surgeon.

I immediately saw my general dentist, who recommended that the tooth be extracted and replaced with an implant. As you can imagine, I was extremely nervous and anxious about the idea of oral surgery. I reached out to Dr. Sam Vahedi's office, and from the very first interaction, they were incredibly accommodating and professional. They understood the urgency of my situation and scheduled me promptly, which immediately helped put me at ease. The moment I walked into the office and met Dr. Vahedi, I felt calm and reassured. He has a very confident yet kind demeanor that instantly builds trust. They performed a CT scan, and Dr. Vahedi took the time to thoroughly explain exactly what was going on and what the plan would be. He explained that the first step would be extracting the broken tooth, which had three roots. During the procedure, he carefully numbed the area. There was only minimal discomfort with the numbing, and after that, I truly did not feel any pain at all. I could feel some pressure and hear some crunching, but there was absolutely no pain. Throughout the entire process, I felt completely confident in Dr. Vahedi's technical expertise and knowledge. It was clear that I was in very capable hands, and sure enough, he did a magnificent job. His assistant, Heidi, was also wonderful--very attentive, reassuring, and kind. I was so relaxed during the procedure that they actually thought I had fallen asleep! That alone speaks volumes about how comfortable and stress-free the experience was. I will be returning in several months for the next steps of my implant process, and I am extremely grateful that Dr. Sam Vahedi is my oral surgeon. If anyone ever asks me who they should see for oral surgery, extractions, or implants, I will unconditionally and enthusiastically recommend Dr. Vahedi. An outstanding experience from start to finish.

I am over the moon! I have now recommended Dr. Khou as well to all of my coresidents, and I can see why he's so busy!! I cannot say even great things about Dr. Khou and this team at Ask Dental. He and his office are incredibly supportive -- the number of times I've needed to reschedule my follow ups or even come in during the weekdays in an emergency (chipped tooth, worried about sensitive gums etc), his office has always managed to schedule me in. I don't know how he does it!! They have a very efficient scheduling system via phone call and text reminders (of note, please make sure to not cancel within 48 hours - they say there's a cancellation fee but I haven't cancelled so soon before an appt before). Their office is so conveniently located in Westwood -- I always take time off and stroll from UCLA Reagan during the afternoons to make my dentist appointments. His office is so clean (doesn't have that traditional dentist smell!) & there's a calming big screen TV with calming music and a scenic montage in the background). His office also provides little goodie bags with dental floss, toothbrush and tooth paste for every dental check up!! Truly - when I'm an attending and graduate residency soon, I hope to still continue seeing Dr. Khou as a patient for as long as possible!

It's rare to find a dental office where both the doctor and staff make you feel so valued as a patient. I truly appreciate the level of care and attention to detail they consistently provide. If you're looking for a dentist who combines professionalism with a personal touch, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I was coming from…read morea private practice dentist who was overtreating me and overcharging me (surprise surprise she sold the practice shortly after I left). I called UCLA, because I have other doctors there. I think their prices are fair - so far - and they don't really have incentive to overcharge or overtreat you like private practice dentists with a lot of overhead! That said, the first dentist I worked with - whom I really liked - moved. She was "conservative" in her recommendations, didn't overtreat, but was watchful and caring. I did not like the next dentist they paired me with at all...I found him rude and very condescending, and he pushed x-rays that I questioned the necessity of. I would have been open, but they acted as if I had missed appts or something - never! I had followed THEIR UCLA protocol to the "t!" He also neglected to even tell me that he only wanted to do bite wing x rays - I would have had no problem with that, esp. as it was my first time seeing him. (However, I think he wanted to do a full set and changed his mind when I questioned it.) I think he is following out of date guidelines - ok, but don't condescend to patients who are just asking knowledgeable questions! His attitude continued throughout the exam, so I complained immediately to the front desk: they were beyond helpful and nice. They set my next appt with another dentist, based on what I told them I liked about the first dentist. Time will tell, but overall, I think it's a good office if you advocate for yourself, and don't accept a rude dentist - there is a whole wall of dentists' cards to choose from! Not a big deal, but they really really need to update the waiting area! It's all dark brown and dreary - feels like you walked into the '70's! A brighter coat of paint would put patients in a better mood! :)
