0/5 stars. Avoid this dealership at all costs. I'm writing this as my husband the original customer who wrote the original review, and I can confirm every word of it is true. I was there through all of it, and watching how Kevin Ford Automotive treated him was infuriating. He bought two vehicles here--a 2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali and later a 2017 Ford Expedition. Both were sold "as-is," but both broke down almost immediately. The Yukon went back for repairs five times in just 2,500 miles with no resolution, and the Expedition's check engine light came on within 24 hours showing a catalytic converter failure. This dealership has shown zero honesty, zero accountability, and no care for customers. Texas law is clear that "as-is" doesn't excuse hiding known defects, but based on what we experienced, they simply don't care. I fully stand by his 0-star rating. If you value your time and money, stay far away from Kevin Ford Automotive. read more

One of the worst car buyimg experience. Told me that all 4 tires were new, 2 were bald. Only gave me one keyfob and ot was 3rd party.

I had one of the worst experiences ever with Kevin Ford Automotive. I brought a used car from them and thinking I was getting something reliable, but it turned into a complete headache almost immediately. Within days, the car started having issues that definitely should've been caught before being sold. It makes me question whether they even inspect their vehicles at all or just push them out to make a quick sale. When I brought it back, they acted like it wasn't their problem and gave the runaround instead of taking responsibility. On the automotive service side, it wasn't any better. Repairs took way longer than promised, communication was terrible, and I constantly had to chase them down for updates. Every time I called, I got a different answer, and nothing felt transparent. Overall, this place is unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly doesn't care about the customers once they've made a sale. I would strongly recommend going anywhere else if you're looking for a used car or honest automotive service. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE. So here we are.. This Delaership is a Serious Concern About Vehicle Disclosure and Quality I purchased two vehicles from Kevin Ford Automotive: first a 2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali VIN: 1GKS2MEFXBR270685, which I later traded back, and then a 2017 Ford Expedition. Both were sold "as-is," yet major mechanical problems appeared almost immediately after purchase. * The Yukon developed issues right after I left the lot. Although I was verbally promised a 3-month/3,000-mile warranty, no paperwork reflected this. The repairs were sent to their partner shop, Solis Auto Repair, which failed to properly fix the issues. I returned this vehicle five times within 2,500 miles, yes FIVE TIMES, yet the problems persisted. * I then purchased the Expedition, only to see the check engine light come on within 24 hours, showing code P0430 (catalytic converter failure), despite it supposedly "passing" a state inspection. I was assured it was a "good car," but this experience has been anything but. Two consecutive vehicles with serious, immediate problems strongly suggest that known defects were not properly disclosed. My attempts to resolve these issues directly with Kevin Ford Automotive have been completely unsatisfactory--this dealership has shown no genuine concern for customer well-being, only for making a profit. I would never recommend Kevin Ford Automotive (1101 Lavon Dr, Garland, TX) to anyone and urge potential buyers to avoid this dealership entirely. Texas law makes clear that "as-is" sales do not absolve dealers of their duty to disclose known defects. If we could leave less than one star, we would. First started with taking well over a month to get the car after initial purchase. Already a bad sign - bought a 2012 Nissan 370Z. Lets see - the motor for the convertible top - shot - over 25k to replace that motor (twice what spent on car). The window motor and clips had to be replaced. 4 different sized tires with a bent rim. So many other mechanical issues with this car - is unreal. Have dumped, easily, $7000 into this car and at this point, want to have them repossess because it is NOT worth the headaches. They offer warranty - BUY it (or just walk away). Obviously, their second hand cars suck. Don't get stuck. Make sure you live close enough to take to be repaired. We live over 350 miles away, so definitely NOT convenient. Disgusted in ATX. read more

BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! Management 0/10 Communication -100/10 Customer Service 1/10 We purchased a vehicle in December 2024, just before Christmas. The car was listed online, so we drove 4 hours to see it, only to find it wasn't ready for the market. It hadn't been fully evaluated, had visible damages, and the windshield was still being replaced. Despite that, Walter (our sales rep) assured us they would handle all the repairs if we wanted to take the car home, with the agreement we would return to have the final part installed and car detailed. We tried following up with Walter to schedule the return trip but received no response. We knew he was going on vacation, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt and called the dealership directly to schedule an appointment. They told us it would be a quick, one-day fix and detail. We made the 4-hour drive back only to find that no one knew we were coming, and nothing was prepared. We went home and scheduled again for the second time. Drove back and had to leave the car on the lot for nearly a week. Even after all that, the part that was supposedly guaranteed to arrive still wasn't installed. At this point, the broken promises were piling up. We finally told them to just mail us the part so we could handle it ourselves. It took FIVE months of texts and follow-ups before they finally sent it only after I threatened to file a small claims court case. To make matters worse, Walter convinced us we had to purchase a $3,500 warranty which we later found out was unnecessary. I contacted Aaron Winters (the manager) within 30 days to cancel it. After repeated emails, he finally responded that the cancellation would reflect in 4-6 weeks. At the 6-week mark, I followed up, and again, no response. Every time I called, he was "out of office" or "on vacation." FIVE months later, they finally send the warranty check to the loan company to remove the $3500 warranty. No accountability. No apology. Just avoidance and deception. Both Aaron Winters (manager) and Walter (sales rep) were unprofessional and unreliable. Their communication is horrible, and they clearly do not care about customer satisfaction or quality service. Take your money elsewhere. This dealership is not worth your time or trust. read more

My son bought 2018 Nissan maxima from Kevin Ford. Theses people's are DAMN!!, SCAMMERS the whole staff my son had a transmission put in two months ago twelve thousand miles warranted went out his car.been sitting up there for a month they first said they needed to order a part for it, now they saying they waiting on the inspector to come out never heard of that but anyway everyone that call them about my son car they put you on hold and then hang up the phone. So I popped up on them and now this cody guy said erin got fired he no longer working there he is the new GM he told me that he have heard about the maxima and he also told me that Erin told the staff whoever call about the car.to hang up the phone but ! Check this Cody also told me his car was.in the shop and he Just started working there on 3/18/2026 four hours ago so I said okay he left in the blind but as I proceed to leave the parking lot and look to the right I see my son car there !!! That was left in the same spot from when they towed it in from off the flat bed 3 -4 weeks ago so now I'm really pissed cause at this point I feel like Cody playing in my face with this BS. So I went back in there and confronted him about that lie and why is that car is still out there in same spot he let's assure me that he would take your other problem.​ etc ALL I SAY I CAN RIGHT A BOOK ABOUT THIS CAR LOT KEVIN FORD IN GARLAND. Do not buy from this place they are scammers and the vehicles are not in good condition about a month ago I purchased a ford f150 when it had only been 2 days I had it and the engine startes making a weird noise took it back to them and they told me it would be ready within 2 days it took them almost 2 weeks and they refused to let me know what was wrong with it I was patient while I didn't have the truck when I finally got it back they said they had to change the whole engine and they left a lot of disconnected cables that were not like that I decided to give back the truck since that's not what we agreed on when I purchased the vehicle , good thing the bank was waiting for me to get the car back and me being satisfied with it for them to sign for the loan so that was canceled and the Lerner agreed on giving me back my deposit he said he would mail it and I would get in 2 weeks it's been almost 3 weeks and I haven't gotten nothing neither a response from them I call and ask and they ignore me they are not trustworthy I saw that the vehicle was sold recently so they didn't loose no money from that ... These guys are a bunch of con artists. I bought a 7 year old pickup from them. A few days later, it wouldn't start and the check engine light came on. I took it to a mechanic friend of mine, who replaced the starter ($800), and told me it had a battery made for a small car that wouldn't be able to adequately power it, and it was also missing the battery hold down clamp (extremely dangerous, so I replaced it for another $250). The check engine light was for 2 bad catellitic convertors and a bad vapor control valve. I contacted my salesperson Walter about the emissions issues, because it's a violation of a couple laws to sell a vehicle with known emissions issues in Texas. He assured me they would take care of it. I took the truck in, he called me the next day and said it was ready. The check engine light came back on while I was driving it home. They had not replaced the cat convertors or the valve. I took it back in on a Wednesday, and was assured it would be ready on Saturday. I told them I would be out of town for a few days, and would pick it up the following Tuesday. On the following Tuesday, I messaged Walter several times to ensure it was ready. He kept avoiding my messages. I tried calling the manager, who didn't answer his phone. I eventually had my wife drive me to the dealership, and they didn't have the truck. I waited almost 2 hours, missed a job interview, and while I was waiting, Walter left. I was told the delay was because the mechanic was driving the required 50 miles after the repair. I checked my odomoter, and it had only been driven 4 miles since I dropped the truck off. They just cleared the code after finally replacing the cat convertors. 2 days later, the check engine light came back on. They still hadn't replaced the vapor control valve. I ended up doing it myself, because I was fed up with them. I messaged Walter a couple days ago, because I still haven't received my registration sticker, nearly 2 months after buying the truck. Walter said he doesn't work there anymore, so I tried to email the dealership to ask about it. My email got kicked back; Google couldn't deliver it. I've been driving for over 30 years, bought/leased 13 vehicles in that time frame, and this is the first time I've truly regretted a vehicle purchase. I wish I had never heard of Kevin Ford. I just recently moved to Texas, so I'm not very familiar with its' consumer protection laws, but I really hope someone who IS familiar with them challenges them and this shady dealership gets shut down. read more
