Today I redeemed my Groupon for Cut, Blow out, deep conditioning and full highlights. A $240 value for $75. I can truly say it was the best value I have every bought. I went last week for a consult with Kevin, the owner. He was a pleasure. He listened to me and asked questions to make sure He and I understood what I wanted. ( Yes, I wasn't sure what I wanted, he clarified and explained and showed me colors) So, He began his magic at 10 am today. He asked me a very important question. Do I plan to do upkeep every 4 weeks. I told him no. I'm too busy. He then suggested bringing me back to my natural color for roots and painting on the highlights/lowlights. I am so pleased with the results. He was extremely professional. And though he may be young, it was obvious to me he is well educated in his craft. The salon is beautiful. BEWARE OF THIS SALON. Kevin refused to give me a receipt for services and did not guarantee his overpriced hair extensions that ripped wide chunks of hair our of my head from my scalp. His ego appears to be more important as I tried to call the salon for help and Kevin accused me of ruining two sets of hair extensions that I felt needed to be done after he applied developer in my hair to initially do a color correction which caused most of my hair to fall out. Kevin of course tried to blame me for that as well. Just recently instead of allowing me to come into the salon as I was trying to make an appointment Kevin yelled at me and hung up on me repeatedly. I have a son who is also 24 which is the same age as Kevin and he would never be so disrespectful. I've also had to witness the salon staff publicly bashing any customer that had a complaint. BUYER BEWARE, as i was getting my hair done today i was asking Kevin about color. He told me he would put a "few highlights in" to give it something. When he was finished and i went to pay he charged for a full Balayage which was an extra $200!!!! I called to speak with him. I told him he nicely that i was over charged and i didn't ask for Balayage. His was rude and told me it was not his fault that i didn't ask the price. I told him I knew i could afford "a few highlights", not a full Balayage. I asked how much a few highlights were he said $120, that's was i should have been charged. He was arrogant and clearly conned me. I went there to have a nice day before the holidays and i was flat out treated badly and robbed. I am disputing the charges now. Worst haircut I have ever gotten. It looks like someone chopped my hair in my sleep. I asked for a dusting and the kid takes off 2 inches. My hair is already short and now I look like a boy. I complained to Kevin (who cut my hair) and all he said was "okay" "you'll live" "it will grow". Not the point. He sucks at cutting hair. Do NOT let him touch ur hair if u want it to look nice. My daughter went for a cut and color after a very disappointing visit a year or so ago. She wanted to give them another try. She (and I) feel swindled. $240 and 3 hours later she looks like she has gray hair and her hair "cut" is hardly perceivable. So disappointing. Went there for a deep condition and blow out. First thoughts- am I walking into a club or a hair salon. Left with a headache the music was so loud, and not everyone loves Beyoncé blasting while being pampered. The woman who washed my hair was wonderful, great personality. Unfortunately the woman who blew out my hair really didn't have talent or skills. I do my hair better at home, and I did just that. I wasn't impressed, in fact I hated my blow out. It was dry, frizzy, and left with some parts of my hair still wet! I went home, washed my hair (because it didn't smell clean from the products used) and blew out my own hair. I went in tonight for full highlights, a haircut, and a blowout. My stylist's name was Angel - which also described her personality. I was there for almost 4 hours and for the entire time she was attentive and watched my hair closely. She only focused on me while I was there, which is sometimes very rare to come by. She was very relatable and was extremely friendly. I have never been more satisfied with a salon experience. Ultimately the whole aura of the salon was modern chic. I've always felt rushed at different salons like they'd set a time for me to be done and stick to it even if I wasn't done. This was my 3rd visit to the salon. My first 2 were not wonderful but I wanted to give this business support so I decided to have my nails done there. Angel was very nice but had a limited selection of colors. I suppose I should have paid more attention at the time, but the coverage was not adequate. It is now 7 days later and my nails look like they had been done 3 weeks ago. Not only that, my nails are also peeling. Very nice staff! I just randomly walked in to their salon, as I am not from the area. The owner, Kevin, did my wife's balayage and I've never seen my wife so happy. I don't know anything about hair nor do I usually care about being in a salon but the staff really made me feel comfortable and entertained. This was my first appointment with Cristy at Kevin Kelly Salon and it was amazing! First off, the location is amazing. You can see the beach and the NYC skyline just down the street from the salon. Also, the salon itself is beautiful and very well kept. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. They all worked together as a team which was awesome to see. Really hoping to have a small town salon be my new go-to, but I just can't do it. I got extensions on a special. They were fine, looked fine. I've gotten extensions three times before so I know the deal. He didn't wash my hair or prep it before putting them in, whatever I'll deal. Then nothing was blended so I asked to come back in, he cut everything dry for like two minutes. The boy I brought with me was even surprised how quickly it took and how my hair wasn't being washed. Lastly I go to take them out. Well I guess they fail to tell you how much that's going to be. Luckily I have some sort of money because not everybody is able to just shell out $300 unknowingly. On top of that, nobody talks to you. They just talk amongst each other in the background which makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. All of the stylists in this salon are excellent. Right when I walk in I am seated to start my service. The hair stylists ensure their customers are satisfied and will do everything to make sure that they leave feeling that way. Kevin and Christy have done my hair and I always leave very happy and with my hair feeling amazing. I've had very bad experiences in the past at hair salons, but not this one. If I could give it no stars I would. After purchasing a Groupon for haircut blow dry and double process. I called the salon on Wednesday and spoke to Stacy. I explained that I had the Groupon, what it was for as well as that I have both base color and highlights. Stacy told me she had time on Friday at 10 am. I just got here and my appointment was changed to Nicole who explained to me that "here - double process means base color only". She went on to say that double process at this salon means they will cover the root and tone the ends. I'm 44. I've been dying my hair since I'm 17 double process has always meant base color and highlights and this is what was discussed with Stacy over the phone. This place is a total rip off that tries to get you in the door and then pull a bait and switch. Read the other reviews - other people claim they paid for a Groupon only to not get the service for which they paid. My experience was not a one time thing. It appears it's common practice here. Nicole called the manager over who again tried to tell me that double process is only base at the root and tone the ends. Completely unethical business. Stay far away !!! read more

Won't ever go back here again. I got a Groupon for a cut blowout single process hair color and conditioning treatment. I kid you not my roots aren't even the same color as the rest of my hair. My hair feels dry after he just left regular conditioner in my hair just like 4 minutes longer than usual. Then I asked for cascading bangs and got an ugly choppy mess after he tried to fix it. I showed a color and got nowhere near the color I wanted and then I had hair down to my lower back and I know stylists love to cut but I've never had a problem with my length before but this guy cut off up to shoulder length and I know he did not have to cut it that much. I left that place devastated because I worked so hard on growing my hair. I treated myself for my birthday but it's the worst hair cut experience I ever had. I'm such an easy going person and let them do whatever they want with minimal interruptions because I know hair stylists have their own thing.
