I can not recommend to use Kevin Murphy Concrete Driveways. While Kevin was extremely pleasant, and assured his warranty, he never attempted to address any of the issues with our driveway, and I attempted many times to get him to come out. The driveway was poured in wet weather and the mix of concrete was not great, because it looks like a splotchy, diseased driveway. He assured us this would fade in time (more than a few months), which is not true, as it has been 2 years. This must be his technique to get the customer to forget about the issue until you don't care anymore. There is also a corner of the driveway that has a significant jagged, surface crack - not a crack from a control joint... He never attempted to fix this either - so his warranty is worth absolutely nothing. The absolute worst, though, was the patio he poured below our deck, in which he poured concrete around our existing deck support beams, which ended up causing them to rot. At the time, I did not know this was an issue, but in researching, this should NEVER be done. Now I have to figure out how to replace the wood and cut out some of the existing patio because of a shortcut his company took to do something the absolute wrong way. read more

Kevin Murphy and his crew installed a 35 foot brick retaining wall at the top of our driveway and it is everything we hoped for and more. Kevin's crew (led by Daniel) was very hard working and talented. They accommodated our "design" preference for the top layer of our wall and did a great job matching it to our house. There was a minor miscommunication on some leftover gravel but Kevin was quick to have it fixed once he understood what we expected. Kevin Murphy just finished my driveway. Before hiring Kevin I got other estimates. Kevin offered a full warranty, laid crushed rock before pouring the concrete, and planned on two days to complete the job not one. Others offered a warranty if the crack was over 3/8 inch. My driveway already had cracks of less than 3/8 inch and I needed a new one. That was a horrible warranty. Also, other companies were only going to pour crushed rock over parts under the driveway. My son is an engineer, specializing in storm water design systems. I asked him about that and he said I definitely need crushed rock throughout. Finally, I thought one day would be rushed and I didn't want that. Kevin took two days and still had to return for clean up etc. Consequently, I chose Kevin. The work was done perfectly. The crew was was experienced and did the job just as planned. It looks great. Very pleased. They cleaned up and even put more dirt around the edges of the concrete. Every single week this guy and another guy run ads in the Dunwoody newspaper and neither one of them could return my phone call for an estimate. Seems like a giant waste of money to run an ad if you're too busy to return calls from people trying to give you money. I give this guy two stars because the lady that answered the phone was very friendly. Called her twice and all she can do is relay the information to people that are too good to deal with customers I guess. It's been 3 weeks and still haven't heard from him. read more

Kevin Murphy epitomizes what's right about small businesses. He responded to our request for a proposal by visiting our home and providing a detailed quotation within a few days. His crew arrived on the date promised and began their work without delay; it was obvious they knew what they were doing. Over the four days of the project, my wife and I watched the entire crew perform their specialized tasks enroute to an excellent final product. The area they had to replace was quite large and they also moved our sidewalk several feet, exactly as we had asked. Watching them work was a pleasure, and seeing their attention to detail, especially as far as the engineering aspects were concerned--drainage, level, etc.-- was fascinating. Mr. Murphy was present during each day to check on the progress and quality of the work. When they finished, they were meticulous in the cleanup, had protected our landscaping where they could, or, in minor areas, replaced the topsoil and mulch. For the amount of work we saw needed to complete the project, Mr. Murphy's pricing seemed quite reasonable, especially knowing the cost of concrete alone is high. His crew worked tirelessly and it was obvious they knew exactly what their responsibilities were and were eager to discharge them well. Additionally, they all seemed to enjoy their work. I would recommend Kevin Murphy Concrete Driveways highly and will talk about him in my neighborhood, and thank the neighbors that recommended his company in the first place.
