You can call all around but I do not think you are going to find a company that is more professional and will work with you from start to finish as what Hemma does. They may not be the cheapest if you call every concrete person on the Internet but they are very professional, communicate well and will handle the process from start to finish with permits, prep, pouring and clean up. They were always on time, poured the driveway in one day, cleaned everything up after the 5 day wait period and made sure they met all my concerns when it came to water drainage. They also have a very good warranty, better than most of the other companies I called. Hemma definitely provided A+ service. read more

Hemma contracted to do an aggregate driveway for us about a year and a half ago. It was a disaster that went on for a YEAR! They apparently didn't really know how to do an aggregate driveway but told us they did. They had to take the driveway out completely AND RE-POUR, and then redo 5 blocks from the second attempt that had long cracks or other mistakes. The driveway is now two-toned and looks very mismatched, instead of the (very special) driveway we had hoped for. They sent crews that did not know what they were doing and messed up time and again--crews that were "hire for the day" kind of crews. We had to correct them over and over for doing things wrong and call the managers who were not there unless we called! They admitted each time they redid the drive or parts of it that they had done a lousy job, but it would just happen all over again! It took forever--one year--to get this lousy job finished! I would suggest you look for another company to do your job! read more

Hemma did a fantastic job on the driveway itself but we had also included paver walkways and brick steps. It became clear that they use an outsource company for the other work, the pavers took a lot longer to put in then what they said and the brick steps were of poor quality. We asked they fix them and they had to tear out a big chunk and re-do it. It was put right in the end but be careful if other than concrete work. read more

They recently redid our driveway and we are very happy with the end product. The took out the old one and the new one is very smooth and pretty. Cost was about on average, if not slightly lower than other bids we received. They were top rated in the home services book, so that's why we went with them. And they did a quality job. read more

We were really please with the quality of the driveway that Hemma installed. They were responsive to our needs and the end product was very attractive. We continue to receive compliments on the driveway and feel that it was money well spent from both a functional and aesthetic perspective. They completed the work in a timely fashion, and paid attention to important details such as proper drainage and installing pvc pipes for running power/wiring under the driveway. Our project manager, Russell, was dedicated to completing the work to our satisfaction and made himself available whenever we had a question or concern. 8/3/17 Hemma Quoted me a job in June 2017, we accepted the quote and booked a date to do the work done in Early September based on their schedule. On 7/30 they emailed me to advise me they could NOT honor their quote and they would need an additional $950 to do the job, over 10% increase. I made several calls to one of the owner, Matt Cogbill,but he never returned the call. All l ever received was a email saying they did not want to do the job now. I would NOT recommend Hemma Concrete for any residential work! If they can not honor their quote how can you trust they would honor their warranty? read more

Used Hemma a couple years ago to replace my driveway, and they did an excellent job. I also had decorative pavers included in the project which unfortunately have come loose. I first contacted Hemma four months ago to ask if they would repair it, they said they would, but nobody showed up until 3 months later. Since then, the bricks have come loose again and even though I've sent several emails and spoke with folks about the problem, it still hasn't been fixed. Everyone is nice on the phone, but there is no follow through. What separates contractors is how they handle a problem, and so far, I'm disappointed. My wife and I called Hemma Concrete and talked to Reginald Cook. He first was very nice and was willing to do what he called a small job as a favor to my father-in-law who had a large job for him that he completed. Reginald Cook made a verbal contract with my wife to do our job at our home. We had to work with Frank Diaz as the project manager. Frank would tell us that we were scheduled to get our job done and he would call us. However, he would never call us. After several times, I called Reginald back. Reginald keep talking about that he was doing us a favor and that we needed to be patient with the timing. It was already approaching four weeks. To make a long story short, Reginald Cook got made because I was calling out the unprofessionalism of his staff and company that he told me he was not going to do our job and good luck with it. He hung up the phone. I do not recommend this company at all! When some tells you that they will do something or call you, I expect them to do it. I don't believe it is too much to ask. BEWARE! I am very dissapointed with the company.The workers from our neighbor's house cut our power line, confirmed by an AT&T technical support man who had to come to our house the next day, so I went to politely speak with the boss of the contractors to explain the situation. I was told it was not his problem, and he got in his truck and left. I called the main line to speak with a Hemma driveway agent named Barbara. She did not apologize at all, even after all the damage they caused. I do not know who they think they are. Everyone is human , and they simply need to admit they made a mistake. Their ignorant reputation and shockingly discourteous attitude is what caused me to choose a different company to redo my driveway last year, even before this incident happened. Why do they put up a sign with their number if they treat people like this? Their manner of handling situations is quite funny. read more
