When I bought my first house with my husband back in 2011, we switched to a multi-policy for Home and (3 vehicle) Auto Insurance. When we became out-of-state landlords in 2013, she helped us through the tiny changes required when switching to a dwelling-only policy. And for the one car accident we were involved with years ago, she also counseled us through this hellish process too! Through it all... seamless transactions, thorough documentation, and the utmost willingness to educate me along the way. And may I even be unprofessional here and say prompt AF!? I thought I was fast!! But here's the thing, Dana's service didn't stop with my Missouri policies. While she couldn't insure my Renter's Insurance policies in the other states I've lived, she absolutely still held my hand when I ran into issues with other insurance agencies in CO, NY, and CA. Sometimes all it takes to solve a problem is a bit of guided expertise! And for 8+ years while living on the road, that's what she did! So you better believe when we made the abrupt decision to move home to Lake Saint Louis, Dana was our first call to discuss our new Home Insurance policy. I had been with Progressive insurance for the last several years and they started off pretty good but I made the mistake of joining their "snapshot" program and after 6 months regretted I ever did, I got dinged for everything! My insurance kept going up higher and higher and I was puzzled bcuz I'm a senior citizen with no accidents or anything on my record and my credit score was good so I wasn't understanding why I wasn't getting better rates. I paid over $300 a year for renter's insurance...WHY?!! And almost $800 every 6 months, soon to be over $800 on my next 6 month renewal in June for car insurance on a car 10 years old!!! I received a card in the mail some time back from Kathy, looked at it and laid it on the table with all my other unread mail, thank God I didn't throw it away! When it came to me just how much I was spending on insurance, I remembered the card and decided to call the lady on the card to see what difference she could make and boy am I glad I did. Her office is close to home, her assistants were very hospitable and I got the service I had been longing for. Turns out Donna was able to get me comparable coverage for almost $500 cheaper than what Progressive was charging me and I paid $200 less for renter's insurance. Talk about saving me money, that's a nice chunk of change, thank God I didn't toss Kathy's card in the trash as I normally would have thinking it was just junk mail!!! On that call she told me all the ways she could save me money, which would have been great to hear prior to me already making a switch. Not a fan of not being told of discounts I could have already been utilizing. That's what an agent is suppose to do for you. By the end of the call she confirmed with me that my auto policy was in fact canceled and I was good to start my new insurance May 1st. I asked her multiple times to make sure. I received a bill from All State in May which was expected for coverage in April. However, I also received a bill, which was auto deducted from my account through auto pay, in June which would have been for May coverage. I understand these things happen and called Anna to have this corrected. Upon explaining the situation to her and reminding her of our past conversation her response was, "I don't remember". Well that's great and all, but certainly wasn't helpful. Don't agents make notes of their clients and any changes made? I said I wanted my policy canceled and to be refunded for May as I was now paying for two insurances. During these uncertain times, be gouged by auto insurance twice is less than ideal. I was asked to email her a copy of my declaration page with the new insurance company. I bit strange, as I've never had to provide proof of new insurance to an insurance company I was leaving, but figured it was to receive my reimbursement. She insisted on more documents or that my current ones were incorrect. All of her responses were short and unhelpful to the point where she began asking for ridiculous documents with no end in sight to get my policy canceled and refunded. I wound up having to call ANOTHER Allstate agent from a different county to help me. They were extremely helpful and agreed that my experience with Anna was absurd. Policy canceled and refunded within 20 mins with the new agent.
