The vet is great at soothing distressed animals, which in turn calms the owners. She offers really practical advice on all aspects of pet care, from diet through to grooming. Because the clinic is quite small, the waiting room isn't over run with sick cats and dogs - in fact, I've never seen more than 3 people in total waiting in the clinic at any one time. The treatment was also excellent and reasonably priced compared to the alternative emergency services available at the time.

They also have a cattery facility upstairs if you have to leave your cat overnight for any reason, and though they take them if you're going away for a weekend as well, I prefer a larger place so they can walk around. I can honestly say Dr Jane exceeded our expectations as a vet and barkers offers the best service I have found. They really do care about our cat! Our kitten had a series of vaccinations that day and, due to the steady hand and calm nature of the vet, she got through it without protest. Can't complain. The front desk staff, as previously mentioned, are incredibly nice and obviously love animals, which creates a very friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door. I have never felt like 'a number' and they always spend time and answer all my questions. Sometimes the answer is 'I'm not sure' but it's always followed up with 'but I will find out for you / ask a specialist'. I have never had a problem with under / over servicing (never recommended unnecessary tests) and they will always discuss pros / cons of treatment options. There is always a follow-up phone call to check on the progress of my dog following a consultation. I feel all the staff genuinely care about my dogs and are passionate about their job. I can't recommend them highly enough.
