I have been a customer at the Military Road location for 2 years. I opened a savings account to…read moretransfer money around from one type of investment to another. First of all, they held my money for 10 days,when the money was coming from a major institution, which cost me money. Then they released money without authorization from an account that didn't have the balance to support the transaction, because the prior auth had been revoked. They never verified that the electronically signed auth was in fact generated by me. Then, I could not flag the transaction, because they don't have flags for ACH or EFT transfers. Could not reach security or the branch which didn't open until 9 am. Literally, I might as well have my money under the mattress, it would be safer. In short, I can't get to my money but somebody else can, without any way to alert anyone to the fraud.

A great little branch near Elmwood/Hertel…read more As I walked in, I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I did inquire if they had a bathroom and the man responded that they did. Okay, thanks..but, he never did point me to the bathroom and I didn't care to ask a second time. I deposited a check here; it was quick, painless and easy. The teller was like a ninja with how fast she was able to deposit my check. I was impressed; I've been to a lot of different branches and I swear I've never had someone be that speedy. It took about 2 seconds. I haven't had to go to this branch to do any serious banking just yet (such as ACH transfers or anything of the sort), but they seem pretty laid back and not overly busy. Granted, I did come here around 3p on a weekday, so we'll see if this changes as I'm sure to be back numerous times since this is the closest branch to my house.

At first the payments were reasonable and I had no problems. Then my full coverage insurance lapsed, I had a major medical situation that cost me a lot of money and set me back financially. So they added full coverage on top of my car loan. There was an occasion where I paid the actual car payment but was late on the insurance added to the note. They reported that my car payment was 30 days late. I ended up getting my own full coverage and went back to paying the actual car payment. I guess I didn't understand that even though I now had full coverage insurance on my own I still had to pay for the insurance that had been added on to the note. So I ended up getting another two 30 day late payments added to my credit report, even though I paid the car note portion of the payment. I was never late again. I worked hard and ended up paying the car off. I hired a law firm to try and have the late payments removed from my credit report. This company is being so difficult. The car is paid off but they won't remove the 3 late payments. I am a single mom who is trying to get a mortgage and I really need these removed. The worst credit union. I would not recommend them. Other companies have cooperated and removed late payments but not them. Im going to have to continue having the lawyer send them notices and letters. So difficult for no reason. Horrible company, never doing business with them again.

I recently had my banking information hacked and as a result had to change my account numbers…read more Because I use Bill pay and had several bills paid from the closed accounts I incurred numerous overdraft and other fees. I asked the bank to vaive these fees due to the circumstances but they refused. I also have accounts at Bank of America and had similar issues however their branch manager was very understanding and vaived all fees. If changing everything over again wasn't such a hassle I would move on from Northwest. I still may. This is a terrible bank. All about the $$$ and not so much about the customer.

The interest rates you receive on a shares account and on CD's are better than you get from a bank. We recently took out a new car loan there also. It pleases me to tell the car dealers that we can get a better rate here than they are willing to give. The loan officer was extremely helpful and friendly. I have not had a checking account here, just savings, CD's, and loans.
