I came to this BOA location to get a notarized copy of document for a visa application. The online…read morebooking system showed no appointments available for the next few weeks, so I decided to walk in. I was told by a receptionist claiming herself to be a Notary Public that she can't do a notarized copy because notarization requires signature. She told me what I was looking for is a "certified copy" which didn't involve a signature. She told me I should go to UPS to get the "certified copy". I showed her the list of documents required by the embassy where it clearly stated "notarized copy" is needed. She still wouldn't do it and asked me to go to UPS to get the "certified copy". I gave up. Oh. Did I mention that all of these conversations happened while I was at the very front door without any privacy and people walking pass by constantly? I went to M&T bank later and got a notarized copy without any problem. I had to write "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document", dated, and signed. The Notary Public then signed and stamped. I was treated much nicer at M&T too. I was welcomed by two staff members. I had my own semi-private room while the notarization took place. I would never go to BOA for a notary service anymore. It's a completely waste of time and make you feel bad about yourself as if you are an idiot for not knowing the difference between a "certified copy" and a "notarized copy". Obviously, the person at BOA knows how to do a notarized copy as a Notary Public. Ironically, I am a "Preferred Rewards Gold Member" at BOA because it's where I kept my direct deposits in. I didn't use M&T bank as much as BOA. I probably should consider changing my primary banking account to M&T.

First of all, they held my money for 10 days,when the money was coming from a major institution, which cost me money. Then they released money without authorization from an account that didn't have the balance to support the transaction, because the prior auth had been revoked. They never verified that the electronically signed auth was in fact generated by me. Then, I could not flag the transaction, because they don't have flags for ACH or EFT transfers. Could not reach security or the branch which didn't open until 9 am. Literally, I might as well have my money under the mattress, it would be safer. In short, I can't get to my money but somebody else can, without any way to alert anyone to the fraud.

A great little branch near Elmwood/Hertel…read more As I walked in, I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I did inquire if they had a bathroom and the man responded that they did. Okay, thanks..but, he never did point me to the bathroom and I didn't care to ask a second time. I deposited a check here; it was quick, painless and easy. The teller was like a ninja with how fast she was able to deposit my check. I was impressed; I've been to a lot of different branches and I swear I've never had someone be that speedy. It took about 2 seconds. I haven't had to go to this branch to do any serious banking just yet (such as ACH transfers or anything of the sort), but they seem pretty laid back and not overly busy. Granted, I did come here around 3p on a weekday, so we'll see if this changes as I'm sure to be back numerous times since this is the closest branch to my house.

At first the payments were reasonable and I had no problems. Then my full coverage insurance lapsed, I had a major medical situation that cost me a lot of money and set me back financially. So they added full coverage on top of my car loan. There was an occasion where I paid the actual car payment but was late on the insurance added to the note. They reported that my car payment was 30 days late. I ended up getting my own full coverage and went back to paying the actual car payment. I guess I didn't understand that even though I now had full coverage insurance on my own I still had to pay for the insurance that had been added on to the note. So I ended up getting another two 30 day late payments added to my credit report, even though I paid the car note portion of the payment. I was never late again. I worked hard and ended up paying the car off. I hired a law firm to try and have the late payments removed from my credit report. This company is being so difficult. The car is paid off but they won't remove the 3 late payments. I am a single mom who is trying to get a mortgage and I really need these removed. The worst credit union. I would not recommend them. Other companies have cooperated and removed late payments but not them. Im going to have to continue having the lawyer send them notices and letters. So difficult for no reason. Horrible company, never doing business with them again.

I recently had my banking information hacked and as a result had to change my account numbers…read more Because I use Bill pay and had several bills paid from the closed accounts I incurred numerous overdraft and other fees. I asked the bank to vaive these fees due to the circumstances but they refused. I also have accounts at Bank of America and had similar issues however their branch manager was very understanding and vaived all fees. If changing everything over again wasn't such a hassle I would move on from Northwest. I still may. This is a terrible bank. All about the $$$ and not so much about the customer.

Firstly I would like to start by saying I am not a Greater Niagara federal credit Union member. I…read moredo not bank with them but after my 2023 tax return refund was accidentally deposited to their Branch I know now of the Banks existence. While filing taxes the last 2 digits of my banks routing number was incorrect. Niagara Choice federal credit Union being the correct bank it was suppose to deposit to but with 2 wrong digits it was sent to Greater Niagara bank. My tax return was said to deposit on Feb 16 & Feb 22 in total amount combined $6,000. At date said no deposits were made to my bank acct. Irs stated money had been infact deposited so I went over my paperwork realized the error right away. Figuring out which bank the wrongfully entered routing number belonged to being Greater Niagara. Now I've called this bank both locations even stopped in person to the banks location on military road in Niagara falls they all stated my tax return was not there they never received it. In fact if they had it wouldn't of gone thru because my acct # entered was correct and with having 5 digit account number long beginning 158 it doesn't exist there let's not forget my Name Alexis Jaehn is not a member there. So no name match no bank account # match only the routing number. Now this being my error to begin with I put blame on myself but what really tickles me is I've spoken to the bank first week of March in person and by phone with no result. Now here we are in Aug 6 months later I call greater bank again and said look I've did foot work waited 120 days for investigation I've t down the tax refund processing line it all leads to your Bank. If you guys don't infact have my tax return then I want the trace # you guys either sent it back because I have trace number for both federal & state refund was sent to you. Now only now they have admitted to holding my tax return & kicked it back to the tax preparation. It only took 6 months for the bank denied multiple times they didn't have my return. I was not given an apology I was only told by bank teller to not make my mistake again. Which is just ignorant because people do make mistakes but I called you multiple times informing your Bank of my mistake you shunned me away. It being obvious your Banking system or employees which ever also makes errors because I'm living proof of it. I appreciate all the support & help your bank has given me which was none. I forcefully fixed it myself. Thank you guys! This would of never happened at Niagara Choice federal credit Union because they would of actually taken my seriously and investigated my allegations.. Now my refund is finally being mailed hopefully I'll get them in the next 2 weeks which is the middle of Aug 2024. If you took the time to read my complaint thank you.
