Super polite employees and a nice little place. But the Cuban Sandwich had ONE thin slice of ham and ONE thin slice of pork. I mean, it was paper thin. We eat here every time in town. I asked a local where the best place was to grab lunch. What a find! He calls it Dino's which is accurate too. Known for their Cuban sandwiches. I have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. I never noticed an overt political vibe until I sat down for lunch today. Fox News was on every TV and the owner was talking derisively about democrats with two patrons in the middle of this small shop. Everyone is free to have their own political views, sandwich shop owners included, but all I wanted was to eat my sandwich in peace. When in Panama City, give this place a try. When I asked the locals their favorite places to eat for breakfast, Key West seemed to be the recurring answer. And oh boy, I can see why! The breakfast bowl is SOOOO good. I don't think I enunciated it enough, but my goodness, the best grits I've ever had--and I don't even like grits. The bowl I got was literally just grits, eggs, and ham, but the way they prepared it made all of the flavors seem as if it was amplified with a combination of grandma's home cooking and southern hospitality. Definitely not the most healthy option, but when a dish tastes that good who cares?! For $5 a meal, I can't see why anyone would give this place a less than stellar rating. We were really craving these sandwiches today, but were extremely disappointed when we arrived. We thought the shop was open until 4 (the giant chalk on the window is very misleading), and showed up at 3:02. As we stood at the door, hand on the handle, we heard it lock from inside.
