The artist is Jorge De La Torriente and his photography on display ranged from beach and oceanfront scenes to Cuba to the Angel Tree outside Charleston. Niall was very gracious and helpful, even after we stated we were only window shopping. While I would love to own one of these pieces, we need to get our house in order first to where having a piece of fine art on the wall won't look so out of place! But hopefully we'll be back one day when we're ready to make a purchase.

This beautiful store is owned by Adam Russell and Kelly Lever, two creatives that put their minds together and opened this shop. Now they have a ton of contributing artists in the Florida Keys. Along with the pottery, they also offer various paintings and other creations for sale. All kinds of price points and I felt my purchase was reasonable. What caught my attention were these colorful Soul Fish. They came in small, medium and large and I I truly could not decide on which color to purchase so I went with my favorite color of seafoam green. Yes, 20 years ( I thought about it same amount of time I dated my wife before asking her to marry me. ) We met Trevor and asked him to show us a picture of the Androscoggin river in Maine, , runs behind our home there, and he knew right away what I was talking about. When the lights came on in the showing area, I quickly recognized this as the same picture, but I was 20 years older and this time it did not speak to me. Undaunted, Trevor began to focus on us and what might spark our interest. We settled upon "Sunday Drive" (it also reminded us of our home in Greene Maine) Now hangs in our Florida home but may soon end up in Maine leaving once again a blank spot over the mantle -- and the search continues!

We greatly appreciated the fine job Nancy (a greatly-talented local artist herself) did with padding our artwork so we could take it home on the Key West Express shuttle boat with us and it was a delight to converse with her. We just didn't seem to ever run into one in Key West. So we checked out this gallery on Duvall. A huge selection of reprints and original art works, in different mediums. We found a nice watercolor of Hemingway's house to add to our stair collection for a great price.
