When Chris departed State farm our policies automatically transferred to Justin Kruse. We got off to a really rocky start when we were notified by mail that our policy for our apartment building had been canceled. There was no communication with us about any concerns they had or anything. They listed some minor issues about tenants having trash by the house and some other things. I was irritated that this policy was canceled with no discussion, and frankly a bit surprised because these commercial policies are quite a bit more expensive than your average home policy. At that point I started a new policy with another agency. Then there were a few poor discussion with his office staff, including one of them telling me that if I had questions about flood insurance rates I needed to talk to FEMA, Justin didn't have time for me. Again, even if for self preservation alone, I thought they would make time to answer my questions because at the time we had 3 rentals, 1 homeowner, 4 cars, and 3 life insurance policies. I had enough poor communication and brush offs and decided to migrate the remainder of my policies out of his office. He hadn't actually ever taken the time to call us in person or set up a face to face meeting. In December we got a new policy for our homeowners with the new agency we are using. Apparently someone may have dropped the ball and not have been notified at that time that we changed. In April they called about our homeowners policy and we told them that we had moved to another agency. Again in August, they(office staff of course) called to tell us they needed to talk to us about the policy and I was very upset to hear that they were STILL charging us for a policy 8 months after we changed providers! So this week I got a check for less than $40 telling me they canceled our policy effective September 3rd. We exchanged several calls(Staff) and emails about when they knew for sure and about the conversation in May that they have no record of. Finally I went to his office to talk to him in person about when they were notified and how far back they will back date the refund and during the conversation he says to me "If I thought that discussion really happened I would go to bat for you" . So if you are just dying for the opportunity to be ignored and then called a liar please contact Justin Kruse. All joking aside, there are too many other great agents that actually care to use this guy!

We have been extremely satisfied with their service, rates and employees. Recently they really went above and beyond for us when we had an issue with our health care provider, Atrio Health Plans. In the process of changing accounting systems, Atrio totally fouled up our monthly electronic payment and charged us four times for one premium payment Calls to Atrio management failed to solve the problem and we would have been out a substantial amount of money if HGFCU hadn't stepped in and refunded the money Atrio "mistakenly" withdrew. Instead of us having to do battle with the inept accounting department at Atrio, HGFCU intervened on our behalf. In addition to being extremely professional, HGFCU staff know us and provide personalized service. Five Stars!

If you want nice friendly reps, false verbal promises, bait and switch tactics, randomly incorrect…read moremath, iffy accounting, and never ending 'special' insurance documents in the mail that you must have forgotten to sign... Well then, this is your place. You know that feeling when you realize the sweet salesperson is actually cooperating with the manager of the used car lot and that you aren't such a good judge of character after all. Well, it's a lot like that sinking feeling. Examples: 1) I refinanced my vehicle during a divorce (short on time and mental capacity). My salesperson did a hard sale on 'special insurance' with the promise we'd review the 'special' deals shortly thereafter (never happened). Turns out the 'special' insurance was as valuable as a Radio Shack warranty. Also, the fees were pulled from my principle which increases the loan duration and interest owed - something that Mr. Salesman seemed to have forgotten in the sales pitch. Can you say payday loan tactic? I should have bailed here but everyone was sooo nice... 2) I transferred some debt and was told the credit rating cutoff for the lowest interest rate. Knowing that my rating was well over 50 points higher, I agreed verbally to the transfer. After a few payments, I rechecked the math (see below) and found the interest rate was about double what was verbally promised. I complained. Heritage Grove said I was approved for the higher rate based on a credit score from MANY YEARS ago. When I replied that this was a ridiculous business practice, I was told that my complaint was not valid because no one else complained (a second ridiculous statement for many reasons). The excuse was that Heritage Grove just doesn't check credit scores for these 'special' credit-score deals (based on credit scores) unless the customer reminds them too (and doesn't disclose that rather pivotal information either). In short, I was stuck with the higher interest rate. Too bad so sad. Can you say bait and switch? 3) Heritage Grove used a method to identify deposit accounts that was kind of... let's say... not industry standard. A deposit was applied to the wrong account and when they fixed it, the accounting was wrong. Can you say the most basic skill set a bank should have is ACCOUNTING? 4) I have a few examples of incorrect math both by loan reps and in the somewhat automated accounting system. But they were sooo nice... Can you say buy a calculator? 5) And the never-ending 'special' deals sent by mail that are packaged with that 'you forgot to sign' type language. Can you say predatory marketing is most effective against seniors? Luckily, I'm not a poor person anymore and can escape after only being bilked for a few hundred dollars (adds up quick - especially with transfer/refinance fees when leaving Heritage Grove). You've been warned. Proceed at your own risk.

Me and my wife have been with Paul for over 16 years. This is our story. We have two cars and a…read morehome. Earlier this year we started shopping for an SUV. I called talked to Paul to find out how much my insurance would change adding another vehicle. Obviously I wanted to know because different vehicles can cost more. I was looking at a Ford Explorer limited. So I asked Paul for a quote. We talked for about 20 minutes. Final monthly cost was quoted at 204 and some change. Not bad only an increase of about 40 dollars for us. It had all the safety feature which we really liked. Picked it up a week later. This of course is where it all goes down hill. I called to add the new vehicle to our coverage. Only to find out the price is actually 261. I'm like no I talked to Paul last week 204 was the quoted price. The response was oh it looks like he forgot to include the home. This was a lie because I know my home insurance is only about 30 dollars. The math didn't add up. Paul never talked to me again only Elizabeth. And she insisted it was for the cars only. These people are shady. They don't care what they quoted or keep track. Price can and will change whenever they feel like it. My advice steer clear look for alternatives. I canceled my insurance with them three days later and ended up saving 130 dollars a month. Do yourself a favor shop around. I guess I owe them a thank you for making me shop around and save money :)

Wasn't until day of signing (where if we didn't sign we would be out an additional $1800) we were told that my fiances stuff would not be. Poor business etiquette. We asked all the way through everything good all that we wanted covered yes yes. Not at all what happened at end. AND they took her off the title with out our permission. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE.
