The PA Morgan Miles diagnosed my skin lesion as an aktonic keratosis without a biopsy and just used liquid nitrogen on it. Turns out that it was Malignant Melanoma and I am now undergoing treatment for a stage 3 cancer. They did not biopsy it until 10 months later when I complained it was not healing, but by then it had grown large and deep with ulcerations and needed surgery and immunotherapy. The PA's in this office need re-education and when I called the office and spoke to the office manager about this situation she was uncaring and said they did nothing wrong. I asked for a Follow up call to let me know how they were going to prevent something like this from happening again and the managers said they would not do that. I will be notifying the medical board in hopes that they can order some re-education for the PA's or more supervision by physicians. read more

What a horrible practice Keys Dermatology has become. Dr. Don performed my biopsy on July 18 and said if it was positive I could try a cream for initial treatment. Of course it came back positive and the office wanted to schedule surgery. I asked about the cream and received no response. I called twice a week for 3 weeks and even went into the office inquiring about the cream. No response. It's been 6 weeks now and I have not received a call back. The staff has been polite but of No Help. I have given up on this practice and will seek treatment elsewhere. September 2, 2025. After posting negative reviews on the Internet I finally receive a phone call from the office asking me to come in. Too little too late. Where was your concern six weeks ago? I am a disabled veteran and had a very bad experience with the keys dermatology office. Staff was very rude and failed to see me three times bad communication with setting appointments making it almost impossible to evaluate my concerns with my skin. Staff tried to coverup their tracks with text messages that were never receive and no room to accommodate my needs. Trying to save all future patients from being treated poorly. My advice is to retrain your staff to meet of the clients. read more

The worst experience ever. Be prepared to pay more just because you have a visit with a doctor not P.A.-c. They charged us for a new patient because we haven't been there in three years but nobody informed us about this ridiculously stupid rule. The doctor proceeded some quick treatment without letting us know that would be additional charge. And the skin cancer screening was a fastest one I have ever seen. We had to point her some spots on the skin which we've been worried about. She just quickly said the name of it and handed me a flyer to read about that. But most of all, the price at the check out almost killed us. Because they didn't give us detailed bill we didn't know what we're paying for. I asked for one which showed only some codes. We had no choice but pay (no insurance). I'm still angry and disappointed. I was there before and every time I had very good treatment and pleasure experience. But then my appointments were with guy doctor and P.A.-C lady which I highly recommend if you don't want to be ripped off. It's not worth to see the lady with doctor diploma there. I've been to this office several times but no more. The staff aren't friendly, but worse was the quality of my last exam. Dr V came in with an attitude and spent 2 minutes at most giving me an exam that was not at all thorough. I'm going back to my dermatologist in Chicago. They're first rate. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!! I had some facial procedures done three weeks ago with this office. I was told to wait two weeks and I would see the results. Well i wasn't happy after a $700 plus bill. They first of all never returned the call until the next day, late afternoon. The girl that called back, Kelly, was not very helpful or pleasant. I wanted a touch up and she had said she would get back to me. Well, 8 days later and another message and NOTHING. Since Dr. Pruett retired, the QUALITY OF SERVICE is TERRIBLE. All they wanted was to get the credit card in their greedy little hands. NO FOLLOW UP, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOTHING. I will definitely inform all friends and aquaintances not to solicit this establishment. Again, very disappointed since Dr. Pruett retired, time to find a reputable dermatologist. I'm hoping to help others who, apparently had pleasant experiences when the Dermatology center was owned by Dr. Pruett--who I am guessing had a great reputation...he is no longer in the building. I have a susceptibility to in grown hairs and, specifically, a history of cysts, due to my thick curly hair. I had discovered a cyst on my face about six years ago when it was very small and unnoticeable. Over the course of the past two months, it was still unnoticeable to others, but I could tell it had grown in size. Knowing that its growth only leads to infection and bigger problems, I wanted to be proactive and have it extracted. I turned to the internet, and found that Keys Dermatology had a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. I called and informed the person who answered the phone of the situation, and that I wanted to schedule a surgery. She told me that the next available appointment was a week and a half away, so, I scheduled it for that morning, taking off work, and allowing two days for recovery, if need be. I showed up early to fill out necessary paperwork, and got in at my scheduled appointment time. In discussions with the aid who took me back to the examination room, it turns out that my request for cyst removal was not communicated on the paperwork that I had been provided by the lady who took the appointment, and that the odds on my having it removed that day were slim to none, but, I could speak with the doctor. Two minutes later, Dr. V came into the room. I repeated to him, what I had conveyed three times prior, that I needed the cyst on my face removed before it became infected. He agreed that I did indeed have a cyst, and then proceeded to ask me if I smoked. I told him that I did--not knowing what that had to do with anything--and he proceeded to tell me that, given the cyst's location, that would make sense. I told him that my prior two cysts were on my back, so, I didn't understand his logic. He then proceeded to tell me that I ran a huge risk for infections, that I would have a permanent scar, that the scar would be small, but, if I chewed or smiled, it could be a bigger scar. I stared at him dumbfounded, and then asked if he could remove it. He told me that they never schedule surgeries on the same day as consultations. WHAT CONSULTATION? I told you what I had, and you agreed with me, and, had I not had similar incidents in my past, your warning to me might very well have scared me out of having the procedure done to begin with, assuring further problems for me down the road. Thanks. Had I known I was in for a consultation when I made the appointment, not a surgery, I probably wouldn't have been as upset, but, the lady who made the appointment never relayed that to me--and if that's the policy of office, she surely should have. I asked when was the earliest time I could have the procedure, and was told I'd have to make an appointment for it on my way out. The earliest date was three weeks away, but, I was told, I could call the office as often as I liked to see if there was a cancellation...EXCUSE ME? Shouldn't YOU be calling ME to tell me that there's an earlier cancellation? My time is valuable, too. I paid $91 to sit in a chair with paper on the back of it for less than ten minutes--my appointment was at 9:15, and when I checked the time when I got to the car, it was 9:25. I might have gotten in a tad earlier, but, still. This was a Monday, and by Wednesday I had gone to a different doctor in the same building, and the cyst was removed in less than a half hour. So, given that I would be charged $50 if I was a no show, or didn't cancel in the appropriate amount of time, the Thursday morning after my surgery, I called the office and asked to cancel my appointment for surgery with them. I was told by the person on the phone that she wasn't authorized to cancel my appointment, and forwarded my call to the person who could--telling me to leave my name and number if she didn't answer, which I did. I heard nothing for the rest of the day. I called back again the next day to cancel, and was greeted by the same line of bull that the person answering the phone wasn't capable of cancelling, and they again tried to forward me to the person who could, after verifying that my appointment was still on the books. I could only assume that this was their attempt at milking another $50 bucks out of me, hoping with the prior day's voicemail that my appointment would be cancelled. I was livid. I informed her that if I was charged $50 dollars, I would dispute that charge, and that if I didn't hear from them by the end of the business day, I would go about taking the steps to dispute the original pointless $91 that I paid upon my initial visit. A couple of hours later, I got a phone call from the office, and my appointment was cancelled. God forbid, if I ever have another cyst in need of removal, and Keys Dermatology was my only local option, I would book a flight to the mainland and have it taken care of there. read more

I've had two appointments at Dr. Pruett's Key West office. They were friendly and efficient both times. Dr. Pruett is very knowledgeable about skin cancers and have me a few options for treatment. I have never been treated so badly by anyone more less my doctors office manager. I found out that it was Mary Pruett who is the office manager and the Doctor Pruett's wife. I called to make my son an appointment for a skin disease and received an appointment. There is a cream for this disease and I simply asked the office staff if they could ask the doctor or doctors assistant to call in a prescription for him. Our appointment was for the next day. She turned me over to Mary Pruett, I asked the same question and was told no, I simply asked to speak to my doctor, (I was not upset yet), she said no, I said I would like to speak to him or his assistant or if they could pass on a message for me. She continued to say No and said that they do not argue in this office and that she would be cancelling my sons appointment and DENIED him medical treatment. She said I was no longer going to see the doctor for my problem either. She was extremely rude. I told her that he really needed medical help and this was our doctor and she said she was refusing him treatment. I said that Doctor Pruett said for me to walk in on Tue for my medical problem and she said that he would never say that calling me a liar and if I showed up she would call the police. Doctor Pruett get a hold of your wife, she is a nightmare. read more
