Not as many Kentucky vendors as there used to be. Lots of fun and a great way round come sample whisky and Bourbon from all over. My pick for this year is "Blackened" which I didn't know the history before this event. This is Metallicas brand. I'm not a Metallica fan but this was the best whiskey showcases here. I also really like the "Dirty Monkey" Banana peanut butter whiskey. Not a scotch fan but the only one I've tried that for me makes the cut is "Highland Park 18". The food vendors are a big part of the fun to sample what they feature. This location is really great and the volunteers are staff are amazing. We love this place with free parking and lots of fun and great music. A bacon eating contest. See you next year

Worst! Worst! Worst! This was over sold with not enough vendors. It was poorly planned. The lines…read morefor most vendors were 30+ minutes long. Not very family friendly because of the crowds and needs more kids activities. The non ticket holders like the mountain bikers were going through the crowds to get to and from the gondolas, so that only added to crowd problem. There were "no dog" signs at the entrances and there were dogs. The kids craft and the face painters were the best and only activities that anyone of us enjoyed. The couple of bacon vendors we did get to try were really good! We didn't even get to use half of our vendors tickets that we paid for on our scanner bracelets. It was one of the biggest scams and money traps. To top it off the last vendor we waited 40+ minutes just to be told that the scanner for the bracelets were taken away from the vendor at 5 to close the event. There were people ahead of me that had waited for more than an hour and didn't get to get what they were waiting on. If this festival was to come to my home town outside of Keyston I might go but I will not return to this event at Keystone again. Over crowded and overpriced!

Most of the beer is from Breckenridge Brewery, which isn't my favorite brewery in town, but they make a good lager. I wouldn't travel here especially for the festival, you might be disappointed, but we've happened to be in town during the festival and it's a special memory from our trip and a great way to spend an afternoon exploring Main Street. My favorite part of the festival is the traditional beer steins. Tip: if you want to attend and get your commemorative ceramic stein, preorder it from the website. We heard from others that this was the first year they went back to the tried and true ceramic German beer steins after veering off course for the past few years. September 2024

With Denver enjoying a pretty decent heat wave, the BF suggested a trip up to Breckenridge, between the 30 degree drop in temperature and a great road trip, we couldn't resist. To our surprise there was an Art Festival in Breckenridge this weekend. It's a bit different then the one in Cherry Creek. A lot less crowded and I would say and more modern art if you ask me. Not as big as Cherry Creek, in my opinion I think the Breckenridge Art Festival is the perfect size. My Mom even found some art she decided to buy for her house back home. I fell in love with some great photography there as well and would love to buy some in the coming years for my house. With the weather being cooler and the crowds being easier to migrate through, the Breckenridge Art Festival is the better choice in CO. And if you don't find any art, there are a million cute boutiques to shop at as well.

It's grown quite a bit in the last few years and seems to attract artists that don't necessarily frequent the other festivals. Even if something isn't my taste, most of the art here is at least interesting to look at. The past couple of years, I've found items to take home. This year I bought a couple of pottery pieces at fantastic prices (I got a collector discount since I've purchased from that artist a few times before) and I spent out of my comfort zone to get an amazing mixed media piece that I absolutely fell in love with. If you like art and you like escaping to the mountains during the hot summer, I'd highly recommend this festival. Look for it on a weekend around July 4th each year.

It was held at the Riverwalk Center, and despite having a ticket, it took us 20 minutes to get in once doors opened. Not to worry , there were plenty of samples to be had! They gave you a commemorative jumbo shot glass where you could go to the various booths and receive samples of straight liquor and liqueur or craft cocktails. It was really busy, and despite the seemingly treacherous flooring in the Riverwalk Center, it was pretty civilized and organized. Most people thought it was worth the $45! My favorites were the Rising Sun and Angel Fire. I also liked two cocktails especially well--the old fashioned sno-cone and the smoky one with the cookies! I might have gotten pictures:) We took a shuttle, don't drink and drive!

We had very little information to go off of so we took a leap of faith, booked the condo, and bought the tickets online. For all of $25 we weren't sure if we were stumbling into a bust of an event or not, and visions of standing around in the cold amongst folding tables drinking small thimbles full of cheap vodka danced in our heads. As it turns out the event is apparently one of the best kept secrets in Colorado! The event was indoors at a great venue, extremely well run with a large turnout, live band, food, and tons of extremely attentive spirit distributors exhibiting. Instead of just sampling straight liquor all night virtually every distillery has signature cocktails for you to sample, and some of the were just mind blowingly delicious. Some of my favorite distilleries in attendance were Peach Street (the big winners), Forecastle Rum, Montanya, Stranahan's, and Black Canyon (I still fantasize about their whiskey-rita). All in all it was an amazing event and quite possibly the best $25 I've ever spent. Don't hesitate to grab your friends, book a condo, and come up for this event in 2014!

There were quite a few clothing, jewelry, bag, tapestry and pashmina type vendors but Miller Farms was there selling fresh veggies and I also noticed a panini stand selling hot pressed sandwiches for around $7-9. Kettle corn too which smelled delicious. There was live music and a decent crowd with lots of strollers and dogs as well as some bouncy games for kids like bungee jumps, etc... I can't give any farmers market less than five stars because I want them to stick around and I hope to be back in Breck on another Sunday to explore this market more. I'm not sure if it's because it was a holiday weekend that the regular food vendors and farmers were taking the day off, but it was certainly disappointing as it was how I had planned to enjoy my birthday brunch as opposed to a mediocre meal at a restaurant on Main. That said, it was still a pleasant festival to stroll around out and it's certainly work 4 stars. My advice is contact ResortQuest who puts on the market and make sure the market is happening in its entirety. That's what I'll be doing next time to avoid disappointment.
