I had gone with them a couple of times during her illness. The staff is so compassionate and caring. The vet presented my parents' with a treatment plan for the dog with pro's, con's, and what to expect. They were realistic about the prognosis without being bias towards a yes or no on treatment versus euthanasia. Apparently, it's been the same staff for many years, so they must love their job. I noticed how clean the waiting room is. It's also large enough that if it's busy, it's not so crowded. They also have a couple of receptionists working, so they're not so overwhelmed. I also like how when you check-out, it's semi-private from the waiting room. That is so very nice, especially if you have some financial issues to work out, or you're not in the best state of mind if you have a sick or dying pet. When we had our dog euthanized, the level of professionalism and compassion was so high. They worked us in, but didn't rush us. Now my parents take their young Chi there, and love it. They've never had a complaint! When they had her spayed, the process went very well and there were absolutely no complications. It's true that the prices at Creatures are higher than many other vets around, but I think it's worth it. They have a high level of professionalism, and care, and that means more than money. I have also had cats and rabbits treated here. Between my husband and I, there have been countless healthy pet visits for vaccinations, sick pet visits, surgery, etc. Everyone in this practice has always been friendly and compassionate, prices are fair, communication has been great, and I have been confident my pets have received excellent medical care. I actually live on the other side of town now and continue to make the drive because I am confident in the care my animals receive. I want to give an extra mention to Dr. Elena. We were in recently for vaccinations and she found a concerning mass. 5 days later, she removed it and a biopsy confirmed it to be an aggressive cancer (Hemangiosarcoma). Because of Dr. Elena's thorough exam of my girl and quick response, we have been able to address her health concerns before it was too late. I will forever be thankful to her for that. Was surgery cheap? Nope! But, I wouldn't expect surgery to be. I do believe their prices are fair. All in all, the thorough care this doctor provided made us aware of my girls health concerns and gave us options to help her through it. I highly recommend them!

He's practical--not the type that will want you to go through expensive treatments for a senior pet that probably won't work anyway. One of my cats had abdominal cancer, but he told me that, at 15, surgery wasn't an option. He put my cat on steroid shots that gave him four more months of quality time and gave me time to prepare for the end. Another senior cat had a nasal tumor that was too close to his eye to operate. A friend of mine had the same situation with her senior cat and spent over $10K on treatments that made him miserable and disintegrated his nasal structure so that he couldn't breathe, and he only lasted a few agonizing months in the end. It's not that I wouldn't pay for treatment that had a good chance of giving my pet a longer pain-free life. I just appreciate Dr. Pinney being honest and reasonable instead of pushing the most extreme and expensive options. The staff has always been kind and polite as well.
