So, my husband called Kanga Roofing and they came right out. We got an estimate and paid half up front. Then the worker showed up to fix the roof a couple weeks later. I was a little surprised when he pulled up because we were supposed to be notified. Good thing we were home that day. Both individuals who came out to our house - person who gave the quote and took the 50% deposit & the person who repaired the roof - were polite and friendly. The work was done very quickly, as it was just a small strip that need replacing. We asked the worker about paying the other half owed and was told that a supervisor would be coming out to inspect his work and then we would pay the other half. Well, no one ever came out to check the work. My husband works from home and we have cameras - so we know that the inspection was not done. We're hoping all is well with it. Our credit card - that I guess they kept on file from the first initial payment - was charged as soon as the work was completed.

Joe Lay & Sons Plumbing was the contractor for our new Fischer house in Independence. They botched…read more4 major things on new construction. First, they didn't properly install the drain for the main bathroom tub. They were quick to come out on the warranty work, but did have to cut into our new drywall and would not repaint. Next, the overflow drain from the where the HVAC unit sits was covered with particulate, causing the drain not to be effective, leaving water all over our carpeted floor. This required a service call. Once the drain was cleared of material, it was clear that they had not installed the overflow drain into the main drainage exit. This was another service call required after the other should have fixed it. Finally, today, I had to call a different plumber as there was a stain on the ceiling under my main shower. The new plumbers cut a hole in the ceiling and confirmed that the work performed by JL&SP was insufficient to keep the drain from overflowing. I would not trust them with any future work and clearly have had to have others come in to straighten up what they missed. With zero walls to have to work around, they couldn't get it right. What will they do in your house?
