The person taking our order was very nice and polite, no complaints there. The thing that knocks a few stars off is that it seems the restaurant's branding is copying the original Gus's World Famous Chicken restaurant. Dyersburg is not listed as an official location on their website and the dining area has framed print offs that describes the history of the original restaurant and news articles. It's misleading and makes it seem like it's one of their many locations in Tennessee when it isn't.

The fried green tomatoes were fantastic. Thin, delicate coating, perfectly cooked, and gone almost immediately. We also ordered the fried okra. While I'm not usually an okra enthusiast, a little ranch dressing made quick work of that problem. The sides deserve their own round of applause. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, the baked beans were rich and flavorful, and the macaroni and cheese was hands-down one of the favorites at the table. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager was combative, told me the GM instructed them not to give ketchup unless asked, and then hung up on me when I asked for their name. Good food doesn't make up for poor service. Hanging up on a customer and dismissing feedback is unacceptable. Guthrie's needs to train staff better because this experience makes me think twice about returning.
