The Penno road Kay Eff is an historic KFC store, that featured heavily in my childhood.
It was one of the first Sydney stores AFAIK (which is all that matters), and featured the retro revolving bucket sign at one point in time.
Most recent visit was a goodun. Rolled in after a 6 hour roadtrip hangry and dying of the starves.
Murdered the kentucky burger dead! This thing is amazing. Double cheese, then that chicken, bacon, coleslaw and crispy onion to top it off - then drizzled in smoky barbie sauce to elevate it into the stratosphere. The iconic chips were well seasoned, hot and fresh.
Service was super fast despite it being reasonably busy. Lots of people coming inside to eat as well as via drive-thru, but the team worked efficiently. Even with the existence of family horde orders.
Only gripe would be the cleanliness of the store. To be fair, staff were at full capacity just taking orders and serving, so taking time out to clean, would've compromised their excellent service... Even so, the floor perhaps could've had a quick once over. Tables were being cleaned however. The young girl who served me, went and windexed a few tables during a lull.
All in all one of my fave KFC stores. It's small in size but holds a big place in my memories :) read more
