Recently, my mom, suffering from dementia, had a cough, non-COVID, after testing, and when we called to get her an appointment, we were told they are not allowing sick patients into the office and perhaps they could call in some antibiotics for her and scheduling a video visit. First, you're a doctor's office not allowing for sick patients to come in? Ridiculous! Second, prescribing antibiotics without seeing your patients is not only stupid, you may end of killing someone. Third, a video visit won't work as my mom, even before her dementia, wasn't technically astute for a video call. Phone messages left to ask about getting a doctor's order for needed imaging often go unanswered and when you do get someone on the line, instead of professional courtesy, one often faces what can only be described as an attitude on their part. It's a customer-service industry, and if you can't be nice on the phone to people who are sick in need of a doctor's care, or their families who are just trying to help, you are in the wrong profession.

Just so happens the office called me today with results of some scheduled lab work that I had done; when I asked about why no one has called me back, the young woman (Alyssia) just laughed stating "well it wasn't me" and when I told her that it was not a laughing matter, she stated that she would check. Of course, the other staff members stated that there was not a message left. Well, I am not crazy and I documented the times I called, yet she still for some reason found it humorous. Hoping my new doctor will be amazing. Don't go here unless you want to have long waits, lost prescriptions, and refusals for refills. I really don't know why I didn't change sooner.

There are not many around like him anymore. A doctors visit is just that, the friendly nurses taking vitals and making sure everything is up-to-date, and then allowing the doctor the time to spend with the patients following up on past issues and listening to what the patients have to say in an honest way. My biggest compliment is that Dr. Cochrum seems like an expert on various medications, and maybe more importantly the interactions between medications. It's rare to see a doctor have this much knowledge these days, and I'm sure it requires a lot of studying on his part. Great, friendly front office staff. This is what healthcare is supposed to be. Woman said if any problems she would give me a call. Day before appointment someone call says I have a appointment but they don't know what it's for. Walk up to the window lady says they are not receiving patients yet (it's 9:20) have a seat. Four people sitting already waiting. The person sitting next to me gives a look of frustration so I ask what time is his appointment and with which doctor. His appointment 9:00 same doctor I find out the other patients are also for same doctor. I ask the receptionist what's going on? She informed me the Doctor was running behind. She also informed me that he is pretty quick so the wait won't be that long. We informed her of all the issues I've had making this appointment and it isn't a good thing that a doctor is quick. At that point I left the office shaking my head. As I left I said good luck to the patient I talked to earlier. Other patient walked up to the window got his paperwork canceled his appointment a walked out right behind me. My FMLA status prior to this clinic was for up to 5 times a month for illness and 5 times for Dr/ER visits, which was about to expire. This office agreed to those same times and added notes into the computer, noting that time length. I received the finished paperwork, which was for 1 day a month for illness and 1 day a month for Dr/ER visits. I called them and the manager was full of tihs because she said that's the maximum time they write for FMLA, without her knowing anything about my wife's ailments or medical history.. I believe that she thinks FMLA is paid time off, which is none of her business, and it's not. She just flat out lied and thinks everyone is stupid, and it didn't take long to realize that. She just made up policies and prices as she spoke. Very unprofessional and prejudice, in my opinion .They are definitely con artists and we will not be going back. Update: Went to another doctor and had my FMLA paperwork filled out correctly, no problems.
