What's even crazier, is that during said events, you're never pressured to buy anything. How do they make a profit? I'm not sure either. But it seems like their business model is more along the lines of providing a space that makes people feel happy and welcome and then worrying about that finance stuff later. Seriously though, the place is super welcoming and patient with nerds of all types. Whether you're dipping your toes into nerd culture or want to dive in face first, they've had an answer and anecdote for nearly every geeky genre that has ever pique a nerd's interest. Highly recommend the D&D games though. They're super fun and very patient with beginner players and even welcome new walk-ins during the middle of campaigns.

And like I stated before you came at me with the Mint Condition value ($15) which it clearly wasn't it was probably worth $7 so the fact that you couldn't give up a few dollars on a book that you most likely paid less then cover price 10 years earlier that's ridiculous all that aside I remember very clearly you saying oh that shouldn't have been in that box that should've been back here (pointing behind you on the wall) ! So your excuse isn't gonna fly ! Either way your a used item store so when you buy something from someone you only pay a price low enough so you can turn around and sell it for a profit right ? So what I'm saying here is let's say you buy an item for $20 and it's worth $40 at the time so $20 profit right ? That's good double your money so why is it so bad for you to just put that $40 on the item and leave it there your still getting the original profit you were originally fine with but your way of thinking is if that item went up $10 YOU need to get that extra $10 instead of letting what could be a loyal customer get a good deal and you still get the profit you intended from the beginning this is what I was trying to express to you in my last review I mean you have MANY items in your store that have been there for YEARS ! I'm not saying if you paid $5 for an item then it sky rockets to $500 to still sell it for $10 but I mean if you let that go for ....$300 then wouldn't you say you both win you only expected to get the original $10 but got $300 then your potential RETURN customer got an amazing deal to which you know he would brag about to EVERYONE! Stopped in this afternoon after my daughter walked past and saw the Pokémon signs. She said to them multiple times "excuse me" to ask about there over priced products that I was looking to purchase for her. I assume it was the 2 owners they were talking loudly and paying no attention to us as if we didn't exist. I made meaningful eye contact with them a couple times also to no response. After I finally raised my voice to a loud level to show my irritation we were finally asked how they could help? At this point I decided that these gentlemen did not want our business and handed back the 8 dollar card and let them know we were all set. I'm not going to say we have spent thousands or even hundreds but we definitely would have came back if we were treated well. Im sure my negative review will be followed by an arrogant rude response from said owner letting me know that my polite 8 year old and I were in the wrong please proceed with your arrogant response.

You get this pathetic excuse of a store. The BBB not finding in my favor is not a thing. That is not what they do. They contact the company and there is no actual finding but a mediator before court. I made it very clear I want my money back which I have still not received back. Now I'm going to go after thousands in court for misuse of my personal data. I'm still going to court to get my money back and falsely using my information to file a fake police report with my private information which is not what that was intended by my personal information. As I've stated this is the worst comic book store in the world and they should and will be shut down. Filing a false police report because someone says they're going to go to Court doesn't constitute a threat. They purposefully lied to me about the value of my trade it. Then misused my information to discredit me.

Now, 20 years later, my love for collecting has been rekindled, and Chris's Comics is still my go-to spot. The newest Pokémon card sets are nearly impossible to find elsewhere, yet somehow, Chris's Comics always has them in stock. They also buy cards--something I plan on taking advantage of soon--and sell singles for collectors looking for specific finds. Even if you're not into Pokémon, they have an impressive selection of trading cards, from sports to Magic: The Gathering and more. This kind of dismissive behavior isn't uncommon in comic book shops. Having been a regular reader for years, I can confidently say there's a certain hipster element embedded in comic culture that lacks the self-awareness that the "better-than-you" attitude is a dime a dozen. I place my weekly pulls with Casablanca Comics, where the staff are not only enjoyable to talk with, but actually remember your name and want to help. This shouldn't discount the efforts of the other, surely more personable employees--nor at least a visit or two to check out their selection--but it definitely detracts from any kind of regular patronage.

The actual name of this place is: "Coast City Comics & The Fun Box Monster Emporium." There is a ton of comic books, games, action figures, and related "stuff" crammed into this place.
