I shop for records all over the country and have never seen a more overpriced record store. They certainly have a commendable amount of inventory- in particular of foreign rock n roll pressings. If you are a KISS fan especially, there is a lot of specialized, rarer stuff here. But the rare inventory seems to come at the cost of all the inventory's pricing. The prices are 2-3 times what I've paid for the same condition pressings elsewhere- sometimes 4-5 times more. I'm not sure how it's getting these prices especially in a small town like Rochester. A bummer- if the prices were in line I would've bought a good dozen records! read more

I had never been here before, but Saturday was National Record Store Day and it's the closest record store to my house, so we chose to participate here. Everything was well run, everyone in line was respectful and nice, I'm not sure if this is how all RSD events are, but, I'm glad that this was my experience. The store itself is HUGE, tons and tons of vinyl to choose from, ranging from vintage to brand new. Everyone working, from the owner, to the girls at the registers, were amazing! Big record store with lots of vinyl. That's the positive news. The downside: 1) ridiculously expensive prices; 2) inaccurately described/presented issues - modern reissues represented as original first vintage pressings when they are not; 3) not the nicest service. Couple of examples here - sealed "original" Led Zeppelin albums for $250 that are actually 1980s reissues - clearly identifiable by the catalog numbers and bar codes on the covers. Also, they had a modern reissue of Jackie Mittoo's "Macka Fat" album described as "Original Jamaican Pressing" priced at $200. This is a $20 album at best. Like I said - they have a ton of stuff, but based on the prices and that they are located in Rochester, NH, I was scratching my head about who actually has this kind of bank to come in and buy stuff here, especially real vintage vinyl collectors. And their hours are not listed accurately on Yelp. They are only open until 5 p.m., not 7 p.m. And when I called to ask about that, they just said they were open until 5 p.m. and then hung up on me. Most people who would be able to spend the amount of money they ask for records would have jobs and work until 5 p.m., so I'm not sure how this place makes its money to keep the doors open. read more

The only reason I don't go to skeletone is because everytime I step foot in there I drop at least a paycheck lol.....it's obvious upon entering that it is run by people who genuinely love music. Each time I make my purchases, the owner looks at every record as if to say goodbye to an old friend. It's the only reason I go to Rochester and it's worth it every single time....as a matter of fact...I think I will go there now. read more

Nice store, they have loads of records, cds, equipment etc. Prices are quite fair and the owner is considerate and respectful. Definitely worth a trip! I only wish that I lived close by so that I could frequent the shop regularly. Being close to Christmas, there was a ton of holiday vinyl, very clean and at a reasonable 2 bucks a pop. read more

Me and my dad were having some quality time down in downtown Rochester, NH. We came across Skeletone and since we had a record player, Went in. The prices ranged from 20-100 dollars and has some used and new records. I ended up getting Blue Oyster Cult Agents of Fortune but it was warped in the shelf. I returned it and got my money back. A staff member de-warped it and gave it to me FOR FREE. And the variety is amazing, Organized and very Stuffed. I bet you could find any band in there (Exept Counting Crows i couldnt find them) I recommend this place 100%. read more

What a great record store. Stopped by on the way home from a weekend further north, really glad we did. Wife and I had a great time looking through everything, and chatting with the owner, who was very helpful. Seems to focus more on the classic rock and 80's rock, but has a little bit of everything. Pricing seems to be in line with most of the other record stores we've been to. We live 90 minutes away but will definitely be back. read more

Last Christmas my wife gave me a record player, so I dragged out all my old vinyl and listened and listened, then I got bored, so I went to Skeletones. This place has it all and I was able to really flesh out my Lou Reed collection which was lacking in his 70's material. There are also vintage and hard to get beauties on the wall that make me drool every time I visit. It would be so easy to spend all my money in this place. read more

Best selection of hard to find vinyl in nh inventory of "junk" not overwhelming the good. Todd the owner knows his stuff and has a neat we'll run and organized store. Listen to his recommendations he knows what you'd like and you won't be disappointed. I'd rate 10 stars if I could. read more

This is a great old-fashioned record store if you grew up in the 70's and the 80's and remember the recordtowns and musicsmiths and tower records when you could actually go in and browse for hours and still just hit the tip of the iceberg. Todd and his staff have all kinds of goodies, if you can't find it just ask! They have 45's, 8-tracks, cassettes, records, cd's VHS, clothing, even brand new records. The stock changes frequently so you need to stop in often so you can appreciate everything. What I love is I can look at it there and buy it and in most cases it's less than paying to ship items from ebay or amazon. A real trip down memory lane and plenty of free parking in downtown rochester. read more
