Dr. Patel is top notch, and so is the rest of the office staff. I will be forever grateful to him…read morefor the dedication, compassion, and excellent bed side manner that he showed my mother. I honestly can not put into words how positively he has impacted our lives. If you're looking for the best, this is the cardiologist to see.

I needed a cardiologist and a friend recommended Dr Patel. And, although the friend never met with…read moreDr Patel, she really liked the PA. For me, the endorsement was good enough. Two parts to the review: 1) My time with Dr Patel and the PA - 2) Waiting in the office I met with Dr Patel to follow up on the recommendation of an emergency room doctor to see a cardiologist. Dr Patel listened well to my experience and asked questions to best identify and direct me to the next steps. He came across as caring and very knowledgeable, as he should be. At a follow up appointment, the PA provided my wife and I the results of a test, and like Dr Patel, expressed care. The wait. During the three times I visited the office, the office was abuzz by the health care staff working, while the waiting area, although full, was very still. My total time of waiting until being seen was about 1 hour and a quarter with a total time in the office of over an hour. Because of Dr Patel and the PA, I thought the wait was worth it. Plan accordingly. Currently, the office does not have punch cards for office visits so that you pay a co-pay each of the first four visits, and on the fifth visit, no co-pay is needed.

Dr. Barnett is an excellent diagnostician. He correctly diagnosed my mother with a condition which…read moreis supposed to be quite common in the elderly (artial fibrillation), but which several (five, to be exact) other doctors, including another cardiologist, missed. He prescribed the proper medication, and my mother has had no problems or breakthrough arrhythmia at all on the regimen which he prescribed. He has a very pleasant personality, but more importantly, he is a top notch cardiologist. Mother was diagnosed (by Dr. Barnett) with hypertension, and he very kindly offered to consult with Mother's primary care physician since Mother elected to see him for this problem since he is much closer to where they live. Dr. Barnett truly cares about his patients and will go out of his way to help them. Judy, Dr. Barnett's nurse at Lake Mary, is wonderful. She could not be any more patient, helpful and efficient. .She is very kind and does not seem at all 'bothered', as some nurses seem, when you need their help. I hope and pray that Judy will be with Dr. Barnett as long as he is in practice. A good nurse is worth her weight in gold, and Judy is one GREAT nurse. Just a recent example.. I take Omega 3 capsules, and I wondered if that would be safe for my mother to take. She is on Coumadin (Warfarin) and many, many medications, both OTC and script, interfere with this drug. Therefore, she takes nothing, even OTC meds, without first consulting Dr. Barnett, which is what patients should always do. Just because something is OTC doesn't mean that it can't interfere with other prescription meds. I asked Judy to find out from Dr. Barnett if this would affect mother's INR/Coumadin levels and Judy called back and let us know that Dr. Barnett doesn't want Mother taking Omega 3 as it makes it too difficult to monitor the Coumadin levels. Judy said that he wants her to eat fish, but not to take this supplement. Once again..an example of how much Dr. Barnett and Judy care about their patients. CFC has two offices, the main office and the one in Lake Mary. There is a nurse at the main office, Alexia whose sole responsiblity it is to report INR (blood viscosity for those on Coumadin) . This is a good idea, as these results are crucial and can mean the difference between life and death., so whoever instituted this change in prior policy is to be commended. I highly recommend Dr. Barnett and he is responsible for saving my mother's life, so I am very grateful to him.

However, his business did not provide any notice or provide any other options for care. The office confirmed receipt of records and scheduled our appointment at the end of September. Fast forward. Office confirmed our insurance because the receptionist copied my husbands license snd insurance. When we come to the appointment, they can't find his paperwork. My husband has a multitude of health conditions and medications so this paperwork takes substantial time to complete accurately. It's gone. They can't find anywhere. Has his PII and medical history and mine as guarantor of insurance. It's in the ether. They pulled us out of the lobby quickly for the appointment (likely because my husband was upset). We waited another hour to see the doctor. In the interim, the manager did come and apologize to us but not until we overheard the staff explain we were "pissed". They were right. As for the doctor. Meh. Nothing earth shattering. Somewhat condescending.
