After some research, this came up as the top 3 coffee spots in Tulum. After having it twice in less than 24 hours (only because we discovered it the day before we left).... I would agree this spot is a must visit for coffee in Tulum. Honestly, I'd say to date, this is the BEST coffee I've had. It's right next to the jungle gym and it was 1/2 a mile from where we were staying. Wonderful little walk. Had I discovered this sooner, I would have gone daily. Both times I went I enjoyed the double iced vanilla latte with whole milk. It was SO YUM-O! I wanted to gulp this thing down so fast, but had to hold back from doing so. I'm still thinking about it as I sit here and write this review, haha! The coffee was strong, yet smooth and perfectly sweet. This coffee spot is adorable with the jungle like vibe that's peaceful and inviting. Staff were friendly and attentive. I love how the menus were in Spanish and English (which I needed). We got our orders to go each visit, but next trip to Tulum, I will be going each day, and likely enjoy there. What I also loved was the fantastic messages written on our to-go cups.
I recently returned to ki'Bok on my visit to Tulum and discovered that the restaurant has moved to a bigger location in the La Veleta neighborhood. My family and I went for breakfast right after they opened on a Sunday morning. The new location is spacious and entirely outdoors. Since we arrived early, it wasn't crowded at all--we were among the first customers. Our drink orders were taken immediately and arrived just as quickly. I had a Cafe Cubano, while my wife enjoyed an iced latte. My oldest son had an iced chocolate, and my youngest ordered a mango agua fresca. All the drinks were delicious. For food, we ordered red and green chilaquiles, pan Frances, and a canasta de pan. The food was even better than the drinks.
We went back!!! Just the best people here:) I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who's in need of any kind of great beverages and food.
My 2nd visit here was just as solid as the first time. Tasty food, well-priced for Tulum! Great coffee. Juices and smoothies are delish. The house hot sauce is worth asking for. A large airy courtyard type seating area gives a nice "I'm in the tropics!" vibe but is arranged such that there's always areas with shade and a hint of breeze. A little outside of the main part of town, in an area with newish expat-leaning businesses wedged into a neighborhood. Still bike-able from town, though there's a reasonable amount of parking (for Tulum). Fast internet with multiple wireless SSIDs makes for good connectivity. The service is quiet, efficient and attentive, without being intrusive, even if you're lingering. There's a couple of cute cafe cats wandering through, minding their own business. Cat people will delight (I know I did). I always hesitate to recommend my favorite places, trying to balance making sure they thrive with not having them be swamped when I visit. Since these guys have been around a while, I feel like the "boost" option is appropriate. If I lived here, instead of just visited occasionally, I would be here All.The.Time. Highly Recommended.
Great service here. My espresso macchiato had an average presentation in the flavor was good. I had a Rubies-beet, turmeric, ginger, black pepper $32.It was delicious. The other person in my party had one of their smoothies, which was outstanding and not overly sweet perfect.
Amazing! We went here every single day we were in Tulum for my bachelorette trip, the staff is soo wonderful and sweet! We loved the quotes on the to go cups every day. We will be back again! Delicious coffee
We just got back from an 8 day journey in the Riviera Maya and of all the places we tried, this one not only hits my number one spot for this entire trip but my number one spot for breakfast in the history of my life! (Its a long one but if you if you want to know why this place is now embedded in my forever memory - skip to the last part) Our Air B&B was right around the corner from this place. Was it a coinkdink or was the universe rewarding me in the best way ever? Pretty sure the universe was like you know what, your husband forgot it was your birthday and you were dressed and ready and you cried alone in the car and I feel bad for you. That was many months ago but I will take it. Thank you universe! We ended up going for breakfast two days in a row and ordered the exact same thing because everyone in my family just loved it. Here is what I ordered. Seems like a lot of food but it was actually for my two boys and I to share. I ordered the Ki'Bok breakfast, some pancakes, bread basket, and plate of fruit and yogurt. I did not try the pancakes because well its pancakes and I wanted to reserve my stomachial space for actual food. Let me start with the yogurt and fruit. I didnt take a picture but it was watermelon, papaya, banana and I cant remember what other fruits. The yogurt was more like a sweet sauce that complimented the fruit very well and was such a light treat. The bread basket was enough for the entire table to share. It appeared to be a focaccia with rosemary. It was great on its own perfectly buttery and it was accompanied by pineapple jam and butter. So good so good! The ki'bok breakfast. Its two fried eggs with a perfectly runny yolk, cherry tomatoes, bacon, red onions. I believe that it's supposed to come with avocado, mine didn't but honestly, I didn't miss it at all. My picture is not the best as I couldn't resist devouring it before even thinking of snapping a pic. Oh and the drinks, I was too scared my stomach was wasn't going behave if I had coffee so I didn't even have coffee. Thats okay because both days I had the after glow juice. I was so refreshing and it was more on the strawberry side I really enjoyed it. I wish it was bigger cups with more ice and more juice but that may just be the American way that I'm used to. Now when I tell you after I had this, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was in a cab and I brought it up. Went to the most gorgeous beach and swam the most beautiful waters but all I could think about was this. This isn't even a food its a condiment! One that changed me forever. In a good way. The waitress called it "habanerito". I love heat. True heat. If it says spicy it better set me on fire or else it gets a big no. This was more like a habanero butter. I not only finished the first container, I dipped my egg all the way into the next until I was clean. Like had I been left alone with no one around I would have more likely licked the entire container. Was I sweating profusely? Yes but I came in that way. But did it make it worse? Honestly I feel like I blacked out. In a good way. I've never had anything like it and I wont rest until I can recreate it. During my visit to Tulum this was the best cafe I visited! Mostly due to the cats that hang at the cafe. The food was also great too! I got the French toast and an iced vanilla latte. The French toast was perfect, l and not too sweet. While eating the cats at the cafe came up to us and were so friendly! One even tried to eat our food. My friends got the chilaquiles and those were bomb too! If I came back to Tulum I would definitely visit this cafe again.
We've visited both locations - SMA and Tulum. Both locations are awesome. Their breakfasts are legit. Chilaquiles verde, enchiladas verde, Ki Bok breakfast, chai latte, vanilla latte, and fresh juices. Service is friendly, street parking can be tricky if you come at peak hours, the space is large enough to spread out. This is our go to spot when we go to SMA and Tulum. Highly recommend.
Everything was amazing! Such good coffee too! Service was super quick and the servers were very helpful. Ambiance is soooooo freaking cute too.
We ate here twice because not only was the food good, but it was super reasonably priced. The fresh fruit, the fresh coffee, everything was delicious. For what I would pay for an avocado (just the avocado), I received an entire plate of food, bread eggs and cheese with a half of an avocado. The location is outdoors, but they do have some covered seats in case it rains. On both occasions we met people that were originally from the states, but chose to live in Mexico for a more laid back and relaxed environment and this place aids in that.
Good coffee with a large seating area that has lots of shaded sections. The vanilla latte was fresh, cold and delicious!
Another great find on my recent trip to Tulum. To me, this was THE coffee spot. I tried the iced vanilla latte both trips the Purple Pink Skies/berry smoothie. The vanilla latte was layered with flavor to the last sip. The first thing I noticed was how smooth the coffee was, but also paired with a robust coffee flavor. It was not bitter at all. There's something special about this coffee - one of the best I have ever had. The smoothie was great as well. It wasn't sweet, which was appreciated. It tasted like a healthy option for breakfast. So nice, we went twice. What can I say about Ki'Bok, we loved the setting, felt like we were eating in an enchanted jungle with friendly cats who are welcomed here, the owners and servers are all sweet and provide great service. This place was recommended to me by two different friends from the US, so I had to go. It was worth it. The coffee (I got a cold mocha) was so amazing, I don't know what it is about their coffee, but it was delicious. The breakfast burrito was insanely good. Again, don't know what everything that went into it (felt like there was a cut up hot dog in it), but it was so good. Only minus...we sat in the back on the terrace, and at one point the hostess sat a guy next to us, who right away lit up a cigarette. I am a former smoker, so I get the need to smoke while drinking coffee, but there were plenty of empty tables, wish he was seated somewhere further away. Oh well. Recommend it, if you're in town. read more

Currently operating as an open-air patio during the pandemic Ki'bok Coffee remains popular for good reason - a combination of locally roasted Beans and bargain Breakfasts featuring choices both savory and sweet. Located on Centauro Sur in downtown Tulum, far from the bustling beaches and family-run, it is after warm greetings that guests are offered a choice of seating configurations, those under the shade of palms popular for good reason even before the midday sun. Sourcing Coffee from Veracruz and Chiapas, with Baristas capably creating a variety of Lattes and Cappuccino, purists will find Espresso clean and rich without a lot of acid, the addition of Ice necessary for those not accustomed to the heat forming a chilly makeshift Americano. Built for a prolonged morning of conversation or work, with low volume and room to spread out, do consider housemade Pastries as a starter, prices 35-50 pesos an undeniable bargain for loaded Carrot Cake or a decadent Brownie while Chilaquiles for less than $5USD include crisp housemade Chips beneath an abundance of Cheese, Salsa and roast Chicken. read more
We stayed around the corner from this cute coffee place and heard great things about it. I'm glad we were able to visit it twice for coffee and breakfast. They open early at 7 am, so it's great to stop by before being on the go for the rest of the day. I loved their buzz latte, which is double shot with honey. I usually drink my coffee black, but definitely have an appreciation for a great latte. The espresso is nice and strong and the touch of honey comes through with its sweetness. Most of their breakfast items are similar with black bean, tortilla and salsa. I tried the enchiladas the first day and it was nice with a sweet mole. Tortillas are wrapped around chicken and covered with the mole sauce. We also got a homemade blackberry bar. The crust was nice and crunchy with oats and the blackberry jam is fresh with slivers of almond on top. They also have various muffins and tequila truffles! I got huevos divorciados the next day. It's got both red and green salsa. Ask for the hot sauce if you want an extra kick. It is this white creamy sauce that's deceivingly spicy. I like the red salsa better than the taste green salsa. Hubs got the French toast and it's lightly battered with egg and crispy. It's got a slight touch of syrup and nice apples on top. Definitely come by and check this place out. I loved this place so much I came three days in a row for breakfast (each day I had to order more espresso because vacation). The staff and the vibe ooze cool and laid back. The staff is so accommodating and easygoing. There's that local Tulum hippie chill energy. Also, the food and coffee were great. My favorite was the chilaquiles, a classic and they serve a good dish. They also have tables with swings in front so you can get your basic bitch on while you eat. read more

It seems silly to visit tulum and have your favorite activity be a coffee shop, but this place is amazing. Delicious food, great coffee, perfect jungle vibes. Our driver recommended and we ended up coming for breakfast every morning. Cannot miss while in Tulum! They have cats and amazingly friendly service, what more could you want. read more

I love the location and interior of this place. I only ordered their pop lilac Vanilla latte but it was not as great as all the reviews mention. I tried it and would not go back but maybe I would go back to try their food. They do write different quotes on all their drinks which is a cool touch. read more
Some of the best, most smooth coffee i May have ever had. Got an iced americano and absolutely felt no bitterness whatsoever. The bf got the cappuccino and really enjoyed it as well. They have a walk up counter to order to go as well as pastries. There is a garden in the back for more seating and the upstairs turns into a bar some nights with a dj. We had a quick breakfast here and had great, friendly service and good food. Appreciative of the English menu. read more

I spent 15 days in Tulum and tried almost every place in downtown for breakfast and all I can say is that this is the best one! The chicken enchiladas are amazing (the one with almond mole is delicious), the breakfast burrito and huevos divorciados are always a great option. Juices are fresh and organic! If you're looking for a place where you can work remotely, this place is also for you. They have a patio with large tables and wifi where you can spend the day being served by a very kind staff. COVID: Face mask required to enter. They require you to hand sanitizer before entering. All employees were wearing face masks. We ended up sitting upstairs in an open area that had a nice ambiance. Would recommend having your Shazam ready as the music in the background is so vibey and clearly has some of the bartender's favorite songs in the playlist. Our seating overlooking trees and downtown plus the music added to the great dining experience! Drinks: 1. We ordered something like a peach bellini cocktail but the bartender informed us she ran out of some ingredients and could make us something similar. The drink she ended up making was amazing! It had a nice citrus flavor and a good dose of alcohol. 2. My friend was about to order another one of these but saw at another table that the bartender created some type of strawberry cocktail for the table over and ordered that instead. It was super tasty and you can tell she puts a lot of thought and time into creating a fun cocktail to appease customers. Would recommend ordering any cocktail! Food: 1. Chilaquiles Rojo with egg and green sauce - Chips were not soggy at all and it tasted delicious. It was a bit too much to finish. 2. French Toast - slightly different than your typical french toast as the texture wasn't as soft. However, you can taste they used real raw sugar and the fruits were fresh. 3. Fruit platter with yogurt and granola - the platter was huge and everything was fresh. They pour the yogurt over the fruit. Overall, would definitely recommend stopping by! We had intentions to come againto try more of their breakfast items and more cocktails! read more

This spot was ok...I must admit the ambiance and the staff made the spot more bearable. Food was subpar but if you from America and a picky eater it's a safe bet! but if you looking for that fire, this ain't the one! Guacamole was ELITE! Hence why the shit is gone...enchilada sauce was terrible. Chicken was dry and unseasoned and I'm black, so . Mocha wasn't mixed but it looked sexy when I got it, tasted unmixed. It was a group of 6, nobody left satisfied. 0/6...0%....ass. Decor dope though and it's cheap. Hella outside lol, I was low key scared but anyways. Thanks for reading. I had high expectations but while I was not exactly disappointed I was also never wowed. Everything was just ok, the breakfast tortilla wrap had an almond sauce over it that tasted ok but left a weird after taste. The cafe is charming with a jungle outdoor in door setting. They location is hippie and look with street vendors right across and the community atmosphere is great. I gave five starts because it's also important to feel welcomed which I was however the food is just ok. read more
The coffee here is so good I was contemplating buying some to bring back. I kind of regret not doing so but there is always next time. Anyways this is a very cool coffee shop where it seems a lot of expats and tourists frequent. On a given day you will see families with their kids, young professionals with their computers, working away on the Wi-Fi, and regulars who drop by for a cup of coffee to take with them on their day. You know it has to be pretty good if people are buying hot coffee in Tulum weather. Equally good is the food here. Had a few breakfast items which were very tasty and good. I wish the tortilla chips didnt get so soggy so quickly, but it was still very much enjoyed and consumed. The sandwich was made with bread that was baked in house. Also very good and big enough for a snack we enjoyed later. Another thing I appreciate about this place is that they took the time to explain their composting system and process and the care and impact on the environment to better understand the "why" behind the "what". I wish the US would start adopting these ways and systems on a more macro level! Definitely one of the best coffee spots encountered in the Riviera Maya so far! read more

One of the best breakfast I've ever had! So full after but it felt light due to the fresh ingredients. Definitely recommended for everyone! The waiter didn't return with our change since we gave him 300 pesos and the bill was 225 pesos. We waited for some time, he was wiping forks...then left to the back, gone...he was not busy to not return our change.. so we asked someone to give us our change back and then she did after chasing down our waiter... he would have gotten more tips from us if he didn't try to skeem read more
