After some research, this came up as the top 3 coffee spots in Tulum. After having it twice in less than 24 hours (only because we discovered it the day before we left).... I would agree this spot is a must visit for coffee in Tulum. Honestly, I'd say to date, this is the BEST coffee I've had. It's right next to the jungle gym and it was 1/2 a mile from where we were staying. Wonderful little walk. Had I discovered this sooner, I would have gone daily. Both times I went I enjoyed the double iced vanilla latte with whole milk. It was SO YUM-O! I wanted to gulp this thing down so fast, but had to hold back from doing so. I'm still thinking about it as I sit here and write this review, haha! The coffee was strong, yet smooth and perfectly sweet. This coffee spot is adorable with the jungle like vibe that's peaceful and inviting. Staff were friendly and attentive. I love how the menus were in Spanish and English (which I needed). We got our orders to go each visit, but next trip to Tulum, I will be going each day, and likely enjoy there. What I also loved was the fantastic messages written on our to-go cups.
I recently returned to ki'Bok on my visit to Tulum and discovered that the restaurant has moved to a bigger location in the La Veleta neighborhood. My family and I went for breakfast right after they opened on a Sunday morning. The new location is spacious and entirely outdoors. Since we arrived early, it wasn't crowded at all--we were among the first customers. Our drink orders were taken immediately and arrived just as quickly. I had a Cafe Cubano, while my wife enjoyed an iced latte. My oldest son had an iced chocolate, and my youngest ordered a mango agua fresca. All the drinks were delicious. For food, we ordered red and green chilaquiles, pan Frances, and a canasta de pan. The food was even better than the drinks.
My 2nd visit here was just as solid as the first time. Tasty food, well-priced for Tulum! Great coffee. Juices and smoothies are delish. The house hot sauce is worth asking for. A large airy courtyard type seating area gives a nice "I'm in the tropics!" vibe but is arranged such that there's always areas with shade and a hint of breeze. A little outside of the main part of town, in an area with newish expat-leaning businesses wedged into a neighborhood. Still bike-able from town, though there's a reasonable amount of parking (for Tulum). Fast internet with multiple wireless SSIDs makes for good connectivity. The service is quiet, efficient and attentive, without being intrusive, even if you're lingering. There's a couple of cute cafe cats wandering through, minding their own business. Cat people will delight (I know I did). I always hesitate to recommend my favorite places, trying to balance making sure they thrive with not having them be swamped when I visit. Since these guys have been around a while, I feel like the "boost" option is appropriate. If I lived here, instead of just visited occasionally, I would be here All.The.Time. Highly Recommended.
We just got back from an 8 day journey in the Riviera Maya and of all the places we tried, this one not only hits my number one spot for this entire trip but my number one spot for breakfast in the history of my life! (Its a long one but if you if you want to know why this place is now embedded in my forever memory - skip to the last part) Our Air B&B was right around the corner from this place. Was it a coinkdink or was the universe rewarding me in the best way ever? Pretty sure the universe was like you know what, your husband forgot it was your birthday and you were dressed and ready and you cried alone in the car and I feel bad for you. That was many months ago but I will take it. Thank you universe! We ended up going for breakfast two days in a row and ordered the exact same thing because everyone in my family just loved it. Here is what I ordered. Seems like a lot of food but it was actually for my two boys and I to share. I ordered the Ki'Bok breakfast, some pancakes, bread basket, and plate of fruit and yogurt. I did not try the pancakes because well its pancakes and I wanted to reserve my stomachial space for actual food. Let me start with the yogurt and fruit. I didnt take a picture but it was watermelon, papaya, banana and I cant remember what other fruits. The yogurt was more like a sweet sauce that complimented the fruit very well and was such a light treat. The bread basket was enough for the entire table to share. It appeared to be a focaccia with rosemary. It was great on its own perfectly buttery and it was accompanied by pineapple jam and butter. So good so good! The ki'bok breakfast. Its two fried eggs with a perfectly runny yolk, cherry tomatoes, bacon, red onions. I believe that it's supposed to come with avocado, mine didn't but honestly, I didn't miss it at all. My picture is not the best as I couldn't resist devouring it before even thinking of snapping a pic. Oh and the drinks, I was too scared my stomach was wasn't going behave if I had coffee so I didn't even have coffee. Thats okay because both days I had the after glow juice. I was so refreshing and it was more on the strawberry side I really enjoyed it. I wish it was bigger cups with more ice and more juice but that may just be the American way that I'm used to. Now when I tell you after I had this, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was in a cab and I brought it up. Went to the most gorgeous beach and swam the most beautiful waters but all I could think about was this. This isn't even a food its a condiment! One that changed me forever. In a good way. The waitress called it "habanerito". I love heat. True heat. If it says spicy it better set me on fire or else it gets a big no. This was more like a habanero butter. I not only finished the first container, I dipped my egg all the way into the next until I was clean. Like had I been left alone with no one around I would have more likely licked the entire container. Was I sweating profusely? Yes but I came in that way. But did it make it worse? Honestly I feel like I blacked out. In a good way. I've never had anything like it and I wont rest until I can recreate it. During my visit to Tulum this was the best cafe I visited! Mostly due to the cats that hang at the cafe. The food was also great too! I got the French toast and an iced vanilla latte. The French toast was perfect, l and not too sweet. While eating the cats at the cafe came up to us and were so friendly! One even tried to eat our food. My friends got the chilaquiles and those were bomb too! If I came back to Tulum I would definitely visit this cafe again.
We've visited both locations - SMA and Tulum. Both locations are awesome. Their breakfasts are legit. Chilaquiles verde, enchiladas verde, Ki Bok breakfast, chai latte, vanilla latte, and fresh juices. Service is friendly, street parking can be tricky if you come at peak hours, the space is large enough to spread out. This is our go to spot when we go to SMA and Tulum. Highly recommend.
We ate here twice because not only was the food good, but it was super reasonably priced. The fresh fruit, the fresh coffee, everything was delicious. For what I would pay for an avocado (just the avocado), I received an entire plate of food, bread eggs and cheese with a half of an avocado. The location is outdoors, but they do have some covered seats in case it rains. On both occasions we met people that were originally from the states, but chose to live in Mexico for a more laid back and relaxed environment and this place aids in that.

I came here every single day I was here vacationing in Tulum. Such a gem in a beautiful city! Their coffee was absolutely delicious. I ordered a cappuccino each time, and typically a second drink to go. Such great quality coffee beans they use! I ended up buying a bag of beans to take home with me back to Boston. I took back a bag of Oaxaca beans which they use for their espresso. As for their food- I ordered their fish tacos and it was delicious! If I'm ever in Tulum again, I'd go straight for this cafe in a heart beat! read more

Some of the best, most smooth coffee i May have ever had. Got an iced americano and absolutely felt no bitterness whatsoever. The bf got the cappuccino and really enjoyed it as well. They have a walk up counter to order to go as well as pastries. There is a garden in the back for more seating and the upstairs turns into a bar some nights with a dj. We had a quick breakfast here and had great, friendly service and good food. Appreciative of the English menu. read more

Cute breakfast place to have something light or heavy depending on your mood that morning. You can either sit in the front of the restaurant and people watch, or sit in the back where they have a small garden. We sat in the back and it allowed my group of 5 to sit comfortably together and not be squished to a table next to us. Our group all ordered something different, and everything was delicious. Even the espresso based drinks were delicious and hit the spot. read more

Ki' Bok is one of our favorite breakfast places in Tulum. I loved the dirty chai latte. I ordered the apple french toast & my husband got the traditional breakfast! Ki' Bok had the best coffee in Tulum (it was so good we even bought a bag of beans to bring home). You should definitely go here for breakfast when you're in Tulum! read more

Ki' Bok was the perfect way to kick off my 25th birthday celebration. I went based off a friend's recommendation, and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere, coffee, hot cakes, and employees make this place a must-visit when in Town. I'll probably spend my morning here for the duration of my trip in Tulum. I ordered a latte and breakfast burrito. Latte tasted very good, I would come back for that. I am not sure about the breakfast burrito because the wrap was too thick for me. I would prefer more bacon, sausage and seasonings, or at least more sauce. Also, I wish they gave me hot spicy sauce. read more
I got the beef burger it was pretty good. The cheese wasn't super flavorful to me but the chipotle sauce was super good. I love how this place plates the fries it definitely is super aesthetic. I would have left a better rating if they didn't run out of bread for my burger or bread to make a sandwich. I also wish the menu had a little bit more options as far as food. Tiny little place with the Best breakfast! The chiliquiles were the best I've ever had. So cheesy, full of flavor, so filling! Also got pancakes which were to die for. Even the syrup was delicious. I can't wait to come back here to try to rest of the food. read more
Easily the best coffee anywhere near the main drag of Tulum. It might not give the best coffee shops in the Pacific Northwest a run for their money, but they have first crack at some amazing product grown in Mexico, and the tropical look and feel are a nice way to start your day. read more
I'm sad we didn't discover this place during our trip earlier! Fantastic spot for breakfast that has really good coffee and is super reasonably priced ($130 pesos or less for breakfast combos). Food was great and everyone was friendly. Lovely place with lovely people! read more

This was one of our favorite breakfast places while we were in Tulum. Both the coffee and the food are delicious. Coffee recommendations: The espresso they pour is delicious, I had mine over ice and another in my party had it in a latte, both were robust with a touch of sweet that good espresso is known for. The chai is also very tasty for those who don't want coffee. And if you want both worlds you should absolutely order the cafe chai latte. Food recommendations: We unanimously loved the chilaquiles. The blend of flavors are delicious and the plate is definitely fillings. The Molletes was new to us but also a very filling meal that offered a simple yet tasty mix of flavors. The BLT was the best that I've ever had. The bread and the cheese make this sandwich. read more
I was surprised something had 5 stars with already 90+ reviews, out here in Tulum, but then I came here, and wow. Let me start by saying the beef burger (hamburguesa con res) is SO FREAKING GOOD. The patty is ground beef mixed with onions and cilantro, sprinkled in melted mozzarella with lettuce and tomato on a thick bun. Oh man, it's probably one of the best burgers I've had that wasn't $$$-grade beef. I also had the buzz latte, a double-shot latte with honey, which was delicious. My gf had the fish carpaccio and the huevos rancheros, which she both loved as well. Staff was super friendly and nice, and the ambience was hip. BUT GO FOR THE BEEF BURGER! read more

This place was recommended to us by our driver, and it was so good we went every morning of our trip to Tulum! The staff is friendly and so are the resident cats. The food is amazing and comes out fast. All the drinks (coffees, smoothies, juices) are great too! Highly recommend the molletes and choconananut smoothie! read more

Wow, fresh made pancakes and breakfast options anyone can call divine. The fruit platter, homemade orange juice, chai latte and even the variety of eggs is well worth a solid start to the day. We grabbed sandwiches to go, pastries, and drinks for later climbing of the pyramids and truly enjoyed the food nearly all day long; super spot! Garden seating is great as well, really got to be a hidden gem for the rest of the area in my analysis fails to deliver like this does. read more

Oh my nom nom. Saw the reviews, decided it was a must check out on our tulum trip. Beautiful indoor decor but we wanted to be outdoors so sat back on the back patio with some nice greenery and chalk paintings. My friend ordered the chilaquiles while I got the divorciados because I can't for the life of me pick a sauce and want to try all of them. The orange sauce in the divorciados was the same one as the one on the chilaquiles. The coffee was beautiful but I appreciated the beauty too long and the coffee lost its warmth. Womp womp. Overall, a+ and a must check out. It's right next to a Bateys and a few other poppin places for night time. read more

My friend and I visited this cafe a bunch of times during our stay in Tulum. Cool, hipster vibes if you like that sort of thing. The best time to go is during breakfast or brunch. And make sure you sit at the outdoor eating area; it's the ideal spot to take pictures because the backdrop and lighting are A++. Although I'm not a coffee drinker my Tulum tour guide claims they make the best coffee in town! I say they make the best chai and chai cupcakes! Overall, everything I tasted was super delicious. The staff were all so friendly and gracious too. I recommend this spot to anyone whos staying in town! read more
This is one cool cafe in the epicenter of cool: Tulum. While the coastal road in Tulum boasts some delicious food, there is also a lot of goodness to be found in downtown Tulum, and at a fraction of the cost. I had heard that Ki'Bok was a coffee nerd's dream come true, and it did not disappoint. The beans they use here are fresh from the plant, and they make some amazing cortados and espresso beverages. We were also blown away by their fish tacos-my husband still talks about them. The fish tasted like it was caught that morning. There's a beautiful little patio out back that has a lot of amazing plants and provides a nice refuge from the heat. If you're in Tulum and you are inclined to tear yourself away from the beach, you must come here. The coffee comes correct and the fare and ambiance are not far behind. read more
