Charleston Dog Wizard

Charleston Dog Wizard

North Central

JR/Charleston Dog Wizard is truly a Wizard with our dog, a Rottweiler. We contacted him when she…read morewas a puppy and we chose JR to puppy train our dog because of his knowledge, his demeanor, his interaction with our children and his belief that the whole family can be involved in training, and certainly his interaction with our dog Ginger. JR had Ginger for maybe 2 weeks and she came back such a nicely behaved puppy! The time he spent with us on her return was invaluable and he included all 5 of our children actively and lovingly into the training. His patience is never ending with both humans and dogs! We had a few follow up lessons as well as 24/7 access to him....and he actually means 24/7. I sent him a text late evening once and he returned the message even though I had expected him to not return the message until the next day! We have now sent her to be with JR to learn her adult off leash manners. He is an exceptional dog (and human) trainer. Ginger and JR really have such a nice relationship. It is clear to us that she respects and adores JR. He has high expectations for himself and the dogs he trains. You simply cannot go wrong with JR/Charleston Dog Wizard!! He stands behind everything he says and does. Hire him!

You will obtain an obedient, trustworthy, and calmer companion for the rest of your lives. Sure, a reliable dog makes your life easier, but more importantly your dog's life just got a lot better. Why? Because when you are washing your car in the driveway he can now be with you instead of locked away. He can now go the soccer games instead of staying at home in the back yard. He can now be inside when guests are visiting without jumping all over them. Again, we cannot emphasize enough that obedience awards freedom in the dog world. Your best friend will be forever grateful for this gift, and the bond you will build in the process is priceless.

I can't recommend Jonathan enough. Slater is over 100lbs and was so wild I couldn't even walk him…read more I was honestly at the point where I thought I'd have to rehome him. I was super hesitant to leave him at all, but the results were so outstanding that it was 100% worth being apart for the four weeks it took. Jonathan is great because he doesn't do any of that crazy stuff like withholding food--he just took the time to see how Slater responded and used what worked for him. Now, I can actually take my dog out to lunch! Even better, Obie is now my service dog for my epilepsy. Jonathan seriously saved my dog and changed my life. If you're struggling with a big dog, go see him.

I waited a long time to write this review... Jonathan had our dog maybe 6 months ago and he's now a…read moreyear old. I wanted to not just write a simple review but to really be honest and sincere because we researched for months to find the right place to train our pup. Our dog is a German Shepherd - Great Pyrenees mix and while he was doing well at wanting to please, he was super stubborn, guarded our home and WOULD not come back for any recall. Now, now, he's the most well behaved and amazing dog, he comes back 100% of the time with just the word "here" and he can jump up where I tell him, he barks once at passers by, but knows that's all. He can do off leash like a pro, today I took him to the trails and he stayed right beside me off leash the entire time I asked. Right now he's sitting in his "place" as he does whenever someone comes to the door. These are all things I tried training him before we sent him to Jonathan that did not work or stick no matter how hard I tried. Right now, I can open the front door, invite him out, and he will stay with me, if he does walk away, he'll come right back when asked. All of this would not be possible without Jonathan. There are some caveats I would say though. If you read the reviews you'll see Jonathan isn't the greatest communicator, and I won't disagree, he's really a dog person, not a people person, but for the care of my dog I want a dog person; if he was great with me but awful with my dog I'd be pissed. His services are expensive. And it will take longer than expected, so expect to bring the dog food and meds and maybe buy him a bed for being at Jonathan's, but it's very much a trust the process, he tells you up front, but he won't bring the dog home till the dog is ready. The other reason I waited for the review is so I could review the extended care and warranty. Upon his return I was unhappy with my dogs progress and I called Jonathan and he came back to me for another whole session to help. Not surprisingly, I was not doing it right... and the true value of his work is what you put into it after, we have been texting and videos and emails with him for the last six months and he's been able to guide us and has invited us to come back for more sessions to fine tune our concerns. If you just give him the dog and then don't expect to train after, you'll loose, because that's just not real, but if you use the essential and reinforce them you'll have a dog you love to be with every day. He mostly gave us the language to talk to our dog, and now we can work with him with ease. I would suggest if you want to invest in your dog, your life, your friendship and relationship with the dog, invest in Jonathan.

Iron Horse Farm - Ted in his blankets in HER BARN sent from HER boarder

My horse was supposed to be in private turn out and not only was he not, he was turned out with three or four other horses at a time. For almost a thousand dollars a month in South Carolina this is utterly ridiculous. It is the only "equestrian" center to turn out expensive sport horses in HERDS and still charge a thousand dollars monthly. My horse was scheduled to move for a lease and when he was picked up he was completely lame. On three legs. I was never told or alerted. In fact, the manager of Iron Horse LLC, claimed the opposite. We had a vet examine him and Dr Miller guesses that he had a leg injury from being kicked. To add insult to injury, almost everything I had was stolen from this "equestrian center." Ted had a complete set of blankets and rain sheets-all GONE. Rambo and baker When I asked the manager of this place, she told me that my horse didn't have any blankets. Two things are wrong with this; we have multiple boarders asserting the fact that they of course saw Ted blanketed in the winter and number two, the manager had a horse go through the winter with no blankets and didn't alert or ask his owner where his blankets were? I have sent a picture of ted in his blankets at this center that another hoarder sent and I received a reply of "you're a liar and you have no contract anyway!" The manager or woman who leases this place has not stepped foot on the property in over two months. If you need a place to board please contact Top Sail or Poplar Grover or Seabrook. I beg you
